FREE! KBO Pitching Strategy Picks to Dominate DraftKings and FanDuel 5/20/20

Members crushed it last night and lets not waste any time getting back into it for today’s slate. Even just one day without baseball each week is one day too many. DraftKings is running some big $$ KBO contests so be sure to reserve spots early if you plan to play!

Nascar and MMA are back and the DFS Army helmets rose to the top once again (including this massive MMA takedown from Beavis30). Pitchers and Picks for 5/20

Here are some of my favorite plays for the slate. I like to include high upside plays even if it means taking some risks so don’t forget to look at the “format” suggested under each pitcher. This slate definitely seems to have more of a GPP slant to it on the pitching side. DK seems to be slowly figuring out pricing for pitchers so fitting two studs in gets harder and harder. However, there are some solid GPP options for tomorrow that might help you save some salary.

Chang Mo Koo

Team: NCD @ DOO
Price$10,000 | $28
Matchup: BA (1st) | OPS (1st) | SO (10th) | BB (8th)
Notes: Koo has been simply amazing in his first two starts this season but he is very expensive and facing a very powerful offense this morning. Koo though has two amazing starts so far going 2-0 with 18 K’s over 14 innings, allowing just 6 hits in that span. DOO struggles against lefties and it showed the last time they faced a lefty. Doosan ranked at the bottom vs LHP last year with just a .086 ISO and the lowest average in the league. Koo has been arguably one of the best pitchers early on this season. The Dinos have been playing amazing too and are the best team in the league right now. Although he’s very expensive in a tough matchup, I like the upside he’s been bringing to the table here and could be lower owned given his price and matchup.

Je Seong Bae

Team: HAN @ KTW
Price: $6,900 | $25
Matchup: BA (7th) | OPS (9th) | SO (4th) | BB (10th)
Notes:
I actually have some interest in both starters here today. Bae had a shaky first start, but really came back firing last start with 7 K’s over 7 innings of work. I don’t like his FD price, but on DK he’s great value against a team in HAN that is striking out a ton, not taking walks and ranking in the bottom of the league in most stats.  I lean on the side of the pitchers here with each offense not really doing the best right now.
Format: ALL (great value on DK, more GPP on FD)

Min Jae Jang

Team: HAN v KTW
Price$7,200 | $21
Matchup: BA (10th) | OPS (10th) | SO (7th) | BB (5th)
Notes: Here is my thing with this game. Use HAN on FD for that cheap price and use Bae on DK for a little more savings. Jang is the same way with Bae having a rough first game, but coming back strong in his second start. On DraftKings, pick which ever side you favor and use that pitcher on DK. last year KT was near the bottom in ISO and in the middle of the pack in average. This year, KTW has been a bit better than HAN, so more of a GPP play for me as I prefer Jang on DK for cash games.
Format: Value on FD, GPP on DK

Tyler Wilson

Team: LG @ SAM
Price$7,500 | $26
Matchup: BA (9th) | OPS (9th) | SO (4th) | BB (7th)
Notes: Don’t like the price on FD, if im going to go up there on FD I’m just going to use NC but on DK I don’t mind using Wilson. I did see that Razzle has him as CORE on DK right now, but I don’t feel fully comfortable doing that just yet. He got lit up in his first start, but came back strong in his second one. My worry is the Twins still keep his pitch count down and if Samsung can work counts he may not be able to go too deep. With that being said, SAM ranks at the bottom of the league in average and striking out a ton too. His price is nice on DK right in the middle and using 2 guys in this price range may be the way to go here tonight.

Honorable KBO Pitching Mentions

Chae Heung Choi ($7,700 | $24) – Fanduel has been tough with their pricing but he’s middle of the road on DK tonight. I prefer some other options, but won’t hate if you went here. He’s faced two middle of the road offenses this year but seeing a lefty, teams can tend to struggle in the KBO against lefties. LG didn’t fare all that amazing against LHP last season and Choi has 12 K’s in 11 innings this year so far. I think it’s worth the risk in some GPPs here today if making 10+ lineups.

Dan Straily ($7,000 | $23) – After two decent starts, Straily fell off the wagon last start. I’m leaving him for GPPs here though, but has upside as he did show an 11 K effort this year against SK. KIA ranks 2nd in the league in strikeouts so far this season and he’s still pretty cheap. I’m still interested to see how he will fare in the KBO but after 2 good starts and 1 rough one, I see him doing pretty well here.
