Esports – LEC 4/3 Playoff Slate Notes

Notes for Today’s 12pm ET LEC Slate

2 Game Playoff (Best of 5) Slate

Games

G2 (-1600) vs MAD (+650)

G2 are the most dominant team in the LEC. They have been the best for years and really have not had much competition besides Fnatic. They play extremely aggressive and will fight you like an LPL team at all stages of the game if they have to. They can also play it slow and methodical if necessary, and that often happens in playoffs games. They are one of the most talented teams in the world with star players in each role and fantastic synergy. MAD typically have been a come from behind team and picked up a lot of their victories that way this split. G2 are the best team in the league at punishing any mistakes. If MAD decide to give G2 an inch, they will turn that into a mile. I don’t expect G2 to blow MAD out of the water every single game, and MAD can possibly even win a game if G2 disrespects too hard. I do not consider that extremely likely, so I will take G2 in this match up.

Players to watch (G2): Caps, Jankos, Mikyx
Players to watch (MAD): Carzzy, Humanoid

FNC (-190) vs OG (+135)

This will be an interesting game. OG are typically very good against weaker teams as they play a controlled and objective focused style. They have always struggled against teams like FNC and G2 because they both push the tempo and cause chaos in the game. Origen have typically not handled this well, although they did beat Fnatic in a playoff series last year. Fnatic have all the skill to match Origen one on one, and I think they have the stylistic advantage. If Origen continue doing the same thing and hoping it will work against Fnatic/G2 I don’t think they will be successful. This game is close enough to go to 4-5 games, but in the end I think Fnatic will come out on top.
Players to watch (FNC): Rekkless, Bwipo, Nemesis
Players to watch (OG): Upset, Alphari, Xerxe

Favourite stacks: G2 > FNC > OG >> MAD
