Esports – OPL/LPL 4/24 2am ET

Notes for Tonight’s 4/24 OPL/LPL 2am ET Slate

This is the grand final for the Oceanic Pro League featuring Dire Wolves and Legacy eSports. This also includes the TES/WE LPL playoff game. All these games are best of 5 and will be completed on the same day.

LGC (-425) vs DW (+280)

Legacy Esports is the top team in the OPL. They finished first in the regular season standings and they had a very impressive 18-3 record in the regular season. They defeated Dire Wolves in all 3 games that they played during the regular season and defeated the 2nd best team the Chiefs handily 3-1 in the playoffs. DW did upset the Chiefs in their loser bracket match to get to the final but it was a close one 3-2. LGC are rightly the large favourite in this game and I think they will win this series 3-0 or 3-1. DW probably won’t do too much in this series but since they did upset the 2nd best team to get here, maybe there is a small chance they win but I am not taking that chance. I am rolling with LGC and think they will crush this series.

Players to watch (LGC): Raes (ADC), Babip (JNG), Isles (SUP)
Players to watch (DW): Mir (JNG), Shok (MID), Vital (ADC)

TES (-425) vs WE (+280)

WE managed to pull off the Estar upset in what was mostly a one-sided series. They showcased some new play-styles where they were able to win from behind, something they have not been able to do all season before that series. They still showed their grouping strategy where they run around as a 5 man unit and disrupt the game that way. I think they have been playing extremely well and are excellent at understanding their win conditions and playing for them. I am very impressed by the improvement they have shown over the course of the season and playoffs.

TES are just a different animal. With JackeyLove TES look like one of the best teams in the world, as they massively upgraded their weakest position. He also brings the massive shot calling edge that TES needed and with him and Knight that is one of the most deadly carry duos in the world. TES typically aren’t as skirmish heavy as WE is, but they have shown that they can take down the best fighting teams when necessary. They have the ability to play many different styles. I expect TES to win this series 3-1 because I do believe WE are playing well enough to win at least one game. There should be plenty of action in this series.

Players to watch (TES): JackeyLove (ADC), Knight (MID), Karsa (JNG)
Players to watch (WE): Jiumeng (ADC), Beishang (JNG), Missing (SUP)
