DFS Army Daily Horse Racing Form and Guide on Fanduel – Gulfstream 4/4/2020

Welcome to rebel DFS! We are all tired of staring at the same 4 walls and hopefully the alcohol rations haven’t run out. Today’s installment is the Fanduel DFS Horse Racing slate. We are back for another day of the hottest new DFS contest based off live action. I can’t wait to see what today brings.

Before we get into the slate lets cover a few basics. The slate consists of 10 races at Gulfstream Park. After yesterday, these horses will leave you scratching your head. We want to pick as many horses that will finish in the top 4 of each race, although ideally win. A few terms to cover that I might use are:

  • Beyer Speed – Relative speed of the horse for the race, track, and vs other horses.

  • Win – self-explanatory.

  • Place – 2nd

  • Show – 3rd

  • Underneath – finishing in 3rd or 4

  • Bounce – couple different ways this could go but the most common is that it ran too fast and had too hard a race the previous time out that it cannot return anything close to a normal ride this time out. I’ll explain other scenarios when I see them or in slack, if you like.

  • Inside post – posts 1 to 3

  • Middle post – posts 4 to 7

  • Outside post – posts 8 or higher

Anything else will be explained on the fly. I will make recommendations for each race but you are free to deviate as you see fit.

Andddd we’re off!

Race 1

This is a packed race going 1 mile on the turf. For this type of race at this track, we are looking for a speed horse or one that likes to run late coming from the middle of the starting gate. Typical winning beyer are about 80. This is a tough race to call as I don’t see a best-fit horse. Where I’m at is:

  • (5) Big Treasure (8/1) – this horse has the position and it has the speed, going by the numbers, but looking at its history it looks like it could be vulnerable. ⭐⭐

  • (8) Blessed Journey (2/1) – running as the favorite for now but I have questions about its running style and whether it has the speed. ⭐⭐

  • (12) Duelist (9/2) – this is an interesting horse due to its finishing ability. I’m not sure if there is a better horse down the stretch in this race. I don’t like that it has such a long run from the outside but, if it can find a good line, it could burn up the turf. ⭐

Race 2

This 1 mile trip on the dirt should generally benefit horses who like to run early. Ideally, we are looking at post positions from the inside towards the middle. Typical winning beyer speed figures are about 89.

  • (3) So Long Chuck (7/2) – this horse has speed to burn and has a leg up on the competition, as it drops in class. I like the 3 to win. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (6) Dexter Road (12/1) – the late speed is there. This horse also loves the dirt. I think it’s a solid value as most of its recent runs have been on the turf, where it hasn’t performed well. I like it to perform well today. ⭐⭐⭐1/2

Race 3

We’re running 6 furlongs on the dirt. An early or speed running style should do just fine with this race. Normally, we want a horse in the inside or middle posts but I’m interested in the outside horses, mostly. We also want to see roughly a 72 beyer speed.

  • (8) Toonie Loonie (9/2) – this horse looks like it checks the boxes. It has good early speed but also has something left at the end so as not to get completely overtaken . ⭐⭐⭐

  • (11) Bella Gianna (12/1) – pretty much what i said for the 8 applies to the 11, but this horse is also dropping in class. I expect the 11 to get vet down pre-race. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Race 4

Race 4 is a 6.5 furlong trip on the dirt. A 82 beyer has usually been necessary to take it down. The edge will be given to the early runners. The race has seen the bulk of the winner’s come from the inside post positions. My favorite plays are:

  • (1) Mighty Fast (6/1) – the 1 horse has really good speed. I feel like this is not a late runner as listed and it will like the early pace. ⭐⭐⭐

  • (2) Uno Baby Bird (6/1) – plenty of speed up top and I think the shorter distance will leave it with a little more in the tank at the end. I could see the 1 and 2 duking it out for the title. ⭐⭐⭐

Race 5

This race will take us 5 furlongs on the turf. I am looking to the inside and middle horses to have the edge. This race has also seen an advantage to the early runners. Average winning beyer is 75.

  • (1) Little Bella (2/1) – this is the favorite and My preferred horse for this race. It has very good speed and its dropping in class. Win contender. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (9) Moon Eyes (5/2) – another horse that drops in class and showcases very good speed. Win contender. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (6) Onezy’s Dream (15/1) – in my pool as an underneath play. ⭐⭐⭐

  • (2) Broadway Peggy (12/1) – an underneath play. Good speed but not top level. ⭐⭐1/2

Race 6

We are back on the dirt going 6.5 furlongs. Early runners have had success, especially coming from the inside post positions. The race typically has a good pace, with the winner gaining an 79 beyer. 3 horses fit the bill for me.

  • (4) Bardot (2/1) – this is a new horse but has looked good in workouts, a solid pedigree and a trainer/jockey combo that is stellar. I’m confident in its prospects. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (9) May Day Info (8/1) – I think this horse is better suited to Sprint and this should be a field in which it can perform well. ⭐⭐1/2

  • (8) Kozy Dreams (6/1) – another first-timer out there but the pedigree is good and I would not be shocked to see it come in underneath. ⭐⭐

Race 7

We’re going 1 mile on the turf. The late running horses have success. This race tends to have a mid-post bias. We are looking for a moderate pace with a beyer speed of 80.

  • (10) Mystical Moon (9/2) – this horse leaves some running for the end which should help it to hit the board. ⭐⭐

  • (7) Im The Captain Now (3/1) – the 7 horse is dropping in class and it might look like it can improve at a shorter distance. I’ll take these speed numbers. ⭐⭐⭐

Race 8

We are still running a mile on the turf. We still want the same attributes as the 7 race. An 82 beyer or better is what we desire.

  • (2) Ghostly Beauty (3/1) – a horse with speed and a good late kick. Probably underneath. ⭐⭐⭐3/4

  • (7) Hotty Toddy (6/1) – this horse has been improving and it has a lot of speed at the end. I think there is some win upside here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (9) Here Comes Jackie (10/1) – likes to run just off the pace and has the best overall speed in the field. I think it comes in underneath. ⭐⭐⭐

Race 9

A 92 beyer is desired for the 6 furlong trip on the dirt. We want a speed or early running horse here and they can start on the inside or in the middle.

  • (5) Inter Miami (5/2) – I can’t not love this horse. This field is not that good and this horse has a ton of early speed. It also drops in class! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (3) Peruvian Boy (6/1) – there is good overall speed while having something left at the end but I have a hard time using anyone but the 5. ⭐⭐

Race 10

An 89 beyer is desired for the 1 mile trip on the dirt. We want a late-running horse from the middle.

  • (8) Class and Cash (4/1) – loads of speed and a win contender ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (11) Halladay (6/1) – a horse that has been running well and it doesnt need the lead so I think it sits off pace and uses it’s stretch speed to make up ground. I like it to hit the board.

Race 11

A 93 beyer is desired for the 7 furlong trip on the dirt. We want a early-running horse from the inside or outside

  • (7) Masterday (8/1) – very good speed here and it drops in class. I like this horse to hit the board. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (3) I’ll Fight Dempsey (9/5) – loads of speed and a win contender ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Race 12

An 80 beyer is desired for the 1 mile trip on the dirt. We want a late-running horse from the middle.

  • (4) Sweet Story (8/1) – good speed and a good jockey. I like it to hit the board⭐⭐⭐

  • (8) Avenida Manana (9/5) – excellent speed vs the field. Win contender. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • (7) Yako (8/1) – speed is there to make it underneath. ⭐⭐

We can talk about other horses but these are my plays for now. I’ll see ya in the chat. Good Luck!
