Atlanta

Both the Xfinity and Truck Series races will be ran on the same day this week. Be prepared for a quick Turnaround for both series this week. Atlanta Motor Speedway is a 1.5 mile high banked quad-oval with one of the best racing surfaces in all of auto racing. Due to the age of the racing surface we a significant amount of tire wear that leads to great racing throughout a green flag run. We will see lap times fall off between three & five seconds throughout a green flag run making long run speed incredibly important. The smoothest drivers who can take care of their tires the best will have a real advantage. Overall there are very few cautions in any race here at Atlanta as drivers are more concerned with racing the track than other drivers. This means low DNF rates and makes it easier for a single dominator. As of now, the weather looks good for Saturday but with rain scheduled for every other day of the next week, we will have to wait and see if it could have an impact on these races.

The DFS Army started out the NASCAR season by crushing the competition. It continued last week with Army member Beavis30 utilizing our Domination Station and VIP coaches notes to take down 1st place and $70k. Race Preview

For years Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch tormented the field here giving us race after race of 1 dominator performances. Last year, Christopher Bell took over that role absolutely crushing the field. Based on this history we will be very focused on finding the one driver who has their car setup perfectly and can control this race. I would roll with an”at most two” dominator gameplan overall but with the understanding that we could see one driver leading 90% of the laps. Place differential as a result will be crucial. There are a lot of young drivers in the field this year who have very little understanding of how significant tire fall off will be. We will need to pay close attention to long run practice speeds to find the elite plays. We see very few cautions here. Long run speed is EVERYTHING.

There are 36 cars on the entry list so all 36 cars will make the race

Race Preview

We see the dominator lead anywhere from 65-100 laps. They are usually capable of closing the race well and finishing in the top 3. I also think a strong #2 will be needed. This driver tends to lead 30-40 laps and will collect a decent amount of fast laps. Even if this is the pole sitter who falls back to 5th they will still score in the 60-65 point range. Next up will be finding drivers with position upside starting outside the top 10. In each of the past five races we have seen 4-5 drivers start 11th-25th finish inside the top 10. Lots of position upside to be had.

There are 38 Trucks on the entry list but only 32 drivers will qualify for the race. SIX drivers will not qualify for the race. Make sure you do not have any of these drivers in your lineups!!
