Full Court Press:

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 221

Vegas Spread: Det -6.5

This article is written with a heavy heart as we mourn the passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and the other six people on that helicopter yesterday. No matter your religious views or rooting interests in the game of basketball, Kobe Bryant will go down as one of the most remembered players of all-time. I usually don’t touch on things outside of the games that are taking place, but sometimes things are greater than basketball and Daily Fantasy Sports. I’m fortunate enough to have the platform that I do and something of this magnitude deserves a moment of recognition. Take a second today to appreciate the loved ones in your life as nothing is guaranteed on this Earth, as just Saturday night we witnessed Kobe congratulate LeBron on passing him on the all-time scoring list. Gone but never forgotten. #MambaMentality

We kick this six-game slate off with the Cleveland Cavaliers as they travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons. This isn’t the greatest matchup for Kevin Love as he will need to deal with Andre Drummond down low, but that should impact Tristan Thompson more than him. I have no issue with getting some Love here. Speaking of Tristan Thompson, he’s averaging 43.9 Draftkings points in three matchups against the Pistons this season. It seems as if he matches up really well with Drummond and I like going back to him in GPPs. Collin Sexton continues to play very consistent basketball, the Pistons aren’t all that great on defense and he is someone that I like getting to in all formats. Lastly, Larry Nance seems to have gotten back into the swing of things, I think he makes sense as a secondary option. From the Pistons, Andre Drummond is absolutely crushing the Cavs on the year. He is averaging 60.8 Draftkings points per game in three matchups against them this season, he’s an elite play again tonight. Derrick Rose continues to play big minutes and has at least 45 Draftkings points in two of his last four games, he’s a nice option as well. The rest of this team is really just GPP plays for me, Svi Mykhailiuk, Reggie Jackson and Bruce Brown being my favorites.

5-star play: Andre Drummond

4-star play:  Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Collin Sexton, Derrick Rose

Deeper Value: Reggie Jackson

GPP Sleeper: Reggie Jackson, Svi Mykhailiuk, Bruce Brown

Orlando Magic @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has been one of the more consistent big men in the league this season and scored 47.8 Draftkings points against the Heat earlier this season. It’s not the greatest matchup, but he’s proven he can handle it. Markelle Fultz has seen his price come up to a point where I don’t love him in a slow-paced matchup. Lastly, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier are fine secondary options, but nobody that I’m in love with. From the Heat, the whole damn team is questionable. Jimmy Butler, Kendrick Nunn, and Goran Dragic are all legit questionable while Bam Adebayo is probable. It’s hard to breakdown this backcourt until we get news on who is in and who’s out, so keep an eye on updates from our Breaking News Feed in regards to them. Bam Adebayo is someone we can breakdown as it sounds like he’ll play, he’s been in good form for the most part over his past few games, scoring at least 40 Draftkings points in three of his last four games.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Bam Adebayo

4-star play: Markelle Fultz, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, Heat (TBD)

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper:  Aaron Gordon, Markelle Fultz, Heat (TBD)

Dallas Mavericks @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Mavericks, Luka Doncic is one of the top raw options on the slate, but we do have that James Harden fella coming up in the later game that we’ll need to consider. He’s an elite play and there’s really no disputing that. I don’t love Kristaps Porzingis as he isn’t getting a ton of minutes and will have to deal with a tough frontcourt here, he’s GPP only for me. Willie Cauley-Stein may be available here if he does play I’ll use it as a wait-and-see game and see how they plan to use him and what rotations he’ll be apart of. Lastly, Tim Hardaway is a fine GPP option to round out this team. From the Thunder, Chris Paul is playing great basketball right now, I like him for cash games as the consistency appears to be there. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has at least 43 Draftkings points in two of his last three games, I like him as a hybrid option here as well. Danilo Gallinari has 40+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games, I never really land on him and I’m not sure why, but I like him here. Steven Adams returned last game and didn’t look all that great in 25 minutes of work. I would expect him to be right there around 25 minutes again here, he’s more of a GPP option as well. Lastly, Dennis Schroeder is really playing well right now, the Mavs play opposing guards tough but he makes sense on a shorter slate.

5-star play: Luka Doncic

4-star play: Chris Paul, Dennis Schroeder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway, Steven Adams

San Antonio Spurs @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 218.0

Vegas Spread: Sas -2.0

Starting with the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan is on a tear right now and gets a nice matchup with a Bulls team that isn’t exactly great on defense, I certainly won’t talk you off of DDR here. LaMarcus Aldridge should be able to have a field day with this banged-up Bulls frontcourt, I love him in this spot. He’s playing a ton of minutes right now. Derrick White has surpassed Dejounte Murray in a sense and really playing good basketball. I do like the price on Murray as a GPP option, however. White has scored at least 31 Draftkings points in three of his last four games. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine is coming off a huge 72 point Draftkings outing and the Spurs are pretty dreadful against opposing guards, I love him in this spot. Kris Dunn has locked in some good minutes lately and gets the same poor defense that LaVine does, he makes sense in his range. Tomas Satoransky is also coming off a pretty big 41.5 Draftkings point game, he’s not my favorite option but I won’t talk you off of him if you’re interested. Lastly, Thaddeus Young will continue to see big minutes while Markkanen is out, he makes sense as a nice value option.

5-star play: DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, Zach LaVine

4-star play: Derrick White, Kris Dunn, Tomas Satoransky, Thaddeus Young

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Dejounte Murray, Luke Kornet, Coby White

Sacramento Kings @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 226.0

Vegas Spread: Min -3.0

Starting with the Kings, De’Aaron Fox has seen his production come down a bit over his past few games. That said, this is an elite matchup for him against a Wolves team that plays little defense. Marvin Bagley and Richaun Holmes are out again here which opens the door for Nemanja Bjelica to have a good amount of opportunity here. Also, keep an eye out for their starting lineup, if Dewayne Dedmond is in it, I love him as a value option. Buddy Hield is playing great basketball as of late and this is the game environment I like targeting him in, fast-paced and little defense. Lastly, Bogdan Bogdanovic still feels like he’s priced too high for his production right now. From the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has 50+ Draftkings points in four straight games and should have no issue doing what he wants against this banged up frontcourt, he’s an elite option. Andrew Wiggins is very similar to Buddy Hield on the other side of the ball but with a little more consistency. He scored 42 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this year. Shabazz Napier is coming off a career game in which he dropped a triple-double on the Thunder, I like going right back to him even at an elevated cost. Lastly, Robert Covington is a fine player as a last piece guy, but nobody that I’m forcing in on this slate.

5-star play: De’Aaron Fox, Nemanja Bjelica, Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Buddy Hield, Dewayne Dedmond, Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Napier, Robert Covington

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Dewayne Dedmond, Robert Covington

Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

We will start with the Rockets where we have a bit of a mess on our hands. Russell Westbrook has been ruled out for rest purposes and James Harden has been ruled doubtful. With these two off the court, there will be A TON of usage to go around, the sample size is not huge but here is who benefits most on the team…

  • Eric Gordon – 39.1% usage rate; 1.41 fantasy points per minute
  • Chris Clemons – 33.9% usage rate; 1.28 fantasy points per minute
  • Clint Capela – 18.3% usage rate; 1.94 fantasy points per minute

These three guys look like elite plays on the surface, the one that seems risky to me is Chris Clemons, but at min price, it’s hard to pass up. I would also expect guys like Austin Rivers and Ben McLemore to get good run and be nice plays at their price point, Danuel House as well. From the Jazz, I doubt the Rockets will be able to keep this one close with their two superstars on the bench so blowout is a real factor here. That said, Rudy Gobert has 50+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games and is a nice secondary option. Donovan Mitchell should be able to do whatever he wants against this banged up backcourt, I like him here as a GPP option. Both Bojan Bogdanovic and Joe Ingels are fine GPP options as well, but nobody that I’m forcing in for cash games.

5-star play: Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, Rudy Gobert

4-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles, Ben McLemore, Austin Rivers

Deeper Value: Chris Clemons, Austin Rivers

GPP Sleeper: Chris Clemons, Austin Rivers, Ben McLemore
