Full Court Press:

Houston Rockets @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Rockets, James Harden is really in pretty bad form considering where he was a week or two ago. He is questionable today and that’s some big news that we will be waiting on. If Harden is ruled out it’s a huge boost to Russell Westbrook who would become one of the best raw plays on the slate. It would also open the door for value guys like Danuel House, Ben McLemore, and Austin Rivers. But we will wait for the news for Harden. Clint Capela has been pretty decent in this matchup this season, averaging 39 Draftkings points per game in three games this season. He would also benefit from Harden being out but gets a tough matchup with Jokic. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has 50+ Draftkings points in four of his last five games and averaging 45.2 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Rockets this season. He’s seeing his assist equity go up as well with Murray off the court. Jamal Murray will be out again here and Will Barton has stepped up accordingly with Murray off the court, I love the matchup as well. He will take on a much bigger role in this offense and is a nice play again here. Monte Morris and Malik Beasley will take over the point guard minutes, they’ve been pretty volatile in their bigger roles, they’re both GPP plays in a good matchup. Michael Porter Jr’s price tag has skyrocketed but for good reason. He will see a minutes bump with Murray off the court as well, but makes for an intriguing GPP fade as they are careful with the youngster’s minutes.

5-star play: James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Nikola Jokic

4-star play:  Clint Capela, Will Barton, Michael Porter Jr.

Deeper Value: Danuel House, Ben McLemore, Austin Rivers

GPP Sleeper: Jerami Grant, Ben McLemore, Austin Rivers, PJ Tucker

Toronto Raptors @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 223

Vegas Spread: Tor -3.0

Starting with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam saw his minutes and production come back up over his last few games, this is a fairly nice matchup for him, I like him as a secondary option. Kyle Lowry looks to be negatively impacted by the return of Siakam and VanVleet as this team begins to get healthy. I don’t love him in this spot, but he’s seen his minutes come back up over the past two games. Serge Ibaka finally had a decent night his last time out, that said, he’s similar to Lowry, I’ll like him more with guys off the court. Lastly, Fred VanVleet has quickly turned himself into the most expensive option on this team, the Spurs really struggle against opposing guards on the season, VanVleet is an awesome play. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan is on a tear right now and gets a matchup with his old team, he scored 44 Draftkings points in this spot earlier this season. The price is starting to get to a point where I need to question the play a little, but he’s just been too consistent. LaMarcus Aldridge has bounced back a bit and has scored 34+ Draftkings points in five straight games and coming off a massive 59 point Draftkings outing a few games ago. He’s playing a ton of minutes right now. Derrick White has surpassed Dejounte Murray in a sense and really playing good basketball. I do like the price on Murray as a GPP option, however.

5-star play: Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, DeMar DeRozan

4-star play: Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge, Derrick White

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kyle Lowry, Dejounte Murray

Brooklyn Nets @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: Nyk -1.5

Starting with the Knicks, Julius Randle draws a great matchup here, we’ve been targeting big men against the Nets all season so why stop now? He’s averaging 36.8 Draftkings in three matchups with the Nets this season. RJ Barrett has been ruled out for this game, below are the guys who benefit most from his injury…

  • Julius Randle – 27.7% usage rate; 1.21 fantasy points per minute
  • Marcus Morris – 25.4% usage rate; 0.98 fantasy points per minute
  • Elfrid Payton – 20.6% usage rate; 1.02 fantasy points per minute

There isn’t a huge sample size on him being out so we will need to keep an eye on this team for future games as it sounds like he’ll miss more than a few games. The biggest benefactor in the backcourt to me would be Elfrid Payton who will take a lot more of the ball-handling duties. From the Nets, Kyrie Irving is playing huge minutes and is coming off a massive 65 point Draftkings points, this is an elite spot for him. Spencer Dinwiddie was moved back to the bench last game, I much prefer him in this role as he can control the usage in the second unit and minutes are still there. Jarrett Allen had a huge game last night and I think you can go right back to him here as long as DeAndre Jordan is still out. The rest of this team is GPP plays.

5-star play: Julius Randle, Kyrie Irving

4-star play: Marcus Morris, Elfrid Payton, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson, Taurean Prince, Joe Harris

Los Angeles Clippers @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Clippers, it sounds like Paul George is out again for this matchup which gives a boost to the rest of the team. Below are the biggest benefactors and how they grade out with George off the court this season.

  • Kawhi Leonard – 37.1% usage rate; 1.63 fantasy points per minute
  • Lou Williams – 30% usage rate; 1.21 fantasy points per minute
  • Montrezl Harrell – 27.6% usage rate; 1.23 fantasy points per minute

These three are all great plays even in a not so great matchup. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has been one of the more consistent big men in the league this season and the center position is the one position that the Clippers struggle with. Markelle Fultz has seen his price come up to a point where I don’t love him in a slow-paced matchup. Lastly, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier are fine secondary options, but nobody that I’m in love with.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Kawhi Leonard

4-star play:  Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, Markelle Fultz, Evan Fournier

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper:  Aaron Gordon

Boston Celtics @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

It seems like someone on the Celtics is always banged up, tonight it is Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Enes Kanter. Brown and Tatum are both questionable while Kanter is out. Kanter being out will open things up for Daniel Theis who has at least 30 Draftkings points in two straight games. I will operate under the assumption that both Brown and Tatum are in here for the sake of this article. Both are great options here in a pace up game for the Pelicans. Kemba Walker has 60+ Draftkings points in two of his last four games and is one of the best options on the slate if either Tatum or Brown sit in such a great matchup. Marcus Smart is a little pricier than I would like, but if Brown is out he’s a nice option in this matchup. Finally, Gordon Hayward will be completely dependent on who plays and who doesn’t, but right now I’m not all that huge on him. From the Pelicans, Zion Williamson took the world by storm since playing his first game on Wednesday night. He saw 21 minutes in his last game and I would expect him to be around 25 minutes here. He’s not the worst option, but I don’t see the upside until he’s up to full minutes. Brandon Ingram has seen his price come way down but isn’t in the best of form, which could be a result of this team getting healthier. He scored just 30.3 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season. Jrue Holiday has been pretty consistent as of late and is at price range where I wouldn’t mind getting to him. Lonzo Ball continues to play massive minutes and scored 46.8 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season, he’s a nice play as Kemba isn’t exactly an all-world defender.

5-star play: Kemba Walker

4-star play:  Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Daniel Theis, Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Jrue Holiday, Lonzo Ball, Zion Williamson

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper:  Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Brandon Ingram

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total: 240.5

Vegas Spread: Atl -1.5

This game has a MASSIVE implied total which means we’ve got some DFS gold on our hands, let’s jump in. Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young has scored at least 56.5 Draftkings points in four of his last six games. The Wizards play zero defense, this is an elite spot for him. John Collins is in a similarly great spot, the Wizards have struggled against opposing big men all season long. Collins scored 44.8 Draftkings points in this spot earlier this season. Kevin Huerter’s price has come down to a more playable level, however, he’s not in great form, the matchup is what puts him in play here. From the Wizards, Bradley Beal has 50+ Draftkings points in two straight games and gets an elite matchup here. Davis Bertans doesn’t appear to be on a minute restriction any longer and also sees a great matchup if he can get his shots falling. Ish Smith continues to play well and has scored at least 28 Draftkings points in three of his last four games and has clearly surpassed Isaiah Thomas on the depth chart. Lastly, Jordan McRae isn’t in the greatest form lately and is a deep GPP option at best as this team begins to get healthy.

5-star play: Trae Young, Bradley Beal, John Collins

4-star play: Davis Bertans, Ish Smith, Kevin Huerter

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Ish Smith, Jordan McRae

Phoenix Suns @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 235.5

Vegas Spread: Mem -2.5

This is another game with a massive game total, as the Grizzlies are one of the fastest teams in the league. Starting with the Grizzlies, Ja Morant has seen his price come down and is averaging 30.7 Draftkings points in three games against the Suns this season. Jonas Valanciunas is in good form and has scored 31.5 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Suns this season. Lastly, Jaren Jackson and Dillion Brooks make sense as secondary plays. From the Suns, Devin Booker continues to play out of his mind and has scored 50+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games and playing nearly 40 minutes per game. He’s a great option. DeAndre Ayton has seen his production fall off a bit over his last two games, it’s not the best matchup but I don’t hate it. Ricky Rubio has been held under 20 Draftkings points in two straight games, however, in a great matchup, I don’t have an issue going back to him. Kelly Oubre is a GPP to round out this team.

5-star play: Ja Morant, Devin Booker

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, Dillion Brooks, Kelly Oubre, DeAndre Ayton, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, Dillion Brooks

Indiana Pacers @ Portland Trailblazers

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Pacers, this is a pretty nice matchup for Domantas Sabonis he’s been a bit volatile as of late but I’ll chalk that up to difficult matchups, I like him here. Malcolm Brogdon is out here, let me act surprised, the guy is a bit like Marvin Bagley and can’t seem to stay healthy… and yes there’s a little bit of Bucks bias there. With Brogdon off the court, we may see TJ McConnell get the start who has been in great form. TJ Warren gets a nice little boost as well and is in great form coming off of a 53 point Draftkings outing. Myles Turner is in the same boat, I love attacking Hassan Whiteside defense with opposing centers. From the Blazers, CJ McCollum is likely to return here which takes Damian Lillard out of play in his range. Hassan Whiteside has been a bit volatile as of late but I don’t mind going right back to him in GPPs. Lastly, Carmelo Anthony and Trevor Ariza are fine GPP options.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis

4-star play: TJ Warren, Myles Turner, Hassan Whiteside, CJ McCollum

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: TJ Warren, Myles Turner, Carmelo Anthony, Trevor Ariza
