Full Court Press:

Milwaukee Bucks @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: 219

Vegas Spread: Mil -13.5

We’ve got a lone early game on this Friday, it’s unusual but it’s due to this game being in Paris! So fire up those Showdown lineups as a distraction from work! Starting with the Bucks, I would be a little worried about a blowout here meaning fewer minutes for Giannis Antetokounmpo who scored 45 Draftkings points in this matchup last time out against this Hornets team. That said, he’s an elite play nonetheless. Khris Middleton has at least 41 Draftkings points in two of his last three games, he’s a solid cash option. Eric Bledsoe is not in good form, he’s a fine GPP option but I would tend to lean fade until he picks it up a bit. Brook Lopez’s minutes are pretty secure here as his brother didn’t make the trip to Paris, he’s a nice GPP option as the Hornets have struggled with big men all season. Ersan Ilyasova makes sense as a value option with that said, as he’ll likely pick up the backup center minutes. From the Hornets, Devonte’ Graham isn’t in the greatest form, but he’s playing a ton of minutes. Terry Rozier had a dud game last time out, but has really played nice basketball as of late and always seems to kill the Bucks. This is a tough matchup for PJ Washington as he’ll likely have to deal with Giannis and Lopez down low. Miles Bridges played well in this matchup last time out making him viable for cash games.

5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo

4-star play: Devonte’ Graham, Terry Rozier, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez

Deeper Value: Ersan Ilyasova, George Hill, Malik Monk

GPP Sleeper: Eric Bledsoe, PJ Washington, Brook Lopez

Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

It seems like someone on the Celtics is always banged up, tonight it is Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Enes Kanter. Brown and Tatum are both questionable while Kanter is out. Kanter being out will open things up for Daniel Theis who’s coming off a nice 33.5 Draftkings point night last time out. I will operate under the assumption that both Brown and Tatum are in here for the sake of this article. Both are fine GPP options, but I don’t love this game in terms of DFS production. Kemba Walker had a bit of a dud last time out and is in the same category as Tatum and Brown. Marcus Smart has at least 31 Draftkings points in three of his last four games, he makes sense as a secondary option. Finally, Gordon Hayward will be completely dependent on who plays and who doesn’t, but right now I’m not all that huge on him. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has been one of the more consistent big men in the league this season and with Kanter out the C’s may be undersized, I like him as a GPP option. Markelle Fultz has seen his price come up to a point where I don’t love him in a slow-paced matchup. Lastly, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier are fine secondary options, but nobody that I’m in love with.

5-star play: Nikola Vucevic

4-star play:  Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Daniel Theis, Markelle Fultz

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper:  Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier

Memphis Grizzlies @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Grizzlies, Ja Morant is coming off a very bad game against the Celtics, but this should be a pretty nice bounce-back spot for him and has seen his price come way down. Jonas Valanciunas is in good form and likely has his minutes secure here as they’ll need his size against Drummond down low. I like him as a GPP option. Lastly, Jaren Jackson and Dillion Brooks make sense as secondary plays. From the Pistons, Andre Drummond is expected to play here and has scored 50+ in two straight games, tough to not like him this season. Derrick Rose continues to play big minutes and has scored at least 45 Draftkings points in two of his last three games. The Grizzlies are a fast-paced team that plays little defense, this is a nice spot for him. Svi Mykhailiuk is a guy that needs to shoot well to have a nice fantasy night, he’s a GPP option only. Lastly, Reggie Jackson returned last game and played 19 minutes on his way to a massive 38 Draftkings points. I wouldn’t expect that kind of production again and he’s seen his price comes up. Wait until his minute restriction is lifted.

5-star play: Ja Morant, Andre Drummond

4-star play: Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, Dillion Brooks, Derrick Rose

Deeper Value: Sekou Doumbouya

GPP Sleeper: Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, Dillion Brooks, Svi Mykhailiuk

Toronto Raptors @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 215.5

Vegas Spread: Tor -7.5

Starting with the Knicks, Julius Randle gets a pretty tough matchup here but has scored 35+ Draftkings points in nine of his last ten games, so he’s been pretty consistent. That said, he’s a GPP play due to the matchup. RJ Barrett has been ruled out for this game, below are the guys who benefit most from his injury…

  • Julius Randle – 27.7% usage rate; 1.21 fantasy points per minute
  • Marcus Morris – 26.1% usage rate; 1.01 fantasy points per minute

There isn’t a huge sample size on him being out so we will need to keep an eye on this team for future games as it sounds like he’ll miss more than a few games. The biggest benefactor in the backcourt to me would be Elfrid Payton who will take a lot more of the ball-handling duties. From the Raptors, Pascal Siakam saw his minutes and production come back up last game, this is a fairly nice matchup for him, I like him as a secondary option. Kyle Lowry looks to be negatively impacted by the return of Siakam and VanVleet as this team begins to get healthy. I don’t love him in this spot. Serge Ibaka finally had a decent night his last time out, that said, he’s similar to Lowry, I’ll like him more with guys off the court. Lastly, Fred VanVleet has quickly turned himself into the most expensive option on this team, he has 40+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton, Marcus Morris, Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson, Serge Ibaka, Kyle Lowry

Houston Rockets @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 234.5

Vegas Spread: Hou -5.5

This should be one of the fastest games on the slate, so we should be able to find some DFS gold here. Starting with the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns has played 30+ minutes and scored at least 50 Draftkings points in two straight games. It seems like he is officially back from injury, it’s not a great matchup, but he’s one of a handful of players with upside like he has. This is a game that I like Andrew Wiggins in, he has scored 46+ Draftkings points in two of his last three. Robert Covington is a nice consistent player at his price tag and makes some sense here. Lastly, both Shabazz Napier and Jarrett Culver will continue to see nice minutes with Teague out of the picture. From the Rockets, James Harden is really in pretty bad form and has been outperformed by Russell Westbrook who has scored 60+ Draftkings points in four straight games. Both Harden and Westbrook are elite plays here due to the matchup, but I tend to ride the hot hand in this situation. Clint Capela is in a nice spot here, KAT defense does not scare me, he’s a solid option in this range.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns, James Harden, Russell Westbrook

4-star play:  Shabazz Napier, Andrew Wiggins, Robert Covington, Clint Capela

Deeper Value: Danuel House

GPP Sleeper: Jarrett Culver

Los Angeles Clippers @ Miami Heat

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Heat, Bam Adebayo has been kind of volatile as of late but the one position that the Clippers struggle with is the center position so he makes sense for GPPs. Jimmy Butler is in fairly decent form but will likely draw either Kawhi or George defense here and is simply just not a good spot for him. Justise Winslow didn’t waste any time getting back on the injury report, he’s going to go see a specialist on his back, but will be out for this one. Both Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn are questionable here if they miss we may see some more James Johnson, Tyler Herro, and Duncan Robinson, so keep an eye on that situation. From the Clippers, it sounds like Paul George is getting close to returning here, I will operate under the assumption that he is playing. If he is out, be sure to check out the Breaking News Feed for updates. He’s an elite play here as long as he’s not on any kind of minutes limit. Kawhi Leonard has scored 60+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games but his price is representative of George missing. If George plays I don’t think I’ll be playing Leonard at this price tag. The same can be said for Lou Wiliams and Montrezl Harrell, they’re too expensive if George is active here, but you can make a case for GPPs.

5-star play: Bam Adebayo, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard

4-star play:  Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Duncan Robinson, James Johnson, Tyler Herro

Atlanta Hawks @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young missed last game and is questionable here. If he plays he is an elite option at this price tag and a matchup that really doesn’t scare me, the upside is huge.  John Collins is coming off a massive 67 point Draftkings night last time out, if Young is forced to miss again he will take on a ton of extra usage and shots, he’s still a nice play if Young is in as well. Although I would prefer Adams to be out again for the Thunder. Kevin Huerter’s price has come down to a more playable level, I like him for GPPs here if you land on him. Lastly, Jeff Teague has been less than impressive even with Young out last game, he’s a deep gpp flyer at best, but becomes a pretty nice option if Young sits again. Starting with the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in great form here and gets an elite matchup with the Hawks, he’s tough to ignore. Steven Adams is banged up here, I’ll wait until he’s back to full health before targeting him, although it’s a phenomenal matchup if we hear he won’t have a minutes limit. Him being out would open up minutes for Nerlens Noel who is also questionable, definitely news to keep an eye on. Chris Paul has scored 46+ Draftkings points in three of his last five games and seems to found his consistency. Danilo Gallinari makes sense as a secondary play in all formats while Dennis Schroeder is more of a GPP play as he’s not in the best of form.

5-star play: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Trae Young

4-star play: Danilo Gallinari, Nerlens Noel (If Adams is out), John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Jeff Teague (If Trae is out)

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Steven Adams, Dennis Schroeder

Sacramento Kings @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas Total: 221

Vegas Spread: Chi -2.0

Starting with Kings, De’Aaron Fox has come back down to Earth over his past few games and is scoring eight fewer Draftkings points per game on the road this season. Nemanja Bjelica has at least 33 Draftkings points in six of his last seven games and really playing nice minutes, he’s a secondary option. I don’t love the price on Buddy Hield but he dropped a 50 burger two games ago and will have these ceiling games every now and then, I like him as a GPP option as well. Harrison Barnes is a guy that I rarely get to because he has pretty much zero upside. Lastly, Bogdan Bogdanovic is priced too high for his role right now. From the Bulls, Zach LaVine has been playing out of his mind and playing a ton of minutes but has come down in the past two games. I like him to get back to form here. Lauri Markkanen has just felt overpriced over the past few weeks, he’s a deep GPP play at best due to his recent form. Lastly, Tomas Satoransky, Kris Dunn, and Thaddeus Young make sense as deep GPP options if you want to get more exposure to this game. Luke Kornet also makes sense as he’ll likely get a lot of the center minutes here.

5-star play: Zach LaVine, De’Aaron Fox

4-star play: Tomas Satoransky, Kris Dunn, Thaddeus Young, Buddy Hield, Nemanja Bjelica

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kris Dunn, Coby White, Luke Kornet

Denver Nuggets @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: 231

Vegas Spread: NO -3.5

Starting with the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has 50+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games and should be able to smash this frontcourt. He’s seeing his assist equity go up as well with Murray off the court. Jamal Murray will be out again here and Will Barton has stepped up accordingly with Murray off the court, I love the matchup as well. He will take on a much bigger role in this offense and is a nice play again here. Monte Morris and Malik Beasley will take over the point guard minutes, they’ve been pretty volatile in their bigger roles, they’re both GPP plays in a good matchup. Michael Porter Jr’s price tag has skyrocketed but for good reason, he’s scored at least 47 Draftkings points in two of his last three games and showing why people were so high on him coming out of college. He will see a minutes bump with Murray off the court as well, but makes for an intriguing GPP fade as they are careful with the youngster’s minutes. From the Pelicans, Zion Williamson took the world by storm on Wednesday night for about 13 minutes. I would still expect him to be on a minute limit of around 20 minutes here. He saw his price go up and it’s a bad matchup, I’ll be fading here. The Nuggets are a big pace down opponent for the Pels, so I don’t really love Jrue Holiday or Lonzo Ball. Brandon Ingram has flashed huge upside and nice consistency this season making him a viable play in all formats as well.

5-star play: Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Will Barton, Monte Morris, Michael Porter, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper:  JJ Redick, Josh Hart, Jrue Holiday

Phoenix Suns @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: 229

Vegas Spread: Pho -4.5

Starting the Suns, Devin Booker put up 52 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season. The Spurs have really struggled against opposing guards all season long. This makes Ricky Rubio a solid play as well, he’s averaging 45.5 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Spurs this season. DeAndre Ayton is coming off a bit of a dud but had 48+ Draftkings points in three straight games before that, I like him again here for cash as he’s proven consistency. Kelly Oubre returned last game and played 38 minutes, I’ll have at least a little interest in anyone playing that kind of minutes. From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan is on a tear right now and in a great matchup, he’s an elite play in all formats. LaMarcus Aldridge has bounced back a bit and has scored 35+ Draftkings points in four straight games and coming off a massive 59 point Draftkings outing. Dejounte Murray is a nice play as well in a pace up matchup as the Suns have struggled to guard opposing point guards all season long.

5-star play:  Devin Booker, DeMar DeRozan

4-star play: Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre, DeAndre Ayton, LaMarcus Aldridge, Dejounte Murray

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kelly Oubre, Dejounte Murray

Indiana Pacers @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Pacers, this is a pretty nice matchup for Domantas Sabonis he’s been a bit volatile as of late but I’ll chalk that up to difficult matchups, I like him here. Malcolm Brogdon is out here, let me act surprised, the guy is a bit like Marvin Bagley and can’t seem to stay healthy… and yes there’s a little bit of Bucks bias there. With Brogdon off the court, we may see TJ McConnell get the start who has been in great form. TJ Warren gets a nice little boost as well, he’s a GPP option. Myles Turner is in the same boat, not my favorite play, but not the worst either. From the Warriors, D’Angelo Russell has at least 50 Draftkings points in two of his last three games you can make a case for him in GPPs if you really want to. Damion Lee isn’t in great form, the price just doesn’t warrant where he is right now. I do like the price on Draymond Green however, he is always a triple-double threat. Lastly, Alec Burks is a fine GPP option, but nothing that I really love from him although he is coming off a career game against the Blazers.

5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, D’Angelo Russell, TJ McConnell (if he starts)

4-star play: TJ Warren, Myles Turner, Draymond Green, Alec Burks

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: TJ Warren, Myles Turner
