Full Court Press:

Miami Heat @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Heat, Bam Adebayo finally bounced back with a nice 45 point Draftkings outing last time out. This is another nice spot for him in which he has some nice upside for a two-game early slate. This is a similarly great spot for Jimmy Butler, he scored 34.3 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season but I love his upside here. Justise Winslow didn’t waste any time getting back on the injury report, he’s going to go see a specialist on his back, but will be out for this one. This means a boost for Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, and Tyler Herro. Dragic and Nunn are GPP options while I’ll likely fade Herro. From the Knicks, Julius Randle is probable here while Marcus Morris is questionable which should bring our Bobby Portis play to end at his price tag. It’s not the best matchup for Randle but on a two gamer, he has one of the better upsides on the slate if he’s not limited. Mitchell Robinson is not in great form and really hasn’t shown his upside lately, he’s a deep GPP play in a tough matchup. Elfrid Payton is elite upside every time he steps on the court, it’s not a great matchup but on a two-game slate, you could do worse. Lastly, I would expect RJ Barrett to get Jimmy Butler treatment here, he’s a fade for me.

5-star play: Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler

4-star play: Goran Dragic, Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Kendrick Nunn, RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson

Utah Jazz @ Washington Wizards

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Jazz, this is a huge pace up spot for them so we should be able to find some plays we like, a blowout is very possible but I would expect the stars to be the reason why. I don’t love the price tag on Donovan Mitchell due to his recent form, but this is an elite spot for him, I’ll likely hold him out for GPPs. Rudy Gobert continues to play 37-38 minutes per game and gets a great matchup here, it’s tough not to like him here, the Wizards simply don’t have the size to bang with him down low, we could have a Barbara Walters game in our future. Both Joe Ingles and Bojan Bogdanovic are playing well with Mike Conley off the court, they make for nice options as well. From the Wizards, Bradley Beal is questionable but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’ll play since he was able to get in a full practice on Saturday. As long as he isn’t limited he’s a great play and will be in control of this offense with all their injuries. If he’s out we can go right back to Jordan McRae but he may be too expensive if Beal is in. Troy Brown is a bit too volatile for me to like in cash but makes for a nice GPP option coming off one of his better games of the season last time out. The same can be said for Ish Smith, GPP only. Gary Payton is more of a GPP play if Beal sits, he’s been pretty volatile when given an opportunity.

5-star play: Rudy Gobert, Bradley Beal

4-star play: Joe Ingles, Bojan Bogdanovic, Donovan Mitchell, Jordan McRae (If Beal is out)

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Troy Brown, Gary Payton, Ish Smith

San Antonio Spurs @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 221

Vegas Spread: Tor -3.0

Starting with the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge has come back down to Earth over his past few games but is still producing some very consistent Draftkings outings lately, I like him against a banged-up Raptors front-court. DeMar DeRozan is coming off probably his best game of the season in which he scored 62.75 Draftkings points. He gets a revenge game here as he returns to Toronto, I like him a good deal here but I’m worried people will point chase that last game. I love the price on Dejounte Murray who has proven he can be a nice point per minute guy, he’s a nice GPP play. From the Raptors, Pascal Siakam is questionable here, but if he plays I would assume a minute restriction for him, so I’ll take it as a wait-and-see game for him. Kyle Lowry currently leads the league in minutes and the Spurs have been bad against opposing point guards all season long, tough not to like him here. If Siakam is back, Serge Ibaka maybe hit a bit but with Marc Gasol questionable I’m not all that worried about it. Lastly, I don’t love the price on Norman Powell but you could make a case for deep GPPs.

5-star play: Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan

4-star play: LaMarcus Aldridge, Dejounte Murray, Serge Ibaka

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Dejounte Murray, Norman Powell, OG Anunoby

Atlanta Hawks @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 230.5

Vegas Spread: Bkn -7.5

Starting with the Hawks, Trae Young his questionable here so we will need to keep an eye on that, but if he plays he’s averaging 63.9 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Nets this season, he would be an elite option. John Collins has proven massive upside already since returning from his suspension, we’ve been streaming big men against the Nets all season long, so why stop now? Kevin Huerter has seen his production come down a bit over the past two games, but if Young is ultimately ruled out, he would be there main ball-handler and three-point shooter. Alex Len has at least 29 Draftkings points in three of his last four and in a matchup against the Nets, he’s an elite GPP option. From the Nets, it sounds like Kyrie Irving is finally going to return here, however, I would assume he’s on a minute restriction, so this will be a wait and see spot for me. This will hurt Spencer Dinwiddie and I’ll treat him the same as Irving, fade until we know how to handle this situation. Jarrett Allen is averaging 36.9 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Hawks this season, he’s a nice secondary option. Lastly, both Taurean Prince and Caris LeVert make sense for secondary GPP options.

5-star play: Trae Young, John Collins

4-star play: Kevin Huerter, Alex Len, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Alex Len, Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie

Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Warriors, it sounds like D’Angelo Russell is going to play here. I would keep an eye out to see if he is on any type of minutes restriction. This is a nice pace up spot for the Warriors as the Grizzlies are playing at one of the higher paces in the league. With Russell back it will likely hurt  Alec Burks but I still think you can go there in GPPs. Damion Lee will likely also see a small downgrade but he’s in the same boat as Burks, still a fine GPP option. Marquese Chriss was let go from the team which will likely mean more minutes for guys like Glenn Robinson but would like him more if Draymond Green was out again (which he’s not). Willie Cauley-Stein has been pretty volatile lately, making him just a GPP option. Omari Spellman is actually playing great basketball for this team and is way too cheap right now, I like him a lot here. From the Grizzlies, I like Ja Morant a good amount here. The Warriors have struggled with opposing point guards this season. He’s averaging 38 Draftkings points per game in two matchups against the Warriors this season. Jaren Jackson is a GPP option because of his price, but he’s flashed some nice upside this season. Jonas Valanciunas has been pretty volatile as of late but flashed a huge ceiling. He’s averaging 25.5 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Warriors this season. Lastly, both Jae Crowder and Dillion Brooks are playing incredible basketball right now, they are both solid here as well.

5-star play: Omari Spellman, Ja Morant

4-star play:  Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, Jae Crowder, Dillion Brooks, Alec Burks, Damion Lee, D’Angelo Russell, Draymond Green

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Jonas Valanciunas, Jaren Jackson, D’Angelo Russell, Draymond Green

Los Angeles Clippers @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total:

Vegas Spread:

Starting with the Clippers, Paul George has already been ruled out for this game, here is who is impacted with George off the court this season…

  • Kawhi Leonard – 36.7% usage rate; 1.58 fpm
  • Lou Williams – 30.2% usage rate; 1.21 fpm
  • Montrezl Harrell – 27.4% usage rate; 1.24 fpm

These three guys are elite plays given the matchup and increased production. I don’t love the matchup against the Nuggets but it’s hard to argue with the production boost these guys will see. Also, it should be a close game so we don’t need to worry about a blowout here. From the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic is my favorite option on this team. The one position the Clippers have struggled with this season has been the center and he is in great form. Will Barton has scored at least 39 Draftkings points in three of his last four games, it’s a tough matchup but you can make a case for GPPs. Jamal Murray has 40+ Draftkings points in three of his last five games, similar to Barton, it’s not a great matchup but the upside puts him in play. Lastly, you can make a case for Jerami Grant with Paul Millsap still out with an injury.

5-star play: Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic

4-star play: Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, Will Barton, Jamal Murray

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Will Barton, Jamal Murray, Jerami Grant

Charlotte Hornets @ Phoenix Suns

Vegas Total: 219.5

Vegas Spread: Pho -8.0

Starting with the Hornets, Devonte’ Graham is playing a crazy amount of minutes right now but isn’t in the greatest form, I like the matchup for GPPs with that said. Terry Rozier has passed Graham in terms of salary and just playing better basketball right now, tough not to like him in a nice matchup. PJ Washington has flashed some upside recently and is priced nicely, I don’t hate him as a GPP option. Miles Bridges has been pretty volatile here so he’s GPP only until the consistency comes back. From the Suns, Devin Booker has at least 50 Draftkings points in four of his last six games, in a nice matchup, he should be able to do what he wants here. DeAndre Ayton is a pretty consistent 35-45 Draftkings points every night making him very playable for cash games. Kelly Oubre and Ricky Rubio round this game out as GPP options.

5-star play: Terry Rozier, Devin Booker

4-star play: Devonte’ Graham, DeAndre Ayton, Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: PJ Washington, Miles Bridges
