Welcome to the DFS Army NBA Free Squares article, where I will try to break down my favorite NBA Free Squares and Fanduel and Draftkings for Today’s NBA slate.

So what is a Free Square exactly? In DFS we define the Free Square as a player to build your lineups around. Generally, this player represents the closest we can find to a sure thing for the slate.

This column is all about trying to identify the free square for a particular slate. Often times, this will be a low-cost player who is thrust into a starting role and sure to make or exceed value. The type of player that allows us to load up the rest of our lineup with high salary studs. Occasionally it will be a high priced stud in a great spot. Each slate we will take a look at three or four players which represent great value on the day’s slate of games and choose the one which best represents the top value and floor play to earn the title of the slates Free Square

Lou Williams $6,300 / $5,200

Patrick Beverley is out today for the Clippers so Lou Williams is going to have the ball in his hands even more than normal. Last game he played 32 minutes vs the Jazz with Beverley out and scored 41.3 fantasy points. Today he get a juicy matchup against the Pistons who simply can’t stop opposing Guards this season. Over his last 4 games, Sweet Lou has scored 30+ in 3 of the 4 games and I’m expecting another big game here tonight. He’s a better value on Fanduel at just $5,200 so I’ll prioritize him on that site over Draftkings tonight.

The NBA Research Station is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half.

Jarrett Culver $5,000 / $4,300

The matchup for Culver is a juicy one against the Warriors who are flat out tanking the season. The T’Wvoles are dealing with a ton of injuries today, and Culver will keep his spot in the starting lineup for the time being. In his last 2 games, he has played 32 and 38 minutes and he has scored 30.1 and 43.5 fantasy points. He’s still very underpriced on Fanduel at just $4,300, and his Draftkings price of $5,000 isn’t pretty cheap as well given the opportunities he’ll have in this role.

Shabazz Napier has a similar situation and will be starting again tonight for the T’Wolves. He’s far too cheap on Fanduel at just $5,000 and he’s been playing great recently. Over his last two games, he has played 31 and 34 minute and he has scored 34.7 and 41.6 fantasy points in those games. The matchup vs the Warriors is a great one and I expect Culver and Napier to be two of the highest owned players on this slate.

Other spots to target

I wrote about Napier and Culver from above form the T’Wolves, but, you should also be considering Gorgui Dieng at Center as he’ll continue to start for Karl Anthony Towns. Some T’Wolves value options are Kelan Martin and Naz Reid but they are both very boom or bust options and I would save them for GPP only.

Alec Burks and Damion Lee for the Warriors. Both should continue to see increased roles with all of the injuries this team is dealing with.

Derrick Rose, Christian Wood and Andre Drummond on the Pistons. They should all get bumps today with Luke Kannard, Markieff Morris and Blake Griffin likely out.

AND 1 Top 3’s today

The AND 1 rating was developed by Ben Jammin @xBenJamminx and is apart of our NBA Research Station. The rating is an all-encompassing metric that will lead you to the best plays on each slate each day. One of my favorite things to do is use the ADORE 😍 feature in the Domination Station on all of these players so that I’m sure to get heavy exposure to them across my lineups.

Luka Doncic leads the slate today with a 19.7 AND1 Rating in his matchups against the Nets. Check out the Rest of the Top 3 at each position below. Mix in the Free Squares with these guys below when you build your lineup this evening.
