Full Court Press:

Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets

Vegas Total: 216.5

Vegas Spread: MIA -3.0

From the Heat, Jimmy Butler is going to be the premier play on the Heat, I like this matchup for him he should be able to stuff the stat sheet and even with Winslow back he’s still going to have the ball in his hands a ton. Bam Adebayo has 43+ FanDuel points in three of his last five games, however, he also gets a prime matchup against this bad Nets frontcourt. I like him a lot today. Kelly Olynyk, Justise Winslow, Kendrick Nunn, and Goran Dragic are all GPP plays for me in a game where the second unit should get plenty of run.

For the Nets side of the ball, Kyrie Irving will be out again here which will make Spencer Dinwiddie again a very viable play although his price is getting up there. He’s just so consistent and gets massive usage with Kyrie out, I like him even in a tough matchup. Jarrett Allen is coming off an0other really good game, and just put up a 60 burger a few games ago, but also saw his price skyrocket, he’s only in play if DeAndre Jordan is out again and even then it’s a bit of a steep price for me. Joe Harris is in play for GPPs but I don’t love the matchup. Taurean Prince is very volatile but makes a lot of sense for GPPs.

5-star plays: Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Spencer Dinwiddie

4-star plays: Jarrett Allen (if Jordan out, if not, fade), Kendrick Nunn

Deeper Value: Taurean Prince, Joe Harris, Kelly Olynyk

GPP Sleeper: Taurean Prince, Goran Dragic

Memphis Grizzlies @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: MIN -9.0

From the Grizzlies, Ja Morant is already ruled out with back spasms so Tyus Jones will be your premier value option on this slate in his place, as the T-Wolves struggle to defend the PG position. Jonas Valanciunas finally bounced back and is getting right around 26 minutes per game. I don’t like the matchup though against KAT in what should likely be a blowout with Ja already ruled out. Jaren Jackson, Jae Crowder, and Brandon Clarke are all GPP guys in this matchup.

This game has a solid total, so targeting guys in this game could turn out to be very profitable if the Grizzlies can keep it close. From the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns now has over 50 FanDuel points in 4 of his last 5 and is coming off a down game against the Spurs. He should be able to do whatever he wants in this game, he’s an elite play. Andrew Wiggins has been a different player this year, so much that he is now running the point for the Wolves relegating Jeff Teague to coming off the bench, I like him for GPPs here. As I said Jeff Teague was moved to the bench last game, but I think this helps his usage and will still see good minutes, love him for GPPs especially if this game gets out of hand. If you think this game ends in a blowout as well, Jarrett Culver, Josh Okogie, and Gorgui Dieng are all deep GPP plays.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns

4-star play: Andrew Wiggins, Jonas Valanciunas

Deeper Value: Josh Jackson Jr., Jeff Teague, Robert Covington

GPP Sleeper: Josh Okogie, Jarrett Culver

Boston Celtics @ New York Knicks

Vegas Total: 208.5

Vegas Spread: BOS -7.5

From Boston, Kemba Walker looked great coming back after missing one game, he’s still way too cheap on FanDuel at $7,500, so he’ll be a core play for me at that price against a bad Knicks defense.  Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been playing pretty good but I would prefer Brown as he seems more consistent at this point even with Kemba back. Marcus Smart has also been playing great but will be fighting for usage with Kemba back, so I don’t love him at his price point. Daniel Theis is way too cheap here at $4,500 as he’s been a solid FPPM guy and has been starting over Enes Kanter. He played 25 minutes and got the start in their last game. This whole team draws a nice matchup and I can see myself getting a bunch of them. The Knicks have struggled to defend all year but I can actually see them keeping this one kind of close so I have some interest in the Celtics.

From the Knicks, both Marcus Morris and Julius Randle are playing consistently big minutes but draw solid matchups here which makes them more of GPP plays than anything. Randle has the better matchup downlow, but Boston as a team hasn’t been the defensive juggernaut that they have been in the past. RJ Barrett has seen his price continue to drop, but the consistency for FPs just hasn’t been there as he hovers in the 25-30 FP range and at his price there’s not much value left there. The rest of this team really doesn’t interest me unless we get some kind of injury news.

5-star play: Kemba Walker

4-star play: Julius Randle, Marcus Morris, Daniel Theis, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown

Deeper Value: Brad Wanamaker, Mitchell Robinson

GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson

Dallas Mavericks @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 222.5

Vegas Spread: LAL -6.0

Starting with the Mavericks, it’s really two guys here for me, Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis will be the lower owned of the two, but Luka is an elite play even at his elevated price tag. I expect both of these guys to want to show out in a big game against LeBron and Co.

From the Lakers, it’s really just LeBron James and Anthony Davis for me. Both have usage rates above 30% with this Lakers team and they both also have elite ceilings, if you have the salary for either of them do it. However, I’m tending to lean that this will be more of a LeBron game as he won’t want to be outshone by Luka here. I’m excited to see how this game plays out as it should be a slugfest back and forth.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, LeBron James

4-star play: Kristaps Porzingis, Anthony Davis

Deeper Value: Tim Hardaway Jr.

GPP Sleeper: Tim Hardaway Jr.

San Antonio Spurs @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 216

Vegas Spread: DET -4.0

From the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan draws an incredibly solid matchup as the Pistons haven’t been able to defend guards at all this year while LaMarcus Aldridge draws a more difficult one against Andre Drummond. Dejounte Murray isn’t getting enough minutes to be viable for me while Rudy Gay is a secondary option unless they start him again like they did last game. This game seems like it’ll be one of the more lower scoring games of the night so if you wanted to fade this game completely you could.

From the Pistons, the Spurs really do present a difficult matchup for almost everyone on this team, they’ve been defending bigs really well all year so I don’t have a ton of interest in Andre Drummond or Blake Griffin. Luke Kennard has been a bit all over the place as of late, that said he’s getting a ton of minutes against a team that is worse against the guard position. Derrick Rose has a 33.5% usage rate off the bench and the spot that the Spurs have struggled against is the PG position, so he’s firmly in play here for GPPs.

5-star play: None

4-star play: DeMar Derozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, Andre Drummond, Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin

Deeper Value: Rudy Gay (if he starts), Derrick White

GPP Sleeper: Derrick White, Bryn Forbes

Oklahoma City Thunder @ New Orleans Pelicans

Vegas Total: 228.5

Vegas Spread: NOP -2.0

From the Thunder, it’s tough not to like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, however, he is not in good form. I’m banking on the up-tempo matchup to help him out in this one along with the fact that the Pelicans really don’t play any defense at all. Chris Paul is going to get you 35-45 FanDuel points on most nights and makes sense as the Pelicans rank dead last against opposing point guards on the season. Both Danilo Gallinari and Steven Adams are also in play here given the up-tempo pace of this game as we saw how it shakes out just a few nights ago. I’m really not going out of my way to roster either of them though as I tend to like the Pelicans side of the ball a little more.

For the Pels, Brandon Ingram continues to play great and has 40+ FanDuel points in 5 of his last 6 and the one game he didn’t he scored 39.5 FPs, he’s about as consistent as they come right now and draws a solid matchup against Gallinari who doesn’t play much defense. Jrue Holiday continues to play well but I think his ceiling is a little limited here if both Lonzo and Hart play. Derrick Favors is a GTD and his price is elevated still so I’m fading even if he plays. JJ Redick is also pretty cheap here, but I’ll like him more if Ball is ruled out. Jahlil Okafor is also in play here, especially if Favors sits again.

5-star play: Brandon Ingram

4-star play: Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jrue Holiday, Steven Adams

Deeper Value: Josh Hart, Jahlil Okafor

GPP Sleeper: Josh Hart, Jahlil Okafor (both in play if Ball and Favors sit)

Utah Jazz @ Toronto Raptors

Vegas Total: 210.5

Vegas Spread: TOR -2.0

Starting with the Jazz, this is a pretty solid matchup for them as the Raptors as this should be a very competitive game. Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are both elite plays while guys like Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic make more sense for GPPs. You can really dig for some value here with Royce O’Neale as well, but I’m not going out of my way to play him.

Starting with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam now has been really consistent so far this year, but I don’t love his price on FanDuel, especially given the matchup. But it’s tough not to like him here despite the slow gameplay. Fred VanVleet is coming off of a dud game but has been one of the more consistent guards in the league, but he gets a difficult matchup against Mike Conley so I’m not too high on this Raptors team as a whole. The rest of this team I’ll probably stay away from just because I think there are better games to target on this slate, unless we get some value opening up in their frontcourt.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Pascal Siakam, Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell

Deeper Value: Royce O’Neale

GPP Sleeper: None

Golden State Warriors @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 205

Vegas Spread: ORL -8.5

Starting with the Warriors, Draymond Green is the “superstar” on this team right now, his price is probably where it should be but he has triple-double upside as long as he is playing point guard on this team. With Green starting it sends Ky Bowman back to the bench and out of play for me. Eric Paschall continues to play big minutes but he gets a tougher matchup here as he’ll likely have to deal with Isaac a lot with Draymond running the point. Alec Burks has been a bit up and down, but he’s firmly in play here for GPPs. Lastly, Glenn Robinson feels a bit too expensive for me but I don’t hate him for GPPs, especially on a weird Sunday slate like this.

From the Magic, Jonathan Isaac gets another not so great matchup here, but the Magic rely on him defensively and on FanDuel he’s always in play with his ability to rack up those peripheral stats, but you can go with him with Nikola Vucevic, however, Aaron Gordon being back does take away some of his usage. Evan Fournier is playing a ton of minutes lately and really playing good basketball, he’s been scoring a ton lately without Vuc and they’ll need him to do so again tonight in what should be a pace up game for the Magic. Markelle Fultz is now getting a consistent 30ish minutes, I don’t hate it if you happen to land on him. Mo Bamba isn’t going to play a ton of minutes but he’s a pretty efficient fantasy producer. There are a few pieces here that I like especially in what should be a faster paced game for the Magic.

5-star play: Draymond Green

4-star play: Alec Burks, Evan Fournier, Eric Paschall, Jonathan Isaac

Deeper Value: Mo Bamba

GPP Sleeper: Mo Bamba, Alec Burks

Washington Wizards @ Los Angeles Clippers

Vegas Total: 237

Vegas Spread: LAC -12.5

This game has the highest game total on the slate so we will want to get some exposure here. Starting with Washington, Bradley Beal is priced up to where he should be finally especially for this matchup. With that being said, he’s going to have the ball in his hands a ton and could shoot 30+ times in this game. Thomas Bryant hasn’t been great as of late but he gets a solid matchup here against the Clippers who have been bleeding FPs to opposing bigs so far this year. He’s more of a GPP guy for me, but I do like him. Davis Bertans has been playing out of his mind lately and I like him quite a bit in an up-tempo game and he also won’t have to face the tough defense of the Clippers starting 5. Both Mo Wagner and Isaiah Thomas are GPP guys who could thrive in a fast game like this one but still just GPP guys at best. The guy I like here is Mo Wagner, as he can put up FPs in a hurry, and especially if this game gets out of hand him and Bertans will see a ton of run.

For the Clippers, we get a fast paced game against a team who doesn’t play defense, so your top dogs of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are obviously in play here.  The write-up on this team is relatively simple, the superstars are elite while Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, and Patrick Beverley are elite GPP plays. I especially like the pairing of Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell tonight here, as they should see more burn if this game gets out of hand.

5-star play: Bradley Beal, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George

4-star play: Montrezl Harrell, Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, Thomas Bryant

Deeper Value: Davis Bertans, Mo Wagner

GPP Sleeper: Davis Bertans, Mo Wagner
