Full Court Press:

Welcome to another year of the DFS Army NBA Full Court Press! You have to start your research somewhere, and oftentimes going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. My name is Steve aka @mutt_18  on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the advice in the article. But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Before I get started, make sure to check out the latest new DFS website. SuperDraft is an innovative new DFS site that does not have salaries but instead uses a multiplier system and better yet, THEY HAVE LATE SWAP! Check out more on how it works below!

Full Court Press:

Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas Total: 210

Vegas Spread: BOS -1.0

Starting with the Celtics, Gordon Hayward is going to be a GTD again here tonight after exiting last nights game. I’m likely going to fade him here either way as it is a tougher matchup. Kemba Walker has some pretty intense home/road splits this season and is averaging 12 more fantasy points more at home and we get a road game here. He went off last night, which was a bit surprising given the matchup, but I think he’ll struggle a bit with Simmons’ length in this one. Jayson Tatum has been in great form scoring 40+ FanDuel points in four of his last six games and he gets the biggest boost if Hayward is out tonight. Jaylen Brown is in pretty good form as well, he’s more of a GPP guy though.

From the Sixers, Joel Embiid is going to be the focal point here, as attacking the Celtics with opposing bigs has been a thing for years now, especially if he’ll see the court the same time as Kanter for stints which he likely will in this one. Ben Simmons is coming off a solid game last time out and is a triple-double threat every time he takes the court and the Sixers have the benefit of being rested in this one as well. Tobias Harris and Al Horford are in very similar spots as well, and if I had to pick I’d lean Al Horford in this one as he didn’t leave the Celtics on very good terms after everyone thought he was going to re-sign there, a bit of a revenge factor game for him in this one. Josh Richardson is back, which takes James Ennis out of play for me here. Not much value to be had with the Sixers team.

5-star plays: Joel Embiid

4-star plays: Kemba Walker, Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, Jayson Tatum

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: None

Cleveland Cavaliers @ San Antonio Spurs

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: SAS -10.5

From the Cavaliers, Kevin Love is in terrible form but he got it going a little last night against the Rockets. However it’s a tougher matchup for him tonight, but the Spurs also haven’t been too great defensively this year, so he’s in play for GPPs. I don’t hate Tristan Thompson here, especially on a smaller slate, but it’s a tough matchup against Aldridge downlow. Both Collin Sexton and Larry Nance make sense as GPP plays, while Darius Garland can be played as a GPP value. I’d look more to Jordan Clarkson here though, as the Spurs are projected to handle the Cavs quite easily in this one.

From the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge will be available here making him a secondary play, as the matchup is there, but I don’t think the Spurs will need him to do too much in this game in order for them to walk away with a win. DeMar DeRozan will see his usage go down with LMA back, but isn’t a bad secondary play at his price tag. Dejounte Murray is going to be in play here as well, I just wish Pop would give him 30 minutes as he would smash here against the Cavs. If you think this game gets ugly, then you can also fire up Derrick WhitePatty Mills, and Lonnie Walker IV.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar Derozan, Dejounte Murray

Deeper Value: Derrick White, Patty Mills, Lonnie Walker IV, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance

GPP Sleeper: Larry Nance, Jordan Clarkson, Lonnie Walker IV

Dallas Mavericks @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas Total: 220.5

Vegas Spread: DAL -6.0

From the Mavs, it’s really just two guys for me, Luka Doncic (obviously) and Kristaps Porzingis. Doncic has had back to back dud games but this is a nice bounceback spot for him, as the Pistons are pretty bad defensively against PGs, but this game is projected to stay somewhat close so you’re playing with fire if you decide to fade him. Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t been in the best form lately, but he is in play here against the less than stellar defense of Blake Griffin. Tim Hardaway Jr. is also in play tonight on a small slate, as the Pistons struggle to defend the perimeter and he can provide some nice scoring upside here.

From the Pistons, Andre Drummond is going to be your top dog here, as he is a beast downlow and causes matchup isses for the Mavericks here as they don’t have a big that can really hang with him. Blake Griffin is in a nice bounceback spot after letting everyone down in a smash spot last game, his price has come down a lot from years past, but he is still a riskier GPP play that could pay off here. Derrick Rose has a massive 32% usage rate off the bench, I don’t hate going there for GPPs. Finally, Luke Kennard has been very consistent this season, he’s fine in this game as well. Langston Galloway is another deeper GPP option in this game, as if he gets hot from behind the arc he can put up a ton of points in a hurry.

5-star play: Luka Doncic, Andre Drummond

4-star play: Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose

Deeper Value: Langston Galloway, Tim Hardaway Jr.

GPP Sleeper: Langston Galloway, Tim Hardaway Jr.

Portland Trailblazers @ Denver Nuggets

Vegas Total: TBD

Vegas Spread: DEN -6.0

Damian Lillard is obviously your number one option from the Trailblazers, and he draws a favorable matchup against a Nuggets defense that hasn’t been able to stop opposing PGs at all this year. C.J. McCollum is also squarely in play but I don’t love his matchup against Gary Harris. Hassan Whiteside also is firmly in play here, as the Trailblazers will need his scoring downlow if they want to keep this game competitive. Carmelo Anthony is also in play here, but I don’t love his price. Kent Bazemore will also be in play if Rodney Hood sits this one out again. Anfernee Simons is also a deeper GPP play here, as he’s been playing a ton of minutes off the bench.

Nikola Jokic has been struggling big time in all aspects of the game, but maybe this is a matchup where he can get himself going again, and he got a little bit of a kickstart last game against Embiid, now he gets the non-existent defense of Hassan Whiteside, I like him quite a bit here. Jamal Murray is also in play here, but he has been a little too scoring dependent for me as a PG but he gets a favorable matchup against Dame. Gary Harris has been shooting the ball really well lately, and he’ll play a ton of minutes as he has been lately as they’ll need his defense here likely to matchup against McCollum. The guy I’m liking here is Will Barton as he has been playing really well lately, and his price isn’t too expensive.

5-star play: Damian Lillard, Nikola Jokic

4-star play: CJ McCollum, Hassan Whiteside, Will Barton, Carmelo Anthony

Deeper Value: Anfernee Simons, Gary Harris

GPP Sleeper: Anfernee Simons
