Full Court Press:

Detroit Pistons @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas Total: 219

Vegas Spread: DET -3.5

Looks like Blake Griffin (PF) will be playing tonight, and I expect his minutes to be limited to under 30 once again and at his price tag everywhere I won’t have too much exposure. The best matchup here actually goes to Andre Drummond (C) as the Hornets are allowing over 60 FPPG to opposing C’s over the course of this season. Derrick Rose (PG) will be back in action tonight as well, and he’s worth a shot in GPPs as he dominates usage with the second unit. For value, Tim Frazier (PG) is in play as Reggie Jackson is still out as well. Luke Kennard (SG) will also be in play, but I’m not as high on him with Rose back.

On the Hornets side of the ball, Terry Rozier (PG) finally looked like his old self last game, and he’s still a little underpriced as he hasn’t been consistent so far this year, but the matchup is favorable. Dwayne Bacon is a GTD again tonight, and if he’s out, I’ll have a ton of interest in Malik Monk (SG) who absolutely dominated off the bench with the 2nd unit, but its actually a bump down to Devonte’ Graham (SG) as he didn’t see as much usage starting. Cody Zeller (C) is also in play here, as Drummond likes to get handsy, and if he gets into foul trouble Zeller will have on issues down low.

5-star plays: Andre Drummond (C)

4-star plays: Blake Griffin (PF), Terry Rozier (PG), Devonte’ Graham (SG, if he comes off the bench), Cody Zeller (C)

Deeper Value: Malik Monk (SG)

GPP Sleeper: Malik Monk (SG)

San Antonio Spurs @ Orlando Magic

Vegas Total: 211

Vegas Spread: ORL -3.5

I’m gonna make this one pretty short and sweet, as there isn’t much to like here as this game has by far the lowest total on the slate. On the Spurs side of the ball, you’re either going to be playing Dejounte Murray (PG) in GPPs, as he has had some super efficient games but he has been on a minutes limit so far, if that gets lifted tonight then look out! The other guy will be LaMarcus Aldridge (PF) as his price hasn’t really moved, but he also hasn’t really shown those ceiling games he is capable of so far this year. That’s about all I like from the Spurs.

The matchup against the Spurs isn’t a great one, and the only ones I’ll be looking at here is going to be Nikola Vucevic (C) as he’s been playing a lot better over the past few games, and the Magic will need his scoring in order to have a chance in this game. The other play I’ll look to here is Markelle Fultz (PG) as the spot to attack the Spurs is going to be at the PG position and Fultz has actually looked pretty good since joining the starting rotation. He’s a nice value play here.

5-star play: None

4-star play: Dejounte Murray (PG), LaMarcus Aldridge (PF), Nikola Vucevic (C), Markelle Fultz (PG)

Deeper Value: Markelle Fultz (PG)

GPP Sleeper: Markelle Fultz (PG)

Indiana Pacers @ Houston Rockets

Vegas Total: 226

Vegas Spread: HOU -5

This game has the second highest total on the slate, and this is a nice pace up matchup for the Pacers here, as the Rockets don’t really play defense. Malcolm Brogdon (PG) is a premier play here, as we all know that Russ doesn’t play defense at all and Brogdon has been their main source of scoring, and he gets the usage boost with Lamb still being sidelined again tonight. Turner is out again tonight, which boosts Domantas Sabonis (PF) into near elite territory as he’s been putting up 50 burgers almost every game so far with Turner out, but he is a bit pricey now as well. T.J. Warren (SF) is also firmly in play here, as he’s taken on a bigger offensive role as well with Turner and Lamb out. For value, T.J. McConnell (PG) has been an excellent source of scoring and has been the sparkplug this team needs off the bench, he’s a solid value play tonight.

On the Houston side of the ball, the big news is going to be Russell Westbrook (PG) as he is expected to sit one of the next two games as Houston has back to back games starting tonight. If he sits tonight, that makes James Harden (SG) a virtual lock for 60+ points as he’ll have 40+% usage in this offense. If Westbrook sits its also a boost to Clint Capela (C) as he’s been taking on a more offensive role as well this year behind the two main stud guards. Danuel House and Eric Gordon are both likely out again, which puts Ben McLemore (SG) firmly in play again as well as he’ll likely draw another start with their absences. Austin Rivers (PG) would also be firmly in play as well, both if Westbrook sits and if House and Gordon are both out as he played over 30 minutes last game with those two sitting.

5-star play: James Harden (SG), Malcolm Brogdon (PG), Domantas Sabonis (PF)

4-star play: T.J. Warren (SF), Russell Westbrook (PG), Clint Capela (C)

Deeper Value: Ben McLemore (SG), Austin Rivers (PG), T.J. McConnell (PG)

GPP Sleeper: T.J. McConnell (PG)

Utah Jazz @ Memphis Grizzlies

Vegas Total: 215

Vegas Spread: UTA -7.5

This is going to be another game I won’t be targeting much, as it has the second lowest total on the slate and the Jazz are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, and they slow the pace of the game down. While Memphis has been better at paceups this year, this game doesn’t play well into their favor. Ja Morant (PG) can be worth a GPP flier as he has shown the ability to take over a game when his shot is falling. Jonas Valanciunas (C) is worth another GPP shot as he has had some big games even in his limited minutes, but the matchup isn’t too favorable here going up against Rudy Gobert. The only other option I’d consider here is going to be Dillon Brooks (SG) as he has been playing a ton of minutes and is still relatively cheap.

On the Utah side of the ball, the best matchup goes to Rudy Gobert (C) as the Grizzlies have been giving up a ton of FPs to opposing C’s and the Grizzlies don’t have anyone that can stop him downlow as he should have close to 20 rebounds tonight. Donovan Mitchell (SG) is also in play tonight, as the Grizzlies haven’t been great at defending opposing SGs so far this year. He’s worth a GPP play shot. Bojan Bogdanovic (SF) is also in play for GPPs here as he has the ability to score a will with Conley and Mitchell’s ability to drive and kick it out to him. That’s about all I like from this game though.

5-star play: Rudy Gobert (C)

4-star play: Ja Morant (PG), Jonas Valanciunas (C), Donovan Mitchell (SG)

Deeper Value: Dillon Brooks (SG)

GPP Sleeper: Tyus Jones (PG)

Washington Wizards @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas Total: 240

Vegas Spread: MIN -7

This is going to be the game to target, as it has the highest total on the slate by 14 points and the Wizards have been terrible at defending pretty much everyone and play at an extremely high pace. On the Wizards side of the ball, Bradley Beal (SG) is going to be the premiere play, as he is the Wizards leader on offense and he showed what he can do last game against the Celtics. Rui Hachimura (PF) is also in play here, as he’s still underpriced on all sites, and he has 40 FP potential if he can stay out of foul trouble. Isaiah Thomas (PG) is also a bit underpriced and his minutes are trending upward as well. For value, Davis Bertans (SF) has had a significant role off the bench, and will be firmly in play, especially if Hachimura gets into foul trouble again. Moritz Wagner (C) is also in play here, as he loves to shoot and has the ability to score a ton of fantasy points in a limited amount of time.

Karl-Anthony Towns (C) is going to be the premiere play in this game, as the Wizards have been absolutely bleeding FPs to opposing Centers over the first few weeks of the season. Andrew Wiggins (SG) is also a great play, especially if the T-Wolves decide to keep running him at the point, as he’s been phenomenal in that role. Robert Covington (PF) is also in play here, as he plays better in these fast paced games where he can get additional FPs as he doesn’t need to score to get you points. Jeff Teague (PG) will also be in play here, as his price is depressed a bit and he got a ton of usage with the 2nd unit. It’ll be interesting to see who starts at point here so keep a lookout for that.

5-star play: Karl-Anthony Towns (C), Andrew Wiggins (SG), Bradley Beal (SG)

4-star play: Rui Hachimura (PF), Robert Covington (PF), Isaiah Thomas (PG)

Deeper Value: Davis Bertans (SF), Moritz Wagner (C)

GPP Sleeper: Davis Bertans (SF), Moritz Wagner (C)

Philadelphia 76ers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas Total: 214

Vegas Spread: PHI -3.5

This is another one of the lower totals on the slate, but there are a few plays here that could go under the radar on a bigger slate. For the Sixers, Joel Embiid (C) is likely back tonight and while he draws a tougher matchup against Steven Adams, he’s always in play as he can pop off at low ownership, especially with a bigger slate. Ben Simmons (PG) is also in play here, as he is a matchup nightmare with his size and length. Tobias Harris (SF) is also a decent play here, but it’s hard to predict who will go off when the Sixers are fully healthy. If one of these guys sits its a major boost to the remaining guys.

On the OKC side there are going to be limited options here, as I don’t like playing guys against Simmons as he is really tough with his length. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SG) is their primary option on offense, but the matchup isn’t the greatest as he’ll have to face off against Richardson. Steven Adams (C) is also firmly in play here, as Embiid hasn’t really stopped opposing C’s on the year and they’ll need him on the floor to matchup with Embiid. Dennis Schroder (SG) also sees a ton of usage with the 2nd unit and won’t have to deal with the first unit of the Sixers.

5-star play: Joel Embiid (C)

4-star play: Ben Simmons (PG), Dennis Schroder (SG), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SG), Steven Adams (C)

Deeper Value: None

GPP Sleeper: Dennis Schroder (SG)

Boston Celtics @ Golden State Warriors

Vegas Total: 224.5

Vegas Spread: BOS -7.5

This is another game we’re going to want to target, as the Celtics are on a 9 game winning streak after dropping their first game of the year. Kemba Walker (PG) gets the best matchup of anyone on the team, as the Warriors are bleeding FPs even more to opposing PGs with Steph Curry sidelined. Jaylen Brown (SF) is also in play here, as he has 50 FP potential but the consistency has been his main issue, but the matchup is there. Jayson Tatum (PF) is also firmly in play here as he sees the biggest usage bump with Gordon Hayward injured, but he has been in a bit of a shooting slump that I expect to end soon. The big news here will be whether or not Theis and Robert Williams play, because if they don’t Enes Kanter (C) will have to play 25+ minutes although the Celtics are being careful with him. Brad Wanamaker (PG), Carsen Edwards (SG), and Grant Williams (PF) will also be in play if Theis and Robert Williams sit, but we likely won’t get word until after lock. Wanamaker and Edwards are in play if you think this game gets out of hand, as they should crush in garbage time.

On the Warriors side, D’Angelo Russell (SG) is basically their whole offense right now, and he’s firmly in play here as he’ll be relied on to score exclusively by the Warriors. Draymond Green (PF) is also in play here as his price has really come down over the last few games. Ky Bowman (PG) is also in play here if you think this game gets out of hand, as he has been with the 2nd unit with Russell back. Thats about all I have interest from on the Warriors side, but I’ll be heavy on Celtics tonight.

5-star play: Kemba Walker (PG), D’Angelo Russell (SG)

4-star play: Jaylen Brown (SF), Jayson Tatum (PF), Draymond Green (PF),

Deeper Value: Brad Wanamaker (PG), Carsen Edwards (SG), Grant Williams (PF)

GPP Sleeper: Draymond Green (PF)

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers

Vegas Total: 215.5

Vegas Spread: LAL -11

Here’s the hammer game, and its a tough one as the Lakers are already favored by 11 with Fox and Bagley already ruled out. For the Kings Cory Joseph (PG) is going to be everyone’s favorite value play again, but he’ll likely be lower owned tonight after disappointing last game. The deep GPP option I’m looking for here is Yogi Ferrell (PG) as he saw some nice run last game and he’ll play a ton if this game gets out of hand. Buddy Hield (SG) is also a solid GPP play here, since the Kings will need to rely on him to score to keep this game close and the spot the Lakers have been struggling is at the SG position.

For the Lakers, Anthony Davis (PF) is probable tonight, but we all know how that goes, and if the Lakers are at full health I won’t have too much interest here aside from their value. LeBron James (SF) is always in play, especially in a faster paced game, but he’d get a major boost if Davis sits this one out. Avery Bradley (SG) is in play here for value, especially if Davis sits, as he actually sees the biggest usage boost with him off the floor. Rajon Rondo (PG) is also interesting here, as he should see a few additional minutes here especially if it gets out of hand. Javale McGee (C) would also be firmly in play here if Davis sits, as we saw what he can do last game without him. Danny Green (SG) can also be a deep flier in GPPs, but you all know how I feel about him at this point.

5-star play: LeBron James (SF)

4-star play: Cory Joseph (PG), Anthony Davis (PF), Buddy Hield (SG)

Deeper Value: Rajon Rondo (PG), Avery Bradley (SG), Yogi Ferrell (PG)

GPP Sleeper: Yogi Ferrell (PG), Danny Green (SG)
