NASCAR Cup Series Setup Top Plays for FanDuel: Dover 2

Welcome to the Cup Series Setup for Fanduel. Here we will be breaking down the best plays for Fanduel purposes. My name is RyanLarkin88 and you can follow me @Larkin8 on twitter. This week the Cup Series is at Dover. The VIP Member Research Station and Domination Station will be ready to go for you to help create your lineups so be sure to check that out. Also, jump in the NASCAR VIP Slack and get some great insight into this weeks race.

Top Tier Plays

Chase Elliott

Chase has scored a top 5 finish in 6 of his 7 Dover starts including a win in this race last year. He showed good speed in practice and followed that up by qualifying 5th. HMS as a whole was fast back here in May with three cars finishing inside the top 8. Chase’s ability to always finish upfront here makes him a top Fanduel play this week.

Brad Keselowski

Brad is going to be our place differential play for this week. He starts 16th but will carry top 5 upside. Brad is on a great run of form lately having finished top 5 in 5 of the last 6 races in 2019. As far as Dover goes he has a really solid history that includes a win and a couple runner up finishes. He has led 213 laps over the last 5 races here as well. He always seems to have good speed here and if he can put the whole race together could be a really good play.

Martin Truex Jr.

Truex is ridiculously good here. He has finished 4th or better in 5 of the last 6 here including two wins. He is one of the biggest threats to lead a bunch of laps and score those dom points. Elite driver at perhaps his best track.

Kyle Larson

Larson was extremely fast all weekend and qualified 2nd. He has finished outside the top 10 only twice in 11 races at Dover. Very strong likelihood of a top 5 but much like Truex and Elliott is a threat to lead a lot of laps.

Kevin Harvick

Harvick is too good to be left out of this group. He has led 200+ laps four times in the last 10 Dover races and 91+ six times during that stretch. He has been one of the fastest cars all year long and appears to have a fast car again this week. While there appears to be some better choices overall, Harvick simply can’t be ignored.

Value Plays

Daniel Suarez

Suarez has been good at Dover since his first time there. Since 2017 he has the 5th best average finish here and has finished 11th or better in all five career races. Starts 15th and only cost $8,000. Very good situation.

Clint Bowyer

Bowyer starts 17th which means he will offer some place differential points to his top 10 finishing position upside. In the last four Dover races Bowyer has 3 top 10s and has finished all but one stage inside the top 10. He is almost always running inside the top 10 at this track and is a strong mid tier play because of this.

Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie has won at Dover a ridiculous 11 times. He was 2nd in 5, 10 and 25 lap averages in final practice. Qualified 11th but is a strong top 10 contender. I expect him to compete for a top 5 this week.

Low Tier/Punts

Daniel Hemric

Hemric only cost $5,000 this week and starting 32nd will offer a ton of place differential upside. If he can break into the top 20 he will make a magnificent low tier play to save salary. Wanting to take multiple elite guys this week means we need to save salary somewhere and this is a great place to start.

Ricky Stenhouse

Ricky comes into Dover looking for a ride for next season. Motivated drivers are always the best. He has finished inside the top 15 in 5 of the last 8 Dover races and showed top 15 speed in final practice. $6,000 is a fantastic price for him this week.

Austin Dillon

Austin will start the race 27th this week and cost $6,500. In the last 6 Dover races he has 2 top 10s and 5 top 20s. He can be a bit risky due to his up and down nature but if he can score a top 15 finish he will pay off nicely.
