WNBA FULL COURT PRESS

Congrats to DFS Army member bigmyken2m (@Myke) for this fantastic performance on Thursday!

Las Vegas Aces @ Indiana Fever

The Aces take on the Fever as the battle for playoff positioning intensifies. Liz Cambage is always the first name when the Aces play. She gets a tough matchup here tonight. She has averaged 29.6 DKPs in 24.6 MPG in the previous two matchups this season. Not her best outlook. That said, she can always go off on any night. A’ja Wilson is in a much better spot here as she gets an excellent matchup against Dupree. She is the best play matchup wise on this Aces team today. The Fever have been poor against opposing guards, this puts both Kayla McBride and Jackie Young in play, with McBride being the better option. McBride has struggled recently, making her a slightly risky play here. Although, the struggles could also decrease her ownership making her a nice GPP option. Finally, Dearica Hamby continues to get around 27 MPG. These are good minutes and her price has come down enough to make her a playable option. However, she has huge home/road splits, performing about 10 DKPs better at home than on the road.

The Fever are in the 9th spot, but still alive (barely) in the playoff hunt. They need to win and get a lot of help in order to make it in. It’s hard to see them winning this game, but they’ll put in the effort, starting with Erica Wheeler. The Aces have been atrocious against guards this season, gifting Wheeler with an excellent matchup she’ll be all too happy to exploit. Kennedy Burke is still cheap and is averaging 25 MPG over her last four games, making her an interesting option here. She most likely won’t break the slate, but she should easily pay her price here. On the forward side of things, Teaira McCowan coming off a career outing against the Storm will be looking to build on that in what is a good matchup. Candice Dupree, as usual, remains an inconsistent GPP option.

5-Star Play: A’ja Wilson, Teaira McCowan, Erica Wheeler

4-Star Play: Liz Cambage, Kayla McBride, Kennedy Burke, Dearica Hamby

Deep Value: Kennedy Burke

GPP Sleeper: Kelsey Mitchell

Phoenix Mercury @ New York Liberty

The Mercury need a win to stop their recent slide and protect their hold on the final playoff spot. The return of Diana Taurasi should help in this regard. While Taurasi’s return makes the Mercury a stronger team overall, it also complicates the outlook from a DFS-standpoint. On the one hand, Taurasi takes usage away from DeWanna Bonner and Brittney Griner. However, she also opens the floor for them, raising their fantasy outlook. With this in mind, all three of them are viable GPP targets today. Taurasi has been priced up, making it a little difficult to roster her, and Bonner gets a tough matchup with Charles. Griner is the best option between the three. There’s little interest in any of the remaining Mercury players at their current prices, with the big three sucking up all the usage.

The Liberty are still in the playoff hunt, with a victory over the Mercury significantly increasing their chances. Tina Charles couldn’t get anything going against the Mystics on Sunday and will look to bounce back big here. She gets a fantastic matchup against Bonner, one she has exploited to an average of 48.6 DKPs in two meetings this season already. For the rest of the Liberty, it’s really tough to choose among them, but Kia Nurse, Bria Hartley, and Tanisha Wright are all playable here. They have all had success against the Mercury and are generally in good form.

5-Star Play: Tina Charles, Brittney Griner, DeWanna Bonner

4-Star Play: Diana Taurasi, Kia Nurse, Bria Hartley, Tanisha Wright

Deep Value: Tanisha Wright

GPP Sleeper: Kia Nurse

Los Angeles Sparks @ Washington Mystics

The Sparks remain in the hunt for a top seed in the playoffs. Unfortunately for them, they take on the top team in the league on the road. This is going to be a tough battle for the Sparks. It could potentially turn into a defensive affair, limiting some of the DFS upside of the players. That said, Nneka Ogwumike leads the line for the Sparks today. She gets a nice matchup and has performed well in the previous two meetings this season, averaging 39.5 DKPG. Candace Parker has dreadful home/road splits, making it difficult to confidently recommend her today. That said, she is a stud and can always go off. Chelsea Gray makes for a nice option at guard in this matchup, especially with Kristi Toliver out. Riquna Williams has been solid since returning from suspension and remains an important player and DFS option for this Sparks team.

For the Mystics, they need to keep winning to lock-in that #1 overall seed. Elena Delle Donne got injured at the start of the game the last time these two teams faced off. She’ll want to take her pound of flesh this time around, making her a good play. Just keep in mind that she has struggled a little bit with Toliver out injured. Aerial Powers has been fantastic in the absence of Toliver and there’s no reason to think this will stop anytime soon. She makes for a nice play on this slate as her scoring prowess will be needed by the Mystics. The rest of the Mystics are relegated to the GPP category, with Ariel Atkins, Natasha Cloud, LaToya Sanders, and Tianna Hawkins all having potential in the matchup depending on how the game goes.

5-Star Play: Nneka Ogwumike, Elena Delle Donne

4-Star Play: Chelsea Gray, Aerial Powers, Candace Parker, Riquna Williams

Deep Value: Tianna Hawkins

GPP Sleeper: Ariel Atkins

Chicago Sky @ Minnesota Lynx

This should be a good game. The Sky are in the hunt for a first-round bye in the playoffs, while the Lynx can clinch a playoff spot with a victory tonight. This is a tough matchup for the Sky. A quick look at their average performance against the Lynx this season paints a bleak picture. Even so, there are some bright spots we can go here. All season, we have targeted the Lynx using three-point shooters. Allie Quigley is arguably the best three-pointer in the league, making her an excellent option in this matchup. Courtney Vandersloot has scored over 30 DKPs in each of her last 10 games, making her a solid option in basically all formats here. That said, she has underperformed against the Lynx in the previous meetings. Diamond DeShields is currently in excellent form and will look to continue that here tonight. On the forward side, Astou Ndour makes for an interesting option here. She has been fantastic since Jantel lavender went down, and her matchup tonight is exploitable.

For the Lynx, ROY candidate Napheesa Collier has been a blessing this season. She has averaged 38.5 DKPs against the Sky this season. In addition to her recent form, this makes her an excellent option today. The price of Sylvia Fowles keeps dropping and for good reason. Her production has taken a nosedive recently. That said, Fowles is always capable of going for 40+ on any given night. At her price, she makes for an interesting play today, one with immense upside in the matchup. Odyssey Sims gets a good matchup here; the only problem is it’s a home game and she prefers playing on the road. That aside, Sims has good potential here and makes for a good GPP option. Danielle Robinson and Damiris Dantas round up the top options for the Lynx in this game.

5-Star Play: Napheesa Collier

4-Star Play: Allie Quigley, Sylvia Fowles, Courtney Vandersloot, Diamond DeShields, Odyssey Sims, Astou Ndour

Deep Value: Damiris Dantas

GPP Sleeper: Danielle Robinson

Connecticut Sun @ Seattle Storm

The Sun are a game behind the Mystics for the #1 seed. This will be a battle to the end for that position. Courtney Williams has been on fire recently, putting up back to back 40+ DKPs performances. She comes into this matchup ready to keep on rolling and makes for a solid guard option in all formats. Jonquel Jones remains one of the best bigs in the game and has a good history against the Storm. She’ll be needed by her team tonight to help secure the victory. Alyssa Thomas has the best matchup on the board here tonight and has averaged 44.4 DKPs in the previous two meetings versus the Storm this season. She’ll look to continue this epic form and take full advantage of Natasha Howard’s defense or lack thereof. A surprising option here will be Shekinna Stricklen. It is well documented how inconsistent she is, but when it comes to playing the Storm she always shows up. She is cheap and makes for an excellent GPP option on this slate.

The Storm will want to avoid getting swept and mathematically remain in the battle for a first-round bye. Natasha Howard gets the best matchup in this game and will look to exploit it. She has averaged 44 DKPs in the previous meetings and is likely to have an output in a similar range. This is by no means an easy matchup for Jordin Canada, but the Storm will have to rely on her here. She has her home/road splits going for her tonight, as she is 12.1 DKPs better at home than on the road. Jewell Loyd disappointed big-time last time out and I am hesitant to recommend her here due to the inconsistencies, however, she has averaged 25.6 DKPs against the Sun this season, and at her price makes for a decent play, just make sure to limit it to GPPs.

5-Star Play: Natasha Howard, Alyssa Thomas, Courtney Williams, Jonquel Jones

4-Star Play: Jordin Canada, Shekinna Stricklen

Deep Value: Jewell Loyd

GPP Sleeper: Shekinna Stricklen
