NFL DFS Preseason Week 3 Preview Winning Picks For Draftkings and Fanduel Fantasy Football

The best time in sports is here. Baseball is starting to wind down. From here, all that truly matters is the best, highest paying, most fish-loaded DFS sport in the industry…..NFL! Growing each and every season, contest are getting bigger and players are getting sharper (but there are still a ton of recreational fish). My name is Chris N and you can find me on twitter @cln2013_LIons, and I will have you covered for the entire preseason. What does that mean exactly? VIP members at DFS Army will be getting coaches notes for each and every slate, breakdowns for each game as well as something super spicy that will blow our members minds.

You are looking at one of our coach’s preseason NFL to date.  In the first photo, you see a the top 3 spots taken down by DFSA members on the Monday night showdown.  Following the coaches notes and being able to talk with the coaches can help members develop their plays and lineup building skills. We have had a lot of success this preseason and have dominated the leaderboards in all contests.

The 2nd picture shows a gpp takedown by one of our members this past week. Big congrats to Bwnoles and his 5k win. There is an edge to be had, and at DFS Army, we have it with our coaches notes and tools that we provide.

Congratulations to each and every one of our members who had a great week 2. Let us continue this momentum into week 3 of the preseason.

Where to Begin

Week 3 is going to be great, not only are we going to see the starters a bit more this week. We also have great sized slates for all of the contests Thursday-Saturday, with a showdown on Sunday. The sizes are perfect, not only for MME (Mass Multi-Entry) but for play 1-10 lineups as well. We will see a glimpse of coaching schemes this week as well as seeing more of the better players on the roster. Paying attention to camp notes is going to be very important, and will be something I talk about a bit later.

It is important to notice that the final practices before each team go out for their game is two days before game time. What this means for us is that we need to pay attention and see if we can find any bits of information on how the coaches plan on how long they are going to play each string of players. For example, some superstars like Aaron Rodgers may not play at all or very limited, but then you could have guys like Big Ben playing a whole half like he did last preseason week 3.

Guides To Success

We simply want to play the players who will be on the field for the longest amount of time. This will put you in the best position to succeed on this slate as well as any preseason slate. I will break this down extensively in coaches notes so that our members know exactly who to target and who to avoid each week.

Like always though, we want to make sure we are playing players who have the skill to perform. One other key thing to keep an eye on is training camp battles. These battles for potentially the last spot in that position is where a lot of money can be made. Coaches may tend to call more plays towards a certain situation because of this. This is to see if the players have what it takes to be on their 53 man roster. Teams will implement their gameplan this week. This week, the overall play should be better from each team, not only will we see the starters play longer, but the young guys will have another game under their belt. This is going to be an important week for the 1st and 2nd string players to knock off the rust going into week 1 of the regular season.

Finally, coaching tendencies. You can see below this paragraph, we have tracked the past several seasons to see how many players each team has used at each position. Along with how well they played, even including a color-coded system for members to easily identify where coaches have gone in the past. My favorite part about our research station is the 4-year rankings tab. This shows the combined average of how well teams have done in each part of the game, along with each position and how many players were used in those positions. This gives our members the massive edge that we have over the field when predicting usage and opportunity.

Thursday Week 3 Players To Keep In Mind

After you read these quick plays, learn the basics of what makes preseason different than the regular season.  My NFL Preseason Primer covers the basics quickly!

Tom Brady- Brady usually gets 1 game where he gets a full half. Since we did not see him last week, I would expect to see him out there this week. He will be playing with a lot of the younger guys on the team but has built a strong connection with most of them during training camp. It will be interesting to see how Brady plays in a real game setting with his young receivers.

Josh Jacobs- While he only saw 4 carries last week, I am expecting his usage to go up this week in order to prepare for the regular season. I expect Gruden to want to see how his 1st round picks fares going up against another team 1s for a good amount of playing time. He looked great in his limited attempts last week and I cannot wait to see him play once again this week

Calvin Ridley– The 1st team offense played a half last week and should go out there and play 1-2 drives in the 3rd quarter this week. The Redskins defense has not looked good at all this season. With Julio not expected to play in the preseason, I am looking to see if Calvin Ridley has made improvements from last years season. He should be one of the main offensive targets on this team and we will be watching his snap count this week and taking notes for what to expect in week 1. We know how dynamic of a player he is and I am hoping we get to see him involved a lot this week.

Jimmy Graham–  We will have to see how long the starters are going to play here, but there is a “safety” in picking starting TEs in the preseason because we know they will be involved. Especially in Graham’s case where he is expected to be more involved this season in the Packers offensive scheme. I am hoping to see Rodgers and Graham on Thursday night so that we can get a glimpse of how their offense is going to run in the regular season.

More details and more players will be featured in our coaching notes for each slate this weekend.  But, of course, we keep those plays locked up for our VIPs!  To become a VIP, we have a few options.  Simply start the process by visiting the link below…
