MLB Top Stacks for Fanduel and Draftkings August 14th

Welcome back, everyone! This MLB Top Stacks article will be a daily Article here at DFS Army, where I will do my best to highlight my top offenses to target each day for Fanduel and Draftkings. In the list below the MLB Top Stacks, I will also list my Top5 at each position to give you more ideas on how to construct stacks today.

If you have any questions hit me up in the DFS Army VIP chat shoot me a DM @CeeGee and we can chat one-on-one about your process.

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to check out the article 🤟❤💯

(NOTE – these could change later in the day as more lineups are confirmed)

I will update this later in the day when lineups are confirmed so make sure you follow me on Twitter so you don’t miss any of the updates @DailyRotoSharks

I use this sheet daily to help me identify top stacks on each slate

I’ve included the RAW number to show you the number that is being Ranked. This is the resulting number from my formula each day and should help illustrate exactly how much separation there is from team to team on the list. Some days there are very clear teams ranked in the Top 1 or 2. Other days they are grouped much tighter.

I’ve added a new Leverage Column, which is simply the Projection (minus) the Ownership. In theory, this should help us see who we can target at lower ownership but still a solid projection.

Let’s see how the rankings shake out below and let’s figure out where we can gain our edge today.

Mariners

  • Happy Edwin Jackson day everyone! On the season Jackson allows a 395/269 woba/iso to lefties along with a 39% fly ball rate and 39% hard contact rate. Against righties, believe it or not, he’s even worse, allowing a 545/459 woba/iso with a 37% fly ball rate and 44% hard contact rate. Every hitter in the Mariners lineup is in play here tonight. They will be chalky on a small slate, but I don’t see them letting us down here tonight vs Jackson.

Angels

  • Chris Archer has been getting lit up all year by hitters from both sides of the plate. He’s allowing a 355/243 woba/iso to lefties with a 40% fly ball rate and 41% hard contact rate. Against righties he’s marginally better but still not great, allowing a 345/201 woba/iso with a 37% fly ball rate and 36% hard contact rate. He has solid strikeout upside with a 25.7% k rate vs lefties and a 26.7% k rate vs righties so there is a chance he does well here today. That being said the Angels do not strike out much as a team, only 21.3% for today’s lineup, so I’m not too worried about loading up on them here vs Archer.

The MLB Research Staion is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. Everything from wOBA and ISO vs the Handedness of today’s starting pitcher, to Average Exit Velocity this tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with Myself and Ben you already know the time we’ve put into the “Sheets” and we’re extremely happy to bring them over here to the DFS Army!

Braves

  • Steven Matz gets a tough matchup here against a very solid Braves offense in HOTlanta tonight. On the year Matz allows a 363/193 woba/iso to lefties with 38% hard contact. Against righties he gives up a 344/202 woba/iso and 40% hard contact. The Top 5 of the Braves lineup are all in play here tonight and with the weather pushing 90 degrees, I think they can do some damage vs Matz.

Top Leverage Stacks

Mets

  • Dallas Keuchel has been solid this year but has struggled against right handed hitters. So far this year he’s allowing a 364/200 woba/iso and a 37% hard contact rate vs righties. The Mets are a solid leverage stack here as they will be lower owned than the obvious top stacks above, and they get the same great hitting conditions I mentioned with the Braves above.

Pirates

  • Nobody ever plays the Pirates and I’m going to take advantage of that tonight. They led me 2 a 2nd place $333 Monster finsh on the late slate last night and I’m going right back to them here today against Lefty Dillon Peters.

  • So far this season Peters gives up a 345/209 woba/iso to lefties and a 50% hard contact rate. Against righties he gives up a 380/266 woba/iso and a 40% fly ball rate. Reynolds, Marte and Bell are in a really solid spot here tonight.

Royals

  • Daniel Hudson has been getting smoked by left handed hitters all year, to the tune of a 401/223 woba/iso and a 45% hard contact rate. He’s pretty solid against righties so that makes this stack a bit risky. That’s what GPP Leverage stacks are supposed to be though, so I have no problem going to the Royals here

Batter Rankings 08/14

These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’m going to use the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions.

I will use the 😍 ADORE feature in the MLB Domination Station to increase the projection of each of these players by 15%. Doing this will allow me to get MORE of them throughout all of my lineups.
