Race Notes

Kentucky is another cookie cutter 1.5 mile track. It was repaved fairly recently which has led to mostly single file racing. Due to this NASCAR and the track operators have decided to put the PJ1 traction compound down in the upper grooves to try and get some side by side racing through the field. This track even dating back to the old surface has always rewarded cars with great speed in qualifying. 19 of the last 22 winners have started inside the top 5. There are very few driver changes for this week with Ryan Truex jumping back into the #8 being the most significant. Riley Herbst is back in the #18 and Ja Junior Avila is in the #99. BJ McLeod and Landon Cassill have swapped cars for this week but both are still driving for JD Motorsports. Long run speed will be king so be sure to utilize the DFS Army Research Station to get all the practice and track history info for each driver.

We have a new VIP article called The Inside Line: Xfinity Series featuring Driver/Team notes, news, as well as stats and my own personal viewpoints for every driver involved in the Xfinity Series race. This article will be available to DFS Army VIP members for every Xfinity race.

Lineup Building

Dominator / Top Tier

For this week I would look for 2-3 dominator lineups. There have been a few race where three drivers have led 40+ laps so while normally I would say look for two Doms this week three is a definite possibility. When looking for your potential Doms look no further than the same three drivers who have been killing it all year. Cole Custer, Tyler Reddick and Christopher Bell have combined to win 11 of 16 races this season and there is a very strong chance they add to that total this week. Bell and Reddick have won the last two races at Kentucky with Custer scoring back to back top 5s. Custer has led 63 laps in the last two races here with Reddick leading 66 and Bell leading 17 in his only Kentucky race. These three have only gotten better since these performances and are almost a lock to dominate this race.

Mid to Low Tier

Draftkings has really tightened up this area giving very little in terms of obvious value plays. Ryan Sieg has dropped to $8,200. Sieg along with Jones, Truex, Herbst and Haley are going to be the drivers at or below $9,000 that will have top 10 upside. Brandon Brown and Garrett Smithley have irrationally jumped up in price losing lots of value. As always when trying to find the best value position differential is ultra important. Be sure to check out practice and qualifying info in the Research Station to find the best plays.

Punts

There are quite a few Start and Park contenders in this group making a lot of the drivers unplayable. If we end up with a Kentucky race with lost of wrecks the likes of Miller, Mills and Harmon will offer solid scores. If we end up with little in terms of wrecks the guys like McLeod, Cassill, and Bassett who can finish inside the top 25 will be the way to go.
