Welcome to the DFS Army WNBA Full Court Press! You have to start your research somewhere, and often times going game by game and breaking down every matchup and its key players is the first step in our process. WNBA FULL COURT PRESS

Connecticut Sun @ Atlanta Dream

Jonquel Jones has had a phenomenal season so far and continues to be one of the top players in the league. She’ll have a good battle against Elizabeth Williams today. Alyssa Thomas showed some of the upside she brings in her last outing. She gets a tough matchup here, but she can exploit it. Courtney Williams continues to put up points this season and is once again the favorite of the Sun guards here. She has good upside and the matchup is great. Jasmine Thomas exploded against the Sparks, aided by 10 Fpts in a 20 seconds span to end the game and pad her stats. While I don’t expect that from her, she has the talent to put up such efforts regularly. Shekinna Stricklen and Layshia Clarendon continue to split time here, both are inconsistent, making it hard to recommend any.

The Dream have had a disappointing start to the season. The lone bright spot so far has been Brittney Sykes who is the leading scorer on the team. Sykes will look to continue her fine form to give her team a chance at winning this game. I’m not a fan of attacking the Sun at guard, hence the lack of interest in Renee Montgomery and Tiffany Hayes who have both been having difficult seasons. Rather, Jessica Breland and Elizabeth Williams are the go-to players here. Breland has struggled to get minutes due to foul trouble, however, when she does remain on the court, she has produced, making her a nice tournament option. Williams will have her hands full dealing with Jonquel Jones, but it is a matchup she can exploit. If Monique Billings remains sidelined, Marie Gulich is in line to get some excellent minutes off the bench. Finally, there’s some revenge narrative here with Alex Bentley facing her former team. Bentley has been playing well, making her a nice tournament option here.

5-star play: Jonquel Jones, Brittney Sykes, Alyssa Thomas

4-star play: Courtney Williams, Jasmine Thomas, Jessica Breland, Elizabeth Williams

Deep Value: Marie Gulich

GPP Sleeper: Alex Bentley

Las Vegas Aces @ New York Liberty

Liz Cambage is the first name you should look at on this slate. She gets a fantastic matchup against the Liberty in what could be a close game. Cambage should completely feast in this matchup, as it is hard to see Amanda Zahui B slowing her down. A’ja Wilson will have a slightly tougher matchup to deal with, but we have all seen what she is capable of. Attacking the Liberty through guards has been a thing. Kayla McBride finds herself in an excellent matchup and she’ll look to exploit it. Kelsey Plum has been consistent this season, making her a nice midrange option to target in a good spot. The spot is good for Dearica Hamby if she can get the minutes.

The Liberty will continue to rely on Tina Charles to carry them this season. She is the best hope the Liberty have of keeping this game close at home. Small forwards have found tremendous success against the Aces this season. This makes Asia Durr a very intriguing option on this slate. She consistently gets good minutes and her production has been steadily increasing as the season progresses. Brittany Boyd finally had the breakout game we have been waiting for. She is a very talented point guard, with the ability to rack up peripheral stats, making her a strong option in this matchup. Kia Nurse also finds herself in a spot in which she will be called upon to do more. Her ability to create shots for others makes her a valuable option here. Amanda Zahui B and Reshanda Gray will find themselves in a very tough spot here, making it hard to recommend them.

5-star play: Liz Cambage, Tina Charles, A’ja Wilson, Kayla McBride

4-star play: Asia Durr, Kelsey Plum, Brittany Boyd, Kia Nurse

Deep Value:

GPP Sleeper: Dearica Hamby

Dallas Wings @ Washington Mystics

The Wings continue to search for their first win of the season, a search that leads them to the Nation’s capital. It’s hard to be excited about this Wings team, few of their players stand out and they have to rely more on the team game to get anything going. That said, Isabelle Harrison has been having a good season. When given minutes she has produced, and the Wings must know they need her on the court to have a chance at winning. Azura Stevens has been great too, putting the minutes she has been given to excellent use. The issue with Azura is the minutes consistent. The Wings appear to be easing her in slowly. Glory Johnson and Allisha Gray have solid floors, but their upside has so far been limited this season. Arike Ogunbowale and Brooke McCarty-Williams continue to get solid minutes for this team, but they are going through the normal rookie pains, making their production inconsistent.

For the Mystics, Elena Delle Donne and Kristi Toliver lead a solid lineup. The Mystics are looking to bounce back from a blowout loss they suffered last time out. EDD will be a big part of what the Mystics do, and the matchup is an excellent one for her. Toliver also has an exploitable matchup against the Wings. LaToya Sanders is in a very good spot here. Centers have had their way with the Wings this season, and with the Mystics down to a 9-man rotation, the minutes are there for Sanders to make her voice heard. With Meesseman and Mestdagh away from the team, Tianna Hawkins and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough will continue to step up to fill the gap, making them valuable options on the slate. Finally, Natasha Cloud and Ariel Atkins make for excellent tournament options. Cloud has the ability to rack up assists in a hurry, while Atkins defense and all-around game makes her a very interesting target.

5-star play: Elena Delle Donne, Kristi Toliver

4-star play: LaToya Sanders, Isabelle Harrison, Glory Johnson, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough

Deep Value: Brooke McCarty-Williams

GPP Sleeper: Azura Stevens

Phoenix Mercury @ Indiana Fever

In the absence of Diana Taurasi, DeWanna Bonner has stepped up big time and made the Mercury her team. She is one of the top players so far this season and continues to put up big game after big game. The Mercury go as she goes. Taking a back seat to Bonner so far is one of the most dominant bigs to play the game in Brittney Griner. She can take over a game at any time and can break a slate on any given day. However, teams focus a lot on her opening room for others to shine. Yvonne Turner is averaging 30 MPG for the Mercury, making her an interesting option on every slate. Leilani Mitchell just resigned with the Mercury and in her first game this season picked up right where she left off. She is probably the top value on this slate. It’s hard to get excited about the other Mercury players as they are inconsistent, and it is conceivable that this game ends up being a low-scoring defensive fest reducing the upside of many players.

The Fever will need to rely on Candice Dupree and their guards in order to keep this game close. Dupree, as always, has tremendous upside, but she rarely shows that upside. This inconsistency in playing at her ceiling makes it difficult to count on her. On the guard front, Kelsey Mitchell has finally been getting the minutes she needs and putting up double-digit shots. She is trending in the right direction, and although the matchup is a tough one for her, she has the upside to produce in it. Erica Wheeler continues to get good minutes and make herself felt here. She is another option in a tough matchup. Her upside makes her a tournament option here. Betnijah Laney continues to get around 25 MPG and remains extremely consistent, making her an option in cash games in what is a much better matchup than that of the other guards. Finally, Tiffany Mitchell warrants a look in tournaments due to the upside she commands.

5-star play: DeWanna Bonner

4-star play: Brittney Griner, Candice Dupree, Kelsey Mitchell, Yvonne Turner, Erica Wheeler

Deep Value: Leilani Mitchell

GPP Sleeper: Leilani Mitchell

Seattle Storm @ Chicago Sky

This is the second meeting between these teams. In the first meeting, Natasha Howard and Jordin Canada paced the Storm. Howard is playing at an unbelievable level right now, staking her claim for early MVP frontrunner. It’s hard to see the Sky being able to slow her down in this matchup. Canada has made the PG spot her own in the absence of Sue Bird and has done extremely well there. She continues to perform at her ceiling game in and game out. Jewell Loyd has not had a great season so far. That said, she is extremely talented, and has the ability to go off, making her an option night in and night out. Alysha Clark has played two games so far this season, and she has been fantastic in both. She is a solid option in a good spot tonight. Mercedes Russell has slowly been picking up minutes this season, making her an interesting option in tournaments on this slate, especially against a Sky team that struggles to defend.

For the Sky, it all begins with Courtney Vandersloot. She is an extremely versatile guard, with 40+ Fpts upside. The matchup against the Storm offers her a venue to showcase her skills once again. Allie Quigley’s only good game of the season came against the Storm. She’ll look to replicate that performance here. Her talent and ability to knock down shots makes her an excellent tournament option every time she steps on the court. Diamond DeShields has been on fire over her last two games. She is playing well over 30 MPG and putting up 38+ FPPG. She makes for an excellent option on this slate, as her scoring and all-around game will be needed by the Sky in order to keep this game close. Jantel Lavender gets a good matchup here tonight. Lavender is averaging 28 MPG and translated that into 22 FDPs against the Storm in the first meeting. She makes for a nice value play on the slate with upside and a solid matchup she can exploit. If Stefanie Dolson can keep her hands to herself, the matchup is one she can exploit here as well.

5-star play: Natasha Howard, Diamon DeShields, Courtney Vandersloot

4-star play: Allie Quigley, Jordin Canada, Jewell Loyd, Alysha Clark

Deep Value: Jantel Lavender

GPP Sleeper: Stefanie Dolson
