NBA Full Court Press for Tuesday, April 16th

— MAIN SLATE (3 Games) 8:00 pm est LOCK —

Orlando Magic 101.0 at Toronto Raptors 110.7
Vegas – TOR -10.5
Total – 212

ORL Michael Carter-Williams – Questionable
ORL Isaiah Briscoe – Questionable
TOR OG Anunoby – Out
TOR Patrick McCaw – Out

The Magic surprised everyone and took a 1-0 lead over the Raptors and Raptors fans are seeing the same old song and dance where they can’t win in the playoffs. However, I still think they win this series, they might actually do it in 5 as I could see them sweeping Orlando the rest of the way. I think they come back in a big way tonight and show the Magic who’s boss tonight. Without further ado, let’s talk about who we’re playing in this game.

On the Orlando side of the ball, their rotation is pretty predictable, Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac, Nikola Vucevic, and Evan Fournier are going to play close to 35 minutes each. D.J. Augustin had himself a game last time out, but he’ll be spelled the most unless MCW sits this game out, if MCW is out then I think Augustin will play close to 40 minutes. Over the last week, Toronto has shown they can be attacked by PGs and SFs, as they are giving up FPs to those two positions at above the league average, which makes both D.J. Augustin and Jonathan Isaac solid plays here today. They have been really good against SGs though which really downgrades Evan Fournier for me. Vuc also gets a really tough matchup against Marc Gasol, as shown by his 11 point outing last game. I think he has a better game today, but I’m still going to have a hard time paying up for him at C tonight given how tough Gasol is on defense. My favorite plays from the Magic are going to be D.J. Augustin, Jonathan Isaac, and Aaron Gordon as he’ll see close to 40 minutes again and play significant time with the second unit. Terrence Ross is also a bit too pricey for me given your options tonight. I love Augustin tonight if MCW sits. If MCW does play, I like him as a Drop Score play on FanDuel as there isn’t much value floating around tonight.

On the Toronto side of the ball, their rotation is pretty predictable as well. Their starters will play close to 35 minutes, with Siakam getting a few additional minutes as well. I love Siakam again tonight as Orlando has been terrible against PFs and Siakam really showed last game that he can take full advantage of that matchup. Also, I highly doubt that Kyle Lowry scores 0 points again so I expect him to bounce back tonight. Gasol will be tasked with shutting down Vuc again, so that takes Ibaka out of play for me, as Gasol will continue to see heavy minutes. Kawhi Leonard is also a great play, as Paul George’s shoulder really scares me tonight, as we still don’t know if he’s fully healthy as he really shot poorly last game. If I’m picking between the two I’m going with Kawhi. OG Anunoby is likely out for the foreseeable future as well, which makes Normal Powell a solid Drop Score play on FanDuel.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Pascal Siakam, Kawhi Leonard, D.J. Augustin (if MCW sits)

💥💥 4 star play – Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac, Kyle Lowry, Marc Gasol

💥 Value – Michael Carter-Williams (if he plays), Norman Powell, Danny Green

San Antonio Spurs 100.5 at Denver Nuggets 107.3
Vegas – DEN -7
Total – 208

This is going to be my favorite game to watch on the night, I think the Nuggets bounce back in this game and take the win and I’m expecting Nikola Jokic to be a big part of that. He triple doubled last game and I think they’re going to need him to do the same moving forward if they want to beat Pop and the Spurs. Now let’s dive into my picks.

For the Spurs, last game they had success with flowing through DeMar Derozan, and he had himself a game and I expect him to have another one tonight. The matchup with the Nuggets bigs is forcing them to start Jakob Poeltl as he saw 24 minutes last game and he’s a decent value play here, but not my favorite. Denver has been pretty solid defensively so I’m not really interested in many Spurs other than Bryn Forbes for value and DeMar Derozan. LaMarcus Aldridge has the toughest matchup as Millsap has been solid at defending PFs all year so I’m not expecting too much from him again tonight.

On the Denver side of the ball, I already spoke on how I think Nikola Jokic is going to carry this team. He’s my favorite C play on the night as he has the ability to triple double every game moving forward. Paul Millsap is also underpriced tonight, although he doesn’t have the easiest matchup against Aldridge, but he’s definitely playable. I expect Jamal Murray to bounce back in this game as well, as the Spurs haven’t been great at defending the PG spot all year, but they did improve over the last few weeks of the season. He had a poor shooting night so he’s due for some positive regression as he took 23 shots last game. Gary Harris is also a decent value play tonight as he saw 37 minutes last game, and I expect him to continue to play big minutes moving forward. None of the Nuggets bench players really interest me though, as Monte Morris hasn’t been producing FP wise, Malik Beasley is entirely scoring dependent, and Torrey Craig is usually only in there to play defense.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Nikola Jokic, DeMar Derozan

💥💥 4 star play – Jamal Murray, Derrick White, Rudy Gay, Gary Harris, Paul Millsap

💥 Value – Bryn Forbes, Patty Mills

Oklahoma City Thunder 109.6 at Portland Trailblazers 111.6
Vegas – POR -1.5
Total – 222

OKC Hamidou Diallo – Questionable

I like Portland to take this series, even with Nurkic out of the picture, especially if Kanter keeps playing at the level he played in Game 1. He really surprised me as the matchup with Adams is definitely tough but he shines through when the Blazers needed him, and they’re going to need him to continue to play at a high level if they want to win this series.

On the OKC side, Paul George’s shoulder really worries me, as it seems to be affecting his shot. He shot 8-24 last game but he still put up 26 points. Like I said above, if I have to choose between the two, unless we get word that George’s shoulder is fine, I’m picking Kawhi over George tonight. Russell Westbrook is always in play, as he averages a triple double and will likely triple-double again in this game and he’ll play close to 40 minutes again. Dennis Schroder is a decent value, as he saw 36 minutes off the bench last game, and if his shot is falling he can really have a nice game. Steven Adams is also a decent play as the Thunder are going to need him to step it up on Kanter. Other than that I’m not looking to much else from this OKC team.

For the Blazers, Kanter had himself a game last time out, and he’s always produced when given minutes. He really elevated his game last time out and the Blazers are going to need him to do so again if they want to win again tonight. Damian Lillard is one of my favorite plays again tonight as he has the ability to take the game over and comes at a significant discount from Russell Westbrook. CJ McCollum is also underpriced everywhere and OKC has been bleeding points to SGs through the end of the season. Aminu makes for a decent value play, but I won’t be going out of my way to roster him, as he’ll see around 35 minutes again tonight. This is the hammer game tonight, so nailing those right plays is going to be key to take down those GPPs.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard, Enes Kanter

💥💥 4 star play – Paul George, Dennis Schroder, CJ McCollum, Steven Adams

💥 Value – None really in this game.
