DFS Madness’s Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups for Draftkings – Apr. 7th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

With Nikola Jokic ruled out, this tier becomes a battle of two. Nikola Vucevic and the Magic need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, while Lillard and the Blazers will be playing for seeding. Starting with Vucevic, he is averaging 44 Draftkings points per game against the Celtics this season. Look for him to shoulder the load today. CJ McCollum will be back for the Blazers today which cuts into Lillard’s usage big time. But, the Nuggets will be without a lot of their rim protection and Jamal Murray. I like them both here, deciding between the two would be pretty tough. Although the Domination Station (above) likes Vucevic to outscore Lillard 48 to 45.

Tier Two:

Both Steph Curry and Kevin Durant draw great matchups, I’ll side with Durant as he has averaged 63 Draftkings points per game in three games against the Clippers this season. Curry is still playable here, he draws a very nice matchup as well. I’ll likely avoid Bradley Beal or get a small amount in GPPs, as the Wizards look to lighten his load a bit. Rudy Gobert also draws a great matchup, as the Lakers rank 24th in defense against opposing centers. My favorite plays here are the Warriors guys, followed by Gobert.

The NBA Research Stationis my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with CeeGee and Ben you already know the time they’ve put into the “Sheets” and are extremely happy to provide them as apart of your DFS Army VIP Membership this year.

Tier Three:

The Domination Station has Aaron Gordon projected for much fewer fantasy points than the rest of these guys, I think we can safely fade him here. Kyrie Irving has averaged 45 Draftkings points per game in two games against the Magic this season. One of my favorite plays here is Thomas Bryant, as the Knicks rank 25th in defense against opposing centers. Not only that, but the Wizards are going to give him all the minutes he can handle to see if they have anything in their young center. Donovan Mitchell is my favorite play here, the Lakers rank 20th in defense against opposing shooting guards and Mitchell has gone for at least 45 Draftkings points in four straight games. Julius Randle is a fine GPP play if you want to get exposure to him.

Tier Four:

Danilo Gallinari is listed as doubtful here, so make sure to take him out of your player pool. With Gallinari off the court this season, Lou Williams sees a usage rate of 33.7% and averages about 1.34 fantasy points per minute. He is up there as my favorite play in this tier. I also like Mitchell Robinson quite a bit, he has been very consistent since receiving the starting job and has huge upside with his blocks potential. Elfrid Payton played 43 minutes in their last game, if he is going to get that type of minutes again he becomes one of my favorite plays. Rajon Rondo and Enes Kanter are GPP only plays, as they can be volatile.

Tier Five:

The Domination Station has De’Aaron Fox projected to outscore the rest of the tier. I tend to agree with it here, he draws a great matchup against a poor defensive team in an up-tempo game. Buddy Hield is in the same boat, he has a lower floor, but also has 50 point upside on any given night. Joe Ingles has scored at least 35 Draftkings points in four of his last five games and makes for a solid play here. JaVale McGee and Bobby Portis are excellent GPP plays, but maybe a little too volatile for cash games. While I’ll likely avoid Christian Wood because of his minutes’ inconsistency, Al Horford is just the opposite and provides a nice floor.

Tier Six:

Jamal Murray is being rested tonight, so make sure to take him out of your player pool. I mentioned this in my Full Court Press article, “If I told you Alex Caruso scored 60 Draftkings points in his last game would you believe me? Well he did, and he’s playing great basketball right now, you can certainly play him here.” Klay Thompson seems like he should be a tier higher than he is. He draws a great matchup with the Clippers and has a very nice floor with a pretty decently sized ceiling. Montrezl Harrell should pick up a few extra minutes with Danilo Gallinari being out tonight, and is certainly in play. Draymond Green has triple-double upside every time he steps on the court and is in play against the Clippers tonight. Evan Fournier, Jayson Tatum, and Gilgeous-Alexander are all GPP plays for me and rank toward the bottom of this tier.
