DFS Madness’s Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups for Draftkings – Apr. 10th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

I expect the Thunder to go out and try to win this game to stay in the six seed in the Western Conference, making Russell Westbrook and Paul George both playable. Giannis won’t play on the other side of the game, so there won’t be much defense to stop them. Both are certainly playable here. I’ll be avoiding Nikola Vucevic tonight, Orlando is locked into the playoffs and I wouldn’t be surprised if they limit him or just straight up sit him. The Pistons need to win to ensure a playoff spot and draw a nice matchup against the Knicks, I like Drummond here as well.

Madness’s Tier One Rankings:

  1. Russell Westbrook
  2. Paul George
  3. Andre Drummond
  4. Nikola Vucevic

Tier Two:

The Domination Station has Nikola Jokic projected to score the most points in this tier, but I actually think this tier ends up being pretty tight. Karl-Anthony Towns is currently listed as doubtful, so tell me, who is going to stop Nikola Jokic tonight? He should be able to do whatever he wants here. The Hornets need to win in order to have any chance at sneaking into the eight seed in the Eastern Conference. I expect Kemba Walker to put the team on his back here, he is certainly playable. Finally, I loved Luka Doncic yesterday and he went for a triple-double against the Suns. I like him here again tonight, as he rounds out his rookie of the year campaign.

Madness’s Tier Two Rankings:

  1. Nikola Jokic
  2. Kemba Walker
  3. Luka Doncic

Tier Three:

Tier three is another tightly projected tier, Brooklyn and the Spurs both should have incentive to win in order to stay out of the eight seeds. My favorite play here would be DeMar DeRozan, he has averaged 49 Draftkings points in three games against the Mavericks this season. Trae Young and D’Angelo Russell make for phenomenal GPP plays, as they both have massive upside. LaMarcus Aldridge rounds out this tier for me, I would rather go with one of the other three guys in this tier.

Madness’s Tier Three Rankings:

  1. DeMar DeRozan
  2. Trae Young
  3. D’Angelo Russell
  4. LaMarcus Aldridge

Tier Four:

With Giannis out tonight, people may jump on the Khris Middleton train given his great DvP%, but I don’t expect him to play his usual minutes tonight and neither does the Domination Station. Projecting him at 24 minutes is right where he should be and you need more than that in this tier. I love Delon Wright here, he’ll continue to see minutes near 40 with Conley still out. Not only this but the DvP% is skewed to having all the Warriors available. The Warriors will be playing their backups tonight, so Wright should be able to do whatever he wants. I also like Mitchell Robinson here, he’s been so consistent and has decent upside as well. Lou Williams will look to put the team on his back as the Clippers try to get out of that eight seed and avoid the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. Danilo Gallinari, Enes Kanter, and Aaron Gordon are all GPP options.

Madness’s Tier Four Rankings:

  1. Delon Wright
  2. Mitchell Robinson
  3. Lou Williams
  4. Enes Kanter
  5. Aaron Gordon
  6. Danilo Gallinari
  7. Khris Middleton

Tier Five:

De’Aaron Fox draws the best DvP% in this tier and also is projected for the most points in the Domination Station. He’s also my favorite play in this tier. Eric Bledsoe is in the same position as Khris Middleton, I don’t expect him to play his usual minutes tonight. Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley both have nice upside and are nice pivots off of Fox. Goran Dragic is a nice GPP play, and I’ll be avoiding Walt Lemon Jr. in order to play decent basketball players.

Madness’s Tier Five Rankings:

  1. De’Aaron Fox
  2. Buddy Hield
  3. Marvin Bagley
  4. Goran Dragic
  5. Walt Lemon Jr.
  6. Eric Bledsoe

Tier Six:

Tier six, normally the biggest tier, has turned into a three-man and potentially two-man tier depending on Mario Hezonja’s status. If Hezonja is playing and starting he is easily my favorite play, he’s scored at least 48 Draftkings points in three straight games. This will be Dwyane Wade’s final NBA game, but I think the real going away party was last night at home, he’s a fine GPP play. Andrew Wiggins is locked into around 30 minutes right now and is also a fine play. I don’t hate anyone in this tier, but I’ll be having a lot of Hezonja sprinkled with Wade.

Madness’s Tier Six Rankings:

  1. Mario Hezonja
  2. Dwyane Wade
  3. Andrew Wiggins
