DFS Final Four College Basketball Notes For Draftkings and Fanduel 4/6/2019

Good morning/afternoon to you beautiful people out there in DFS land!  You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army.  I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2019 Tournament Season!  Remember, if I mention a player as a cash game play they most likely are OK for GPP play.  Let’s take a look at what games are on the slate for DraftKings.  The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.

Auburn (64) vs Virginia (70)
Texas Tech (66) vs Michigan St (67)

College basketball hasn’t been back that long, and we have the coaches teaching!  Save yourself time and energy by letting us do the work.  And, if you want to see a real track record of success, stop by our Wall of Wins page to see what we’ve done in NFL, NBA, and MLB recently.  We aren’t one-trick-ponies at DFS Army, and we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge with you to help you improve your game.

AUBURN vs VIRGINIA

Auburn is on some kind of a run right now and I wouldn’t bet against them today.  The loss of Okeke is going to continue to be huge but if Harper and Brown keep doing all they can, the upset could happen.  I prefer Brown at this point.  Both guys are capable of getting hot and could rival Edwards’ performance against UVA.  The rest of Auburn is full of value plays with question marks.  My top value is Purifoy as he played 32 minutes last game and is still under 4K on DK.  He shot the ball terribly but saw the minutes and the shot attempts.  Of the remaining guys, McLemore looked the best on the floor so I do have more interest in him than guys like Doughty, Dunbar, and Spencer.

Virginia presumably is not going to need to run Salt out there for much more than 12 minutes in this one after he saw 34 against Purdue.  This means we are going to see more of Diakite paired with Hunter as the 4-5 combination.  Both of these guys can mirror the game that Washington had against Auburn last weekend.  Jerome should be in a good spot as wings are able to rebound the ball well against Auburn and we know about his ability to distribute and knock down perimeter shots.  Guy and Clark are definitely in play here as we know what Guy is capable of (look at the 2nd half of the Purdue game) and Virginia definitely isn’t here if it weren’t for Clark’s pass to send it to OT.

Preferred Plays:  Harper, Brown, Purifoy, Diakite, Hunter, Jerome

TEXAS TECH vs MICHIGAN ST

Texas Tech is playing exceptionally well right now and that makes this game EXTREMELY interesting.  Michigan St doesn’t turn the ball over a ton but we saw what TT can do on the defensive end against Gonzaga.  The biggest question is who is going to match-up with Culver in this one.  He offers such a mismatch that I just am not sure how Izzo gameplans for him.  Culver might be my top spend up option on the slate.  Mooney and Moretti are definitely in play with Mooney being my preferred option.  Owens surprised me a bit last game and now that he is over 6K on DK, I wonder if there is enough upside.  We know he has shot blocking ability but he is going to be dealing with some impressive guys in the paint.

Winston is right behind Culver for tonight’s games as he showed that defense against him does not matter.  I want to pair him with Tillman as I think that combination could give TT some fits on that end of the floor.  I love Tillman’s ability to affect the game on the defensive end as well.  Goins is going to make sense as a GPP play but I really dislike his price jump.  McQuaid can get hot from 3 but I am wondering if that’s going to happen in this tournament.  With Henry over 5K on DK, we don’t have to find a way to get him in and he could have his hands full part of the game with Culver.

Preferred Plays:  Culver, Mooney, Winston, Tillman
