NBA Full Court Press for Sunday, March 17th

— EARLY 1 Game Slate —
(Showdown and Single game only)

Los Angeles Lakers 112.3 at New York Knicks 107.8
Vegas LAL 4.5
Total 220

The 1st game of the day is only on the Single Game and Showdown slates. This is a game that should have some solid DFS plays as neither team is very good defensively. Rajon Rondo and LeBron James are my 2 favorite Lakers here and both are viable captains today. LeBron’s minutes have been cut down to around 30 per game but he still has the ability to drop 60 fantasy points in that time. Rajon Rondo is a great pivot off LeBron in the captain spot as most people will likely plug in LeBron and move on. Others I like are Kyle Kuzma and JaVale McGee with Alex Caruso being a solid value.

On the Knicks side, Dennis Smith Jr is questionable so if he’s out we can target Emmanuel Mudiay again. If Smith Jr plays he is in play here as well vs the Lakers. If Smith Jr is out Kadeem Allen could be a solid value player but nobody is really sneaky on a 1 game slate like this. If Noah Vonleh is out (currently questionable) then Luke Kornet could get the start and both a GPP dart throw option. DeAndre Jordan would benefit with Vonleh out along with Mitchell Robinson as well

💥💥💥 5 star play – Rajon Rondo, LeBron James

💥💥 4 star play – Kyle Kuzma, JaVale McGee, Emmanuel Mudiay, DeAndre Jordan

💥 Value – Luke Kornet, Kadeem Allen

Charlotte Hornets 105.5 at Miami Heat 109
Vegas MIA -3.5
Total 214.5

Tough matchup here for the Hornets in Miami. This game has the lowest total on the day so far and I won’t be targeting many players from the Hornets side. Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum and Jeremy Lamb have been playing well so you can take GPP shots at them but none of them are elite plays here.

For the Heat we can target bigs vs the Hornets who allow 5% more fantasy points to Centers and Power Forwards than the league average. Hassan Whiteside, Kelly Olynyk and Bam Adebayo are solid options here. Josh Richardson Justise Winslow have been playing well recently and are in play here as well. Both of them have been averaging close to 30 fantasy points per game over their last 5 games. Gordan Dragic is cheap coming off an injury and is a solid value along with Dion Waiters and Dwayne Wade

💥💥💥 5 star play – Hassan Whiteside, Kelly Olynyk, Bam Adebayo

💥💥 4 star play – Josh Richardson, Justise Winslow, Kemba Walker, Nicolas Batum, Jeremy Lamb

💥 Value – Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters, Dywane Wade

Philadelphia 76ers 112.3 at Milwaukee Bucks 118.8
Vegas MIL -6.5
Total 231

The Sixers and Bucks are the Showcase game on Sunday afternoon and this could be a preview of a playoff matchup. The game has a 231 total with the Bucks listed at 6.5 point home favorites. Giannis Antetokounmpo is obviously in play here and you know he gets up for these big matchups vs other stars in the league. Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton are 2 of my top targets on the Bucks and they’ve both been scoring over 30 fantasy points per game over their last 5 games. Brook Lopez could be sneaky and he’s been playing well averaging 30.6 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games. If he can keep Embid out of the paint with him perimeter shooting that could really open things up for other Bucks to attack the rim.

We will see the Sixers at full strength today, which is something we don’t always get to see with this team as it seems like Embid, or Butler are always sitting out for one reason or another. With all 4 of the big 4 in action my top target is going to be Joel Embid. Similar to Giannis Antetokounmpo he really gets motivated for these games against other stars and I’m looking for him show up big here. I’ll be targeting the rest of the Sixers in this order, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and JJ Reddick.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embid

💥💥 4 star play – Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, Brook Lopez

💥 Value – Nikola Mirotic, JJ Reddick

Toronto Raptors at Detroit Pistons
Vegas TBD
Total TBD

Not an exciting game to target here as the Raptors will likely take care of the Pistons rather easily. The big names are in play here but I’m not expecting huge games from any of them really, Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry are my top targets on the Raptors. Serge Ibaka is out again so Marc Gasol could be a decent play as they will need his size to battle with Drummond in the paint. I like Pascal Siakam always and with Ibaka out he should see some more minutes here as well.

For the Pistons the only real target for me is Andre Drummond. Over his last 5 games his averaging 43.5 fantasy points and 34 minutes per game. The Raptors are tough defensively but Drummond can put up big numbers vs almost anyone. Blake Griffin has been ice cold recently only averaging 33 fantasy points per game over his last 5 so he’s a GPP target only for me today. Same for Reggie Jackson, Ish Smith, Langston Galloway and the rest of the Pistons.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Andre Drummond

💥💥 4 star play – Blake Griffin (GPP)

💥 Value – Reggie Jackson, Ish Smith, Langston Galloway

— MAIN 4 Game Slate —

Atlanta Hawks 109.5 at Orlando Magic 117
Vegas ORL -7.5
Total 226.5

This should be an entertaining game if nothing else in Orlando. The Magic are fighting for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs while the Hawks have their minds set on the future. John Collins is the hottest player on the Hawks right now averaging 47 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games. Trae Young has tremendous upside in any matchup so he’s one of my favorite GPP plays today. Dewayne Dedmon, Taurean Prince, Kevin Huerter and Alex Len are the other options I like on the Hawks here.

The Magic have a juicy matchup vs the Hawks who have a 111 defensive efficiency rating on the year. The big men for the Magic, Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon should feast in this matchup. Evan Fournier, Jonathan Isaac and DJ Augustin are all solid mid range plays along with Terrance Ross who can get hot at any moment.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, John Collins, Trae Young

💥💥 4 star play – Evan Fournier, Jonathan Isaac. Dewayne Dedmon, Taurean Prince, Kevin Huerter, Alex Len

💥 Value – DJ Augustin

Chicago Bulls 112.8 at Sacramento Kings 119.3
Vegas SAC -6.5
Total 232

The Bulls and Kings is a great game to target today currently with the highest total on the slate. For the Bulls my top targets will be Zach LaVine, Otto Porter and Robin Lopez. LaVine has the best matchup on paper as the Kings allow 8% more fantasy points to shooting guards than the league average. Usually, I like to target Lauri Markkanen but he’s been cold recently so I’ll save him for GPP only today.

The Kings are 6.5 point home favorites here and they are clearly a better team overall. De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield are my top targets on this team as the Bulls have been bad vs guards all year. The Bulls have a 111 defensive efficiency rating on the season and allow 6% and 5% more fantasy points to point guards and shooting guards than the league average. Harrison Barnes, Willie Cauley Stein, Marvin Bagley and Bogdan Bogdanovic are all very solid plays here as well for the Kings.

💥💥💥 5 star play – De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Zach LaVine, Otto Porter

💥💥 4 star play – Lauri Markkanen, Harrison Barnes, Willie Cauley Stein, Marvin Bagley, Bogdan Bogdanovic

💥 Value – Ryan Arcidiacono, Wayne Selden, Nemanja Bjelica, Harry Giles

Minnesota Timberwolves at Houston Rockets
Vegas TBD
Total TBD

James Harden is questionable for today’s game against the T’Wolves. If he is out Chris Paul will get the biggest usage increase on the team and will be a virtual lock in all formats. Clint Capella will get a boost as well as Eric Gordon. Other Rockets that could see some extra minutes would be Austin Rivers and Gerald Green. My main target here is Chris Paul by a pretty wide margin. If James Harden ends up playing, he’ll have the 2nd highest raw projection on the slate behind Giannis Antetokounmpo.

For the T’Wolves, I’m going to target Karl Anthony Towns who has been on fire recently. Over his last 5 games he is averaging 56 fantas points per game. The Rockets have a solid center in Clint Capella but I still love this matchup for Towns. Jeff Teague is out and Derrick Rose is questionable so Tyus Jones would be a great value play if they are both ruled out. Everyone else on the T’Wolves is a GPP play for me

💥💥💥 5 star play – James Harden, Chris Paul, Clint Capella, Karl Anthony Towns

💥💥 4 star play – Tyus Jones, Andrew Wiggins

💥 Value – Tyus Jones, Keita Bates Diop

Brooklyn Nets 112.5 at Los Angeles Clippers 118.5
Vegas LAC -6.0
Total 231

Great game to target here and the HAMMER game as the last game on the slate today. On the Nets side I’m going to be targeting D’Angelo Russell and Jarrett Allen. The Clippers are not great defensively but they are very bad against Centers. On the year they have allowed 12% more fantasy points to Centers than the league average so this is a smash spot for Jarrett Allen. There are plenty of other options we can target on the Nets but they are all secondary plays for me. Dinwiddie, LeVert, Harris, Carrol, Kurucs are all in play here in this matchup

The Clippers are fighting to hold onto the final playoff spot in the west and this matchup is a pretty good one for them. Currently listed as 6 point home favorites my top targets on their side ar going to be Lou Williams, Danillo Gallinari and Montrezl Harrell. All 3 of these guys have been averaing 35+ fantasy points per game over their last 5 game and I expect them to keep that rolling tonight. Patrick Beverly, Ivaica Zubca and Shai Alexander are all solid GPP options as well.

💥💥💥 5 star play – D’Angelo Russel, Jarrett Allen, Lou Williams, Danillo Gallinari, Montrezl Harrell

💥💥 4 star play – Patrick Beverly, Ivaica Zubca, Shai Alexander, Dinwiddie, LeVert, Harris, Carrol, Kurucs

💥 Value – Landry Shamet, Ed Davis
