NBA Full Court Press for Sunday, March 10th

— Early 1 Game Slate —
(Single Game and Showdown Only)

Chicago Bulls – 104.5 at Detroit Pistons – 112.5
Vegas DET -8.0
Total 217

The Bulls jumped out to a 21 point lead against these Pistons on Friday night. The Pistons battled their way back however and thanks in large part to a 43 point 4th quarter they came back to win the game 112-104. Blake Griffin led the way for the Pistons after starting off slow he finished strong and scored 27 points. He didn’t do much else however only grabbing 3 rebounds and 3 assists. I’m expecting a better game from Blake here today.

The Bulls have struggled mightily against opposing Centers this season. On the year they’ve allowed 7% more fantasy points to the position than the league average. Andre Drummond had himself a Barbara Walters special on Friday night scoring 20 points and grabbing 24 rebounds. He’s in line for another great game here.

Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard and Ish Smith round out the list of Pistons I will be interested in this matchup.

On the Bulls side they have a few guys that we love to target in our DFS Lineups. Lauri Markkanen, Zach LaVine and Otto Porter are the 3 main pieces we want from this team. Friday night Porter had the best game of the 3 scoring 44.8 fantasy points. He is also the cheapest of the 3 so he’s a good option here on a small early slate. Markkanen and LaVine both have tremendous upside but are both priced in the mid $8k range because of it.

You can get some decent value from Robin Lopez but I’m not a huge fan of targeting Centers vs Drummond as he’ll lose plenty of rebounds to him in this one. Outside of Markkanen, LaVine and Porter there isn’t much else to like from this Bulls team in this slow paced matchup.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Blake Grffin, Andre Drummond

💥💥 4 star play – Lauri Markkanen, Zach LaVine, Otto Porter, Reggie Jackson

💥 Value – Ish Smith, Luke Kennard

— Early 2 Game Slate —

Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat
Vegas MIA -1.5
Total 216

Kawhi Leonard is out again today vs the Heat. With Kawhi out several Raptors will get usage increases. Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam are my 2 favorites to target when Kawhi is out. Each receives a significant usage increase with Leonard off the floor. Lowry is averaging 39.7 fantasy points in his last 5 games and Siakam is averaging 35.2. Other players I’ll be targeting in Kawhi’s absence are Serge Ibaka and possibly Jeremy Lin if he enters the starting lineup. The Heat are a solid defensive team that plays at a slow pace so this is not a walk in the park for the Raptors. I have some concern with this being a Sunday afternoon game in Miami, as we have no idea what these guys were up to Saturday Night in South Beach.

On the Heat side, there are several players who we can target and who have been playing well. Kelly Olynyk has been solid recently and provides a ton of energy for this Heat team. He’s been playing 32 minutes and averaging 33.8 fantasy points over his last 5 games. His price has risen to the $6k range so he’s not a lock and load value but still a solid play.

Justise Winslow and Josh Richardson are 2 others that I like to target. Both play around 30-34 minutes per night and both average over 30 fantasy points per game. They are similarly priced so it’s really a toss-up between them. Bam Adebayo has started the last 6 games and he’s scored over 29 fantasy points in 4 of those games. He has been averaging 26 minutes and 29 fantasy points in his last 5 games. He is only priced at $5,400 on Fanduel so he’s a solid value there.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam

💥💥 4 star play – Serge Ibaka, Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Kelly Olynyk,

💥 Value – Jeremy Lin, Bam Adebayo

Indiana Pacers at Philadelphia 76ers
Vegas PHI -6.0
Total 217

The Sixers have gone 4-4 in their last 8 games without Joel Embid but he is expected to return today vs the Pacers. I’m expecting Embid to be somewhat limited since this is his first game back so I’ll reserve him for a GPP Only play today. With Embid back we should expect a few less opportunities for Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris. Both have averaged 35+ fantasy points over their last 5 games with Embid out. Ben Simmons ceiling may take a small hit with Embid back but I like him more than Butler and Harris here.

The Pacers are surprisingly sitting in the #3 spot in the East despite losing Victor Oladipo to a season-ending knee injury earlier this season. They are desperately trying to hold off the Celtics and Sixers for that #3 spot so you know they’re going to give it everything they’ve got today.

Myles Turner has been on fire scoring 45 and 56 fantasy points in his last 2 games. I’m only going here in GPP’s however against Embid. Bojan Bogdanovic has been carrying the scoring load recently averaging 32 minutes and 36.3 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games. Domanats Sabonis is only $6,600 and would be a great value if he returns from injury today. Darren Collison, Cory Joseph and Wes Matthews are all solid plays here as well.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Ben Simmons, Bojan Bogdanovic

💥💥 4 star play – Joel Embid, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, Myles Turner, Darren Collison

💥 Value – Domantas Sabonis (Q), JJ Reddick, Wes Matthews, Cory Joseph

New Orleans Pelicans at Atlanta Hawks
Vegas ATL -2.0
Total 238

This game has the highest vegas total on the slate currently sitting at 237 with the Hawks favored by 2. The Hawks are still dealing with several injuries but it looks like Dewayne Dedmon may get back into the lineup today. If he’s back that will hurt the Alex Len value train we’ve been riding the last few days. My favorite targets for the Hawks, regardless of Dedmon’s availability, are Trae Young and John Collins. Over his last 5 games, Trae Young has averaged 40 minutes and 48.6 fantasy points per game while Collins has averaged 31 minutes and 35.1 fantasy points per game. Collins recently returned from injury and it was said that he’ll have a 30-minute cap for a few games, however, yesterday he dropped 62.5 on the Nets in just 29 minutes. Taurean Prince, Kent Bazemore and Kevin Huerter are decent value plays here as well in an uptempo game which will have little to no defense.

If Anthony Davis plays he could score 50 fantasy points in just 20 minutes vs this Hawks team. I won’t hold my breath on him playing or scoring 50 if he does, I’m just pointing out the fact that this Hawks team is simply awful defensively. I want to target Julius Randle and Elf Payton here even if Davis plays. With Jrue Holiday already ruled out these two are going to carry the scoring load here today. Kenrich Williams is a solid mid-level play and Frank Jackson could be great value play again if he enters the starting lineup for Holiday. If Davis is ruled out, Cheick Diallo will be a great value play as well.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Trae Young, John Collins, Julius Randle, Elf Payton

💥💥 4 star play – Taurean Prince, Kent Bazemore, Kenrich Williams

💥 Value – Cheick Diallo (if Davis out), Frank Jackson

Houston Rockets – 115.8 at Dallas Mavericks – 107.8
Vegas HOU 8.0
Total 223.5

James Harden has recently been reaching the same usage rates as he was when Chris Paul was out. He’s hit 40% in 8 of his last 10 games. He’s one of the top raw projections on the slate as always but there is some blowout risk here with the Rockets currently favored by 8 against the Mavericks. I still like Harden but because of his price will probably only go here in GPP’s today. I’m not overly excited about anyone else really on the Rockets right now. Chris Paul seems a little too expensive close to $9k.

Clint Capela would be my next target if I was going here only priced at $8k on Fanduel he’s got 50 point upside but the Mavs are pretty solid vs Centers so he’ll be a GPP only play as well for me. PJ Tucker can provide some value under $5k as he plays a ton of minutes for this team. If you’re trying to catch lightning in a bottle you could take a shot on Gerald Green or Austin Rivers at near min price in Tourneys.

On the Mavs side of the ball the top target today and every day is Luka Doncic. His price is where it should be however so his upside is diminished. Dwight Powell has been on fire recently averaging 34 minutes and 33.3 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games. Tim Hardaway Jr and Jalen Brunson can provide some solid value and Dorian Finney Smith is a solid drop score candidate who should play around 25 minutes.

💥💥💥 5 star play – James Harden, Luka Doncic

💥💥 4 star play – Clint Capela, Dwight Powell

💥 Value – Tim Hardaway Jr, Jalen Brunson, Gerald Green, Austin Rivers

Phoenix Suns – 109 at Golden State Warriors – 126
Vegas GS -17.0
Total 235

Huge total here of 235 the 2nd highest on the slate but also a huge blowout risk with the Warriors being listed as 17 point favorites. I really hate projecting blowouts but I can’t overlook the nearly 20 point spread in this one. Everyone for the Warriors is going to be a GPP only play for me because I expect this game to get out of hand quickly. If this game stays close (and thats a big if) I’m very high on DeMarcus Cousins as the Suns allow 12% more fantasy points to Centers than the league average. Next up would be the big 3 of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. All could smash even in limited minutes but I’m not going to bank on it here. Curry has the best on paper matchup of the 3 followed by Thompson and then Durant. Draymond Green is priced under $7k and could be a solid upside play in GPP’s

On the Suns side, they have several players we could target, again, assuming the game stays somewhat close. Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, Kelly Oubre are the 3 I like the most. The Warriors and Suns both play fast and there will be plenty of opportunities for these 3 to rack up fantasy points. Tyler Johnson and Mikal Bridges should get minutes even if there is a blowout

💥💥💥 5 star play – DeMarcus Cousins, Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton

💥💥 4 star play – Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Kelly Oubre

💥 Value – Tyler Johnson, Mikal Bridges

Orlando Magic – 104.3 at Memphis Grizzlies – 103.3
Vegas ORL 1.0
Total 207.5

This game has the lowest total on the slate at just 207.5 so we won’t be targeting it too heavily today. One guy I do like, however, is Mike Conley who has been on a tear recently. Over his last 5 games, he is averaging 34 minutes and 43.9 fantasy points per game. He has scored 51 fantasy points in back to back games vs the Blazers and the Jazz and I’m expecting another solid game from him here today. Maybe not 50+ but he shoud reach 40+ today vs the Magic. Jonas Valanciunas has been playing great also. He’s scored 37 or more fantasy points in 5 of his last 7 games and he’s getting more minutes in Memphis that he was getting in Toronto. Avery Bradley, Delon Wright and Joakim Noah are all very solid mid-range plays today as well.

For the Magic, the top DFS target is almost always Nikola Vucevic and today is no different. Despite a tough matchup vs the Grizzlies, he’s the top option here. Aaron Gordon is the clear number two while Jonathan Isaac and Evan Fournier are battling for the 3rd spot. I’ll have some of them in GPP’s but will not be targeting anyone from this team heavily in a tough matchup. DJ Augustin is a solid value along with Terrance Ross.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Mike Conley, Nikolva Vucevic

💥💥 4 star play – Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac, Evan Fournier, Avery Bradley, Delon Wright

💥 Value – DJ Augustin, Joakim Noah

New York Knicks – 108 at Minnesota Timberwolves – 119
Vegas MIN -11.0
Total 227

The Knicks are in a solid matchup here against a T’Wolves team with a 110 defensive efficiency rating. DeAndre Jordan recently returned from injury and is playing around 25 minutes per game. He’s scored 39 and 35 fantasy points in those 2 games but his return hurts the upside of Mitchell Robinson. In the 2 games with Jordan back Robinson has played 22 minutes in each and has scored 35 and 29 fantasy points. We know he’s got tremendous upside when he can reach 30 minutes but he won’t reach that mark with Jordan back in the lineup so he’s a GPP only play for me. Dennis Smith Jr, Allonzo Trier, Noah Vonleh and Damyean Dotson are all decent plays but honestly, they are all GPP plays for me because I can’t really trust any of them.

On the T’Wolves side, we have Karl Anthony Towns being listed as questionable along with Andrew Wiggins tonight. If Towns is out (i’m expecting him to be out) then Taj Gibson will be a great value play across the industry as he’ll play 30+ minutes here. Derrick Rose will also get a usage increase if Towns is out. If Wiggins is out Keita-Bates Diop will probably start again. He played 36 minutes the other day and scored 23 fantasy points. He’s near min price across the industry and will be a solid value play but his upside is limited. Jeff Teague and Dario Saric are in play as well and are both better plays if Towns is out.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Taj Gibson

💥💥 4 star play – Jeff Teague, Derrick Rose, Mitchell Robinson, DeAndre Jordan

💥 Value – Taj Gibson, Dario Saric

Milwaukee Bucks at San Antonio Spurs
Vegas SA -1.5
Total 227

The Bucks visit the Spurs here in a game with a 227 total and the Spurs favored by 1.5. The Spurs defense has not been great this year as they have a 109 defensive efficiency rating. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been solid all year but recently his upside has been limited. He has not reached 50 fantasy points in 5 of his last 6 games. The one game he did eclipse 50 he broke the slate with a 76 fantasy point game vs the Jazz. He’s a GPP only target for me here today. Brook Lopez has been rock solid recently and has scored 35+ fantasy points in 6 of his last 8 games. Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton have been steady as well but I’m not sure I’ll target either of them too heavily here. This should be a close competitive game but I’m not really expecting a ceiling game out of anyone on the Bucks today.

The Spurs are favored here but they have a tough matchup vs the best team in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks defense is no joke and I don’t go out of my way to target players against them. That being said my top option on the Spurs is LaMarcus Aldridge who has averaged 37 minutes and 42.8 fantasy points over his last 5 games. DeMar DeRozan is my 2nd target and Derrick White is my 3rd target. White has been playing really well recently averaging 39.8 fantasy points over his last 5 games and is very affordable at only $6,500 on Fanduel.

💥💥💥 5 star play – Giannis Antetokounmpo, LaMarcus Aldridge

💥💥 4 star play – Derrick White, DeMar DeRozan

💥 Value – Bryn Forbes, Ersan Ilyasova
