Friedman’s DK Tiers – DraftKings NBA Tiers for March 17, 2019

Hi there! I’m Aaron/AFriedman15 (@AFriedman15DFS)  and this is Friedman’s DK Tiers, where I will break down the DraftKings Tiers slate using information from the DFS Army NBA Research Station (RS),  DFS Army Domination Station (DS),  and other sources. I will generally try to write Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Weekends, but I may have some spare time on other days as well.

In my articles, I will use a few terms which may or may not be familiar:

DKFPPG = DraftKings Fantasy Points Per Game

DKFPPM =DraftKings Fantasy Points Per Minute

Tier 1:

James Harden is questionable for tonight’s game, so make sure to watch out here. If we get word that he’ll play, Harden is the cash play. The hard part is that the game starts at 9pm ET. The good thing though, is that Karl-Anthony Towns is in the same game.  KAT is averaging 60 DK FP in his last ten games. I would bookmark KAT here in cash games, and if Harden plays it is an easy pivot. Vucevic is worth some ownership #BecauseAtlanta. Vuc has a great matchup here, so I don’t mind 10-20% of him here.

Tier 2 :

Zach LaVine is my cash play in this tier with the best And1 rating and the most projected DK points too. I also lik low 8% more fantasy points to shooting guards than the league averagee John Collins a lot too. Collins is averaging 47.8 DK FP over his last three, compared to LaVine’s 46.5. However, in his preview (link below), CeeGee mentions that the Kings allow 8% more fantasy points to shooting guards than the league average. Plus, the Bulls get a pace up game here, while the Hawks get a pace down game. LaVine is my cash/SE play here while Collins is fine in GPPs.

Tier 3:

De’Aaron Fox is my favorite play from this tier. He went for 49 DK FP in his last game against the Bulls who are allowing 6% more fantasy points to point guards then the league average. D’Angelo Russell always has a lot of upset here too, and could be interesting in GPPs as he returns home to the Staples Center.  Aaron Gordon is a dark horse candidate here too. He gets the biggest pace up matchup in this tier. I’d go Fox for cash/SE and Russell, Gordon, and Capela in GPPs.

Tier 4:

I’d probably just play Chris Paul in cash and hope that James Harden is out. If Harden is out, just eat the Chris Paul chalk here.  I also don’t have a problem with any of the three Clippers. Harrell has been on fire and gets the centers vs. Brooklyn matchup, while Lou and Gallo have been mostly playing really well too.

Tier 5:

This is by far the hardest tier for me. No one has been playing super well and there are no amazing matchups in this tier. I am deciding between Spencer Dinwiddie and Harrison Barnes in cash.  They feel by far the safest. I would also take a few shares of Marvin Bagley III as he could crush even with the smallest amount of minutes. Bagley would be GPP only in 10% of your lines.

Tier 6:

Jarrett Allen is my clear favorite play in this tier. As CeeGee mentions in his Full Court Press today, the Clippers are very bad defensively, and this is a smash spot for Allen. I do think Dunn will go overlooked here. He gets one of the better matchups in this tier going against DeAaron Fox who has not established himself defensively. Those are my two favorite plays in Tier 6.

Those are your DK Tiers! Some are going to be commonplace, and some won’t.  These are players my research led me to and some will contain risk.  Your research may indicate you agree or disagree, and that’s ok….we discuss these things in our coaching channels nightly.  Good luck tonight!  Check the coaches picks for even more confidence in your plays.  And always consult all of the unlocked tools (including the Research Station) before lock!  And, if you are catching me on a #FreebieFriday, you are going to want to unlock those coaching channels by admitting……
