DFS Madness’s Strategy for Winning NBA Tiers Lineups on Draftkings – Mar. 11th, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One:

The Domination Station has these three players in tier one projected fairly close to each other, so let’s see if we can find an edge somewhere. James Harden is averaging the most points per minute on the season at 1.64. However, Russell Westbrook draws the best matchup, the Jazz has been sneaky bad against point guards this season. In three matchups with the Jazz this season, Westbrook has averaged 55.5 fantasy points per game. James Harden scored 50 fantasy points against the Hornets in his earlier matchup with them this season. Finally, Bradley Beal is playing around 40 minutes per game and producing at an elite efficiency. He’s gone over 50+ fantasy points in eight of his past ten games. Beal owns the lowest usage rate of these three, but has a similar ceiling at a 40-45 point FLOOR. Deciding in this tier is tough, I’m tempted to side with Russell Westbrook in a competitive game against the Jazz.

The NBA Research Stationis my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. The info in the NBA ReSearch Station includes today’s 📊 DFS Army Projection, Adjusted DVP matchups and much more. This tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with CeeGee and Ben you already know the time they’ve put into the “Sheets” and are extremely happy to provide them as apart of your DFS Army VIP Membership this year.

Tier Two:

The Domination Station loves Paul George here and is projected just behind the guys in tier one, then there’s a decent sized step to the other three players in this tier. I need to give credit to out coach, BoomersDaddy, he got me off of Paul George the other day because he doesn’t look right. Sure enough, he went out in that game and only scored 23 fantasy points. George is averaging 68 fantasy points per game in three games against the Jazz this season which makes him very appealing. I like George quite a bit here, but we need to be careful just in case he is still feeling that his injury to his shoulder. Centers against Brooklyn… Andre Drummond draws a fantastic matchup and has been in incredible form lately, going for 60+ fantasy points in two of his last three games. Drummond is probably my favorite play in this tier, in two matchups against the Nets this season he is averaging 56.9 fantasy points per game. Kawhi Leonard ended up sitting last night, and gets another matchup they won’t need him in tonight against the Cavs. He and Donovan Mitchell are still fine plays in this tier, but I’d still prefer one of the other two.

Tier Three:

The Domination Station likes Blake Griffin the most here, and I have to agree. I admittedly rarely play Blake Griffin because it always feels like he under-performs. However, this is a great spot for Blake Griffin. In two matchups against the Nets this season Griffin is averaging 46.1 Draftkings points per game. I don’t love targeting point guards against the Rockets because Chris Paul is such an elite on-ball defender. With that said, Kemba Walker scored 55 fantasy points in his earlier matchup against this team. Rudy Gobert is in the same boat, I don’t target centers against Steven Adams. In three matchups against the Thunder, Gobert is averaging 43.1 Draftkings points per game. Kevin Love is finally getting 30 points per game, it’s a tough matchup but he’s certainly playable here. Finally, D’Angelo Russell is always playable in GPP, but a little too volatile for cash games.

Tier Four:

The Domination Station likes Clint Capela the most of this tier, and again I’m going to agree. The Hornets are not nearly big enough to handle Capela and his physicality here. In an earlier matchup against the Hornets this season, Capela scored 52.8 fantasy points. Chris Paul also draws a great matchup here, he scored 40.8 in this matchup earlier. The Washington and Sacramento game is the highest projected total on the slate at 240. If we want to try and stack that thing up Buddy Hield and De’Aaron Fox are very in play. Of the two I would probably prefer Buddy Hield who has flashed the more consistent upside this season. Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry are GPP only for me due to the potential blowout against the Cavaliers.

Tier Five:

The Domination Station has Al Horford projected for six more fantasy points than any other guy in this tier. He draws a very good matchup against the Clippers. He struggled in their first matchup and Horford only scored 25 Draftkings points. Lou Williams draws a tough matchup against the Celtics, but is coming off a huge 65 point fantasy point game, he’ll look to stay hot here. We can look to go back to that Wizards and Sacramento game here with Trevor Ariza and Bobby Portis. Of the two, Ariza is the safer option for cash games. Whereas Portis makes for a great GPP option, he has scored 40+ fantasy points in three of his last four games. I don’t really have much interest in Danilo Gallinari or Joe Ingles unless Rubio is out again, then Ingles can be played as he’ll have more ball-handling duties. Spencer Dinwiddie is fine GPP play as well, as he’s coming off a pretty big game himself.

Tier Six:

The Domination Station has Jeremy Lamb projected for the highest point game here. He has been coming off the bench lately but has gotten more usage and shots off the bench. He’s got huge upside and a decent floor at this tier, he’s a very solid option. I love targeting centers against the Wizards, and Willie Cauley-Stein is getting more minutes now that Marvin Bagley is down with an injury. He scored 45.3 Draftkings points in an earlier matchup against the Wizards this season. Jayson Tatum draws a fast-paced matchup against the Clippers, targeting him in these type of matchups has proven to be profitable. Tomas Satoransky is a guy I like targeting because of the amount of peripheral stats he picks up, he’s playing around 40 minutes per game and has an incredibly safe floor. Derrick Favors and Serge Ibaka are both fine GPP plays, but I would prefer Montrezl Harrell of the three, he scored 35 Draftkings points in an earlier matchup against the Celtics.
