DFS College Basketball March Madness Notes For Draftkings and Fanduel 3/31/2019

Good morning/afternoon to you beautiful people out there in DFS land!  You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army.  I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2019 Tournament Season!  Remember, if I mention a player as a cash game play they most likely are OK for GPP play.  Let’s take a look at what games are on the slate for DraftKings.  The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.

Auburn (71) vs Kentucky (73)
Michigan St (77) vs Duke (76)

College basketball hasn’t been back that long, and we have the coaches teaching!  Save yourself time and energy by letting us do the work.  And, if you want to see a real track record of success, stop by our Wall of Wins page to see what we’ve done in NFL, NBA, and MLB recently.  We aren’t one-trick-ponies at DFS Army, and we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge with you to help you improve your game.

AUBURN vs KENTUCKY

Was devastating to see Okeke go down in the last game after having such a dominating performance.  Selfishly it also robs us of an excellent performer for DFS purposes.  All season I have been high on the ability of Purifoy and have stated his per minute ability should his minutes ever increase.  Well, today is that day for Purifoy and I will have a TON of exposure.  He won’t have to cover the loss of Okeke himself and Spencer is going to see an uptick in minutes so he is in play as well.  I expect guys like Harper, Brown, Dunbar, and Doughty to be motivated to play for Okeke in this spot.  I even think McCormick is in play yet again, as Harper is having trouble with fouls recently.

Washington returned last game for the UK and looked extremely solid when on the floor.  He managed to play 28 minutes, which was much higher than expected.  I like this spot for him, especially with Okeke being out for Auburn.  Washington’s effectiveness is going to take away from Travis, but I think he can be used in all formats due to a price drop.  The trio of Hagans, Herro, and Johnson played pretty well against Auburn across 2 games during the season so I want exposure to each of them.  The return of Washington basically eliminates Richards and Montgomery from my player pool.

Preferred Plays:  Purifoy, Brown, Dunbar, Washington, Herro, Johnson

MICHIGAN ST vs DUKE

This game is going to be extremely interesting.  On paper, Duke should win this game as I just don’t see MSU being able to keep up.  The problem with that is, Tom Izzo is a genius.  Winston draws the toughest match-up so I have to consider him a GPP only play going up against Tre Jones defense.  I do think that the Spartans are going to need McQuaid to step up and make some shots and he could see a boost should Reddish be out for Duke.  Henry is going to be even more popular than he has been and while I will probably have a lot of exposure, I suggest NOT expecting the same performance.  I am very much interested in the GoinsTillman combination for MSU.  Tillman is my preference as Goins is going to be dealing with Zion.

Shockingly, my favorite Duke player in this game is Tre Jones.  He is taking a bunch of shots and while I do not expect him to knock down 3s at the same rate, I do expect his usage to stay up if Reddish is out.  Jones also gets the benefit of drawing Winston defense, which is the weakest spot of MSU’s D.  Williamson is definitely second on my list with Barrett following him.  I have respect for Henry defense against Barrett but I would guess that Barrett is close enough to match-up proof to make sense.  If O’Connell starts for Reddish, I like his game for GPP purposes while the big duo of DeLaurier and Bolden are really tough to figure out.

Preferred Plays:  McQuaid, Henry, Tillman, T.Jones, Williamson
