DFS College Basketball Game Notes For Draftkings and Fanduel Late Slate 3/9/2019

Good morning to you beautiful people out there in DFS land!  You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army.  I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2018-2019 CBB season!  Remember, if I mention a player as a cash game play they most likely are OK for GPP play.  Let’s take a look at what games are on the slate for DraftKings and Fanduel.  The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.

UCLA (78) vs Utah (81) – DK Only
Michigan (65) vs Michigan St (69)
DePaul (73) vs Creighton (81)
Vanderbilt (65) vs LSU (81)
Tulsa (74) vs Memphis (82)
Oregon (59) vs Washington (65)
San Diego St (64) vs Nevada (78)

UCLA vs UTAH – DK Only

UCLA is definitely a different team when they are on the road.  Because of that we probably are only going to be targeting Hands and Bernard in this spot.  I think you could consider Wilkes as a GPP shot but I just do not trust him.  Hands is generally one of my favorite targets but I think tonight he is just a fine GPP play.  Bernard is a cash safe play as long as Ali is still out.

Utah is an excellent spot to target tonight as Barefield and Allen are in excellent spots.  If Johnson misses again, Tillman becomes a viable GPP option and he may still be in play even if Johnson sees the floor.  Gach and Van Dyke are GPP plays with some upside, while Topalovic would become a very interesting play should Johnson sit.

Preferred Plays:  Bernard, Barefield, T.Allen

MICHIGAN vs MICHIGAN ST

This game is going to be fun to watch but might make an easy fade for fantasy purposes based on the slate.  I am not against Simpson or Teske in GPPs for Michigan have they have been UM’s two most consistent players.  I would guess that Matthews plays so that takes some upside away from Livers.

For Michigan St, I would get exposure via either Tillman or Goins.  I love using bigs against Michigan.  Winston is a safe, cash option at the G position even in a slow match-up.  Henry or McQuaid could be used as GPP darts but I just do not love them in this spot.

Preferred Plays:  Goins

DEPAUL vs CREIGHTON

This is the game that I am intrigued by but have very little idea of how it is actually going to go down.  DePaul has been relying on their big men on the road which means Reed or Olujobi probably have a monster game.  The problem is that Strus has kind of re-emerged and has gone for back-to-back monster games.

Creighton has slowed it down a little bit recently but that shouldn’t stop them from putting up monster stat lines.  Krampelj is my preferred play with guys like Alexander and Ballock as GPP options.  Mintz and Zegarowski need to be considered while I could see Joseph getting some extra run in this one.

Preferred Plays: Reed, Krampelj

VANDERBILT vs LSU

Vanderbilt is bad and they head to a team that just had their head coach suspended.  This game could just be ugly.  I like to use Nesmith and Lee for Vandy, but that is about it.  Wetzell could be a nice GPP dart play for value purposes.

Smart is going to sit this one out with the head coach so that kind of puts Waters back in play for us here.  I think he has major GPP upside to go with the big men being in a GREAT spot.  Bigby-Williams on senior day is somebody I want exposure to and Reid has monster upside in a cake-walk match-up.  Mays will go overlooked which means he is an excellent GPP play.

Preferred Plays:  Wetzell, Waters, Bigby-Williams, Reid

TULSA vs MEMPHIS

For a terrible Tulsa team, it is basically all about Jeffries and Horne with Horne being my preferred option.  This game should be higher scoring so you could use Scott, who has been on fire.  I wouldn’t expect a 30+ spot but a 20+ game is certainly in play.

Memphis is all about Martin.  Martin has been on a tear of late and I look for him to continue it in this game.  I think Thornton is definitely a cash option while guys like Davenport, Parks, and Brewton are GPP plays for a team projected to score more than 80.

Preferred Plays:  Horne, Martin

OREGON vs WASHINGTON

This game is going to be extremely slow.  I honestly have zero desire to target this one tonight.  I have no interest in anybody from Oregon and fleeting interest in guys like Nowell, Thybulle, and Dickerson for UW on Senior Day.  Dickerson has the GPP winning upside so he should be considered in a lineup or two.

Preferred Plays:  Dickerson

SAN DIEGO ST vs NEVADA

This game is going to garner a bunch of ownership.  I like the spot for SD State, I just wish a couple of guys were cheaper.  McDaniels has elite talent but a high price tag while Watson has upside but still a high price tag.  I really like Hemsley, Mensah, and Schakel as GPP options with Hemsley being a pretty solid cash play.

Nevada has the Martin twins to go with Caroline in a spot where they love to get up and down the court.  The Martin brothers are playing really well so I would want exposure to them while Caroline as the biggest upside.  Thurman and Johnson offer really nice GPP upside but are capable of disappearing.

Preferred Plays:  Hemsley, Mensah, Caroline, Ca.Martin, Co.Martin
