DFS NBA Lineup Strategies – Blande’s 6th Man – Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Jan 18th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande. I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army. If you are not yet a member, we have something special for you right now. Use the link here and promo code “BLANDE” to get 20% off your subscription.

Seven games tonight on a slate headlined by Anthony Davis. There are a lot of studs in good positions today, necessitating the search for good value to play around as many of them as possible. That’s what the 6th Man is here for, and thanks to #FreebieFriday from the DFS Army, we are providing this VIP content to the public today. Take this opportunity to sample the products and sign up to become a VIP member. Let’s take a look at some of the top 6th Men popping up early today.

Shoutout to Lins14 for this amazing takedown!

CORE PLAYS

PG – Spencer Dinwiddie (6000/5700): Dinwiddie will be chalky tonight after his performance against the Rockets. The matchup is not a good one, but some PGs have found success against the Magic. Dinwiddie’s chalkiness and streaky ability make him viable in this spot in cash games. His floor is also ok given his price for cash games.

SG – Lou Williams (6800/6700): Sweet Lou has a rich history against the Warriors. He has put up 58.9, 40.2, 40.4, and 38.9 FDPs in his last four games against them. The Warriors are also giving up 6.6% more FPs to SGs than the league average. Combine all this with the fact that the Clippers will need Lou’s scoring tonight to make this game competitive and you have a very good all-format play here on both sites.

SF – Nikola Mirotic (6200/5900): Mirotic exploded last time out, and you can expect his ownership tonight to explode as well. His matchup is not a good one, but then again, we are talking about Mirotic here, with an excellent floor and a high ceiling. He’ll get close to 30 minutes here and at his price, makes for an excellent all-format play on both sites.

PF – Bam Adebayo (5100/4700): Adebayo has put up 30+ FDPs in 4 of his last 6 games. In this time, he is averaging around 26 MPG. Today he gets the fantastic matchup against the Detroit Pistons who just aren’t stopping anyone right now. Look for Adebayo to get 25-28 minutes here tonight and exceed value in a plus matchup. He’s a solid play in all formats given his price.

GPP PLAYS

PG- Tyler Johnson (3900/3900): We like attacking the Pistons with guards. Tyler Johnson has been on a cold spell recently, but we are well aware of what he is capable of. He is getting good minutes off the bench here, and should Josh Richardson miss this game, will play close to 30 minutes tonight. At 3.9k and with his upside, that’s something I want to attack in my GPP lineups.

SG – Dwayne Wade (5000/4800): Another guard against the Pistons. Wade has been quiet over his last 5 games, not registering a single 30-point game in that span. He can only be quiet for so long before he explodes for one of his ceiling games. In a plus matchup against the Pistons, I have no problem taking a shot at Wade here in GPPs. He has GPP winning potential in this spot on both sites.

SF – Derrick Jones Jr. (4100/4200): When given minutes this season, DJJ has excelled. In his last 4 games seeing over 25 minutes, DJJ has gone for 30.75, 31.75, 23.75, and 28.75 DKPs. He just might see upwards of 30 minutes tonight if Josh Richardson can’t play. In this situation, I’ll want all the DJJ I can get in my GPP lineups on both sites. He also makes for a nice drop-score candidate on FD.

PF – Montrezl Harrell (8000/7200): Harrell is a GPP only play because of his price. He is averaging 39.7 DKPs in 28.6 MPG over his last 5 games. He clearly has the upside to pay off his price in this matchup, and he is getting the minutes to do damage here. On DK, he can be utilized in hybrid lineups, but at 8k on FD, he is a strictly GPP play.
