DFS NBA Lineup Strategies – Blande’s 6th Man – Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Jan 17th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande. I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army.

It’s a nice 5-game main slate on our hands tonight. Unfortunately (or fortunately) injuries have marred the slate, throwing a lot of things into doubt here. Make sure you are watching the news channel and focusing on navigating through the injury landmines. That said, there are some nice 6th men out there tonight, so let’s take a look at them.

Shoutout to Lins14 for this amazing takedown!

CORE PLAYS

SG – Bogdan Bogdanovic (6200/5500): Bogdan is a core play on today’s slate. He gets a good matchup against the Hornets here. When they last met, Bogdan, put up 28.2 FDPs in 29 minutes, scoring 22 real points. Bogdan has the upside and his floor is relatively high, making him playable in all formats here. He is too cheap on DK for his production.

SG – Dennis Schroder (6100/5700): Schroder has put up 24.9 DKPs in 26.4 MPG over his last 5 games. What is really interesting is that over his last two games he has scored 37.25 and 36.25 DKPs. He is hot right now making him an interesting DFS play. He is a little expensive but given the options tonight he at least provides a nice floor here. I prefer Bogdanovic to him though.

SG – Delon Wright (4500/4600): Leonard, Miles, and Anunoby out, and Lowry questionable, Wright will get to run the second unit today. This will result in a usage bump for him. He is capable of turning this into very good production. At his price and given the matchup against the Suns, he makes for an excellent play here in all formats on both sites.

SF – Kelly Oubre Jr. (5600/5200): Oubre went on a tear with Booker out. In the last game when Booker returned, Oubre still got 24 minutes in what was a blowout. With Jamal Crawford out, there are a little bit more minutes to go around, and Oubre is first in line to pick those up. We all know what Oubre can do when given minutes. He is more of a hybrid/GPP play here given his inconsistencies.

GPP PLAYS

SG – Monte Morris (3700/3600): Barton missed shootaround for personal reasons and Harris is questionable. If both of them end up sitting this one out, it will open up minutes for Morris. He’ll run the second unit here, making him a very nice play. Most people will flock to Beasley, allowing you to get Morris for cheaper and lower ownership. He’s an excellent GPP punt play and a drop-score candidate on FD.

SF – Jabari Parker (4900/3600): Parker is finally getting run with the Bulls once more. In his last 2 games, he is averaging 26.5 DKPs in 17.5 MPG. He’ll get run today with the Bulls, and he is really underpriced on DK at just 3.6k. I won’t be touching him on FD at that price, but on DK< I have no problem using him in GPPs, especially if both Harris and Barton are out.

PF – Jonah Bolden (3800/3300): If both Wilson Chandler and Joel Embiid are out, Bolden is going to get some good run here for the 76ers, as they’ll need big bodies to matchup the Pacers. The extra minutes makes Bolden a nice drop-score candidate on FD. On DK, at just 3.3K I can see using him as a punt play if MMEing.

C – Greg Monroe (3700/3500): Toronto just does not have many bodies to put out there tonight. Monroe will be called on to play close to 20 minutes here. Monroe is a ppm machine, and should he see does minutes, he’ll be in for a great day against a Suns team that just doesn’t defend. He’s a nice drop-score candidate on FD, and a good GPP punt play on DK at that price.

Those are your Sixth men for today. Good luck out there today Army!
