DFS NBA Lineup Strategies – Blande’s 6th Man – Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Jan 15th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army. If you are not yet a member, we have something special for you right now. Use the link here and promo code “BLANDE” to get 20% off your subscription.

We have a nice 6-game slate on our hands here, packed with a lot of studs. In order to fit them into our lineups, we need value plays with good upside. These plays are usually found on the bench, hence the need for the 6th Men. Today, there’s not much value in starting lineups so far, but the opposite is true for the bench, so let’s dive in!

Shoutout to Lins14 for this amazing takedown last night!

CORE PLAYS

SG – Malik Beasley (4700/4800): Malik Beasley is averaging 32 MPG over his last 6 games. With Gary Harris questionable and Barton still on a minute restriction, Beasley is in line to get around 30 minutes again today. You can’t look past this kind of minutes. The Warriors also give up 1.4% more FPs to SGs than the league average, so the matchup is an ok one for him. I like him more on FD, but he is playable on both sites.

SF – Tyreke Evans (4000/3800): Tyreke Evans comes into play today due to Darren Collison and Cory Joseph being questionable. Evans is only in play if they are out. I shouldn’t have to tell you how much of a disappointment Evans has been this season. However, if both Collison and Joseph miss this game, Evans will see upwards of 30 minutes against a defensively challenged Suns team. Sign me up, please!

PF – Bam Adebayo (5400/5200): Adebayo is on a nice streak here, averaging 29.4 DKPs in 26.5 MPG over his last 5 games. He has scored over 30 DKPs in 4 of his last 5 games. Today he gets the great matchup against the Bucks. This matchup is much suited for Adebayo than it is for Whiteside, and the Heat have not been shy about benching Whiteside. With Lopez stretching Whiteside, the Heat could turn to Adebayo for defensive help there. I love the spot for him.

PF – Dario Saric (3900/4600): With everyone focused on Jimmy Butler tonight, it might escape people’s notice that Saric was on the other end of that trade. Even if that doesn’t happen, the poor play of Saric recently should keep his ownership low. A low-owned Saric, against the team that unceremoniously dumped him, is something I want in my lineups. Especially on FD where he is an excellent drop-score candidate. What more can you ask for? Just lock him in there. On DK, you can use him as a GPP Only play.

GPP PLAYS

SG – Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (4300/4500): Luke Walton is on the hot seat and needs to do something drastic to get the Lakers back on track. There’s talk about lineup changes and what not. KCP is one of the guys Walton could find himself having to lean on here. He also happens to be relatively cheap with a high upside here. He makes for a good drop-score candidate on FD. I have little interest in him on DK, unless we get word about some lineup changes.

SF – Derrick Jones Jr. (4600/4300): Derrick Jones Jr. has been fantastic when given minutes by the Heat. He has scored over 25 FDPs in 5 of his last 6 games, with 2 of those hitting 30. With Josh Richardson a little hobbled here, the Heat could turn to DJJ to shore up the SF and PF spots tonight. The matchup is a good one for him and he could be in the GPP winning lineup tonight.

SF – Michael Beasley (4000/3900): With Walton looking for a spark for his team, he could turn to Michael Beasley for some help here. Beasley is a natural born scorer. He has put up 30+ FPs in 2 of his last 3 games, all in less than 20 minutes of court time. In those outings, he has scored 1 raw point per minute on the court. Should Walton give Beasley some run here, watch out!

C – Mason Plumlee (4700/4400): With Trey Lyles questionable, Plumlee will once more be used as the backup PF and C for the Nuggets tonight. He is a GPP only play here because the Nuggets could easily opt to go small when Jokic is off the court, thus sidelining Plumlee. His minutes are clearly not guaranteed here, but should he get run, he has shown he has GPP upside. This is an MME only play.
