Welcome to the DFS Army NBA 1st look article. In this article I’ll try to give you a quick glance at the NBA slate each morning. I’ll go over some of the Vegas info and some of the Injury situations we’re monitoring throughout the league.

💥 Who’s Out? Who’s Questionable? What it means…
NOP Nikola Mirotic OUT – E’Twaun Moore – Q
On Monday Mirotic only played 7 minutes before leaving the game with an ankle injury. Julius Randle has recently taken over the starting Power Forward spot for Mirotic and has been playing great averaging 24 points and 11 rebounds per game. Whenever Mirotic is out Randle is one of my favorite players to target on this Pelicans team. Jrue Holiday has played 4 games this Season without Mirotic and he has averaged just over 50 fantasy points in those games. Anthony Davis, Julius Randle and Jrue Holiday all get bumps with Mirotic out.
WAS Otto Porter – Q
Kelly Oubre and Bradley Beal will get small boosts if Porter is out. Oubre sees a +2% usage and +3.51 fp/36min and Beal sees a 2.4% usage increase.
MIA Hassan Whiteside OUT
This will be the 4th game in a row that Whiteside has missed so it will again open up opportunities for Bam Adebayo. He’s no longer the lock and load value option he was earlier as he priced at $6,500 on Fanduel and $6,100 on Draftkings. In his last 3 games he has scored 39.5, 35.6 and 43 fantasy points. Kelly Olynyk gets a boost as well when Whiteside is out and he may find himself in the starting lineup again.
DAL Dennis Smith Jr OUT
This will be Smith’s 4th game in a row he has missed. Jalen Brunson has started the previous 3 games and has played 29 minutes per game and averaged right around 28 fantasy point per game. He is priced at $4,500 on Fanduel but his real value is on Draftkings where he is only priced at $3,800. With Smith out DeAndre Jordan has a +2.9% usage and +4.08 fp/36 min. Harrison Barnes has a+2.7% usage increase and +3.15 fp/36 min. JJ Barea leads the team with a 29.4% usage rate and averages 1.18 fantasy points per minute.
MEM Mike Conley – Q
If Conley misses tonght’s game Shelvin Mack would likely start at point guard for the Grizzlies. He’s not a huge fantasy point scored but if he plays close to 30 minutes he could be one of the better value plays on the slate. With Conley off the floor JaMychal Green has a +4.8% usage rate. Garret Temple has a +3.3% usage and +9.53 fp/36 min.

ATL Jeremy Lin, Omari Spellman, Taurean Prince OUT
Kent Bazemore gets a solid increase fo 3.1% usage and +12.06 fp/36 with these 3 off the floor. Vince Carter has the highest usage increase of +6.6% and +12.80 fp/36 min. John Collins has been on fire scoring 53.9, 40.8 and 41.2 fantasy points in his last 3 games. He gets a +3.1% usage and +6.99 fp/36 min with Lin, Spellman and Prince off the floor.
IND Victor Oladipo – Q
Coach Nate McMillan has said Oladipo will be on a minutes restriction when he returns. The matchup is not ideal vs the Bucks who are tough defensively so I wont have much interest in Oladipo even if he plays tonight. This also hurts the value of guys like Darren Collison, Cory Joseph and Tyreke Evans. However, it may actually help Tyreke Evans as he has averaged more fantasy points off the bench than he has while in the starting lineup this season.
PHI Jimmy Butler – Doubtful
With Butler off the floor for the Sixers Joel Embid has averaged around 1.5 fantasy points per minute and Ben Simmons has averaged around 1.4 fantasy points per minute. Embid has a 38% usage with Butler off the floor so he and Simmons would be great pay up options on tonight’s slate without Butler. Furkan Korkmaz played 26 minutes on Monday after Jimmy Butler left the game and he scored 30.9 fantasy points. He could be solid source of value in tournaments tonight.
BOS Gordon Hayward Doubtful, Al Horfod and Aaron Baynes – Q
With Horford and Baynes out the last 2 games Daniel Theis has gotten the start at Center. He exploded on Saturday for 54.5 DK Points but was held to just 14.25 DK points on Monday. Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown will be solid options if Horford and Baynes are out and they have both averaged 35 DK points the last 2 games without them.
CLE Tristan Thompson OUT
He’s been having a monster season so far but he’ll be on the shelf for a few weeks as he deals with a sprianed foot. Larry Nance and Ante Zizic will fill in at the Center spot for the Cavaliers while Thompson is out.
