DabbingPuggle’s NFL DFS “Draw Plays” for Fanduel or Draftkings Week 17

Welcome everyone, to this weeks edition of Draw Plays!! I’m your host DabbingPuggle, bringing you this weeks insights on the best WR/CB match-ups for your GPP’s. A quick note before we dive in. I like to have fun and make money; I plan on doing both things every Sunday for the next few months. If you like fun, jump in my room #puggle-nfl on Sunday morning 10-1. If you like making money, be sure to read all the articles our NFL staff has for you each week. If you don’t like either, take a hike. Get it? Hut Hut Hike… let’s do this Army!!

Tier 1 Draw Plays

 Tyreek Hill Vs. Daryl Worley

The Chiefs have a few different ways to lock up the number one seed in the AFC on Sunday. Unfortunately for them, all the ones that don’t involve them having to compete in their final game would hinge on the Chargers who also play a late afternoon game, so they have no choice but to go out there with their starters. Look for them to take a bunch of shots deep with Hill this week in a big mismatch against Worley. They are going to want to put up points quickly and hopefully be able to give their guys some rest as the game winds down.

Keenan Allen Vs. Justin Simmons

The Chargers need a win here and a KC loss to clinch the #1 seed. In every other scenario, they would wind up as the 5 seed. Conceivably, they could be a 12-4 fifth seed, that’s wild. Despite them needing some help from the Chiefs, they need to take care of business first. Prior to last weeks tough match-up with Baltimore, Allen was on an absolute tear. This week he get’s a plus spot against Simmons who made the transition from safety to nickel earlier this year. While he has been surprisingly effective, he has not had to match-up against a receiver of this caliber in the slot yet.

Golden Tate Vs. Greg Stroman

I’m playing to a few narratives with this one. The first one being, the Eagles absolutely need a win in addition to the Bears knocking off the Vikings in order to earn the final wild card spot in the NFC. This is an all hands on deck situation for the Eagles this week. The second one is that this game for Tate is an audition for next season as he would be unlikely to resign in Philadelphia. I have missed on him a few times since he was traded, in a game of cat and mouse, but he is still likely to be a popular 3rd down target for Nick Foles as Zach Ertz will likely draw a lot of attention from Ha-Ha Clinton Dix. Stroman is a weaker interior defender and subject to giving up space on targets. Tate will only be a GPP target for me in week 17.

Bills WR’s Vs. Miami Secondary

I don’t want to pinpoint just one receiver here because on paper they all have good match-ups. Neither team has much to play for aside from jostling for position on draft-day. I do think it is more likely we see Josh Allen air it out a little bit more this week and that leaves Isaiah McKenzie, Zay Jones, and Robert Foster all available as cheaper options to fit your lineups this week. Miami and their banged up secondary have given up the third most points to opposing wide receivers in the last 3 weeks.

Tier 2 Draw Plays

Julian Edelman Vs. Buster Skrine

Did you really think I wouldn’t be attacking Buster Skrine one more time this year? Of course not, and certainly not in this spot. Brady has show a lot of signs of regression this season, but he performs when the pressure is on (insert GOAT emoji here). The situation for the Patriots this week is pretty simple, a win locks up the number 2 seed and a first round bye. Their offense line is struggling which has cause headaches for those of us who rostered Gronk down the stretch. However, it has lead to a ton of targets for Edelman. He should continue to be the most targeted option in this offense against one of the worst defenders in the league.

JuJu Smith Schuster Vs. Darius Phillips

I’m such a big JuJu guy. Seriously, I can’t help myself from playing him over and over again. Maybe there is some bias, that is the main enemy of DFS players…. don’t have bias. Let’s just call it coincidence that he keeps popping up week after week and he’s here again against Darius Phillips who has been awful for an awful Bengals team. Yep, awful is just the only way to describe that situation in Cincinnati. After last weeks blunder he needs to bounce back in a big way with Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes dwindling. They need a win and either a Ravens loss or a Colts-Titans tie to earn a spot in the postseason. JuJu should see a ton of volume in this game and hopefully redeem himself from last weekends costly fumble.

T.Y. Hilton Vs. Adoree’ Jackson

This is a playoff game. Win and you’re in; lose and it’s back to the gym to get ready for next year. While outcomes of some other games will determine seeding, this one should be fun. The Titans run defense has been outstanding overall this year, so look for Luck to put it in the air often, and who better to target than their number one. While Jackson has been very good this year, he’s far from Superman. Usually a shadow corner, he is going to have a difficult time doing that against Hilton who lines up everywhere which I noted last week. His upside is phenomenal and I most definitely want a bunch of exposure to him in the game that matters most in week 17.

Value Town

I am quantifying value on each site by price where on FanDuel I am looking for players priced below 6K and DraftKings priced below 5k. These are the guys in GPP’s that are those targeted punts that we need to beat large fields and walk away with the trophy.

Think about this for a moment, you look at the teams at the top and say to yourself, “How in the world did this guy think rostering player X was a good idea?” Well, these are the guys who allow you to get all the heavy hitters in the same lineup. You want a swag bag, you want the big bucks, these are the guys in week 17 I think could help you get there.

FanDuel                                                    DraftKings

1. Chris Conley 4.7K                                                                  1 . Josh Reynolds 4.6K

2. Marques Valdez-Scantling 5K                                            2.  Chris Godwin 4.3K

3. Calvin Ridley 5.9K                                                                3.  Nelson Agholor 3.8K

4. Marcell Ateman 4.6K                                                           4.  Ted Ginn Jr. 3.6K
