CFB Playoff Saturday DK Preview!!!

The big week is here of the CFB playoffs and DraftKings has a great little slate to go with it.  DK included 4 of the 5 bowl games on the main slate excluding the Arizona Bowl between 2 group of 5 teams.  The highlight of this slate is obviously Oklahoma – Alabama which features the top 2 offenses in the country.  That is the game I want to target the most and to get many pieces from it.  I will be avoiding the Florida – Michigan game for the most part as it features 2 top 25 defenses and should play to a lower scoring game.

A few players worth mentioning will be sitting out of the games.  Michigan RB Karan Higdon will be sitting out to protect his NFL interests.  This should open up a good opportunity for RB Chris Evans to see some good playing time.  South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel is also sitting out which should open up targets for the Gamecock receivers.

One place I really want to exploit this slate is the running backs for both Oklahoma and Alabama.  Kyler Murray will require a lot of attention which should open up some running lanes for Trey Sermon and Kennedy Brooks.  Alabama has a committee which makes it very hard to pick the right back, but they are very cheap against the 53rd ranked rushing defense.  I wouldn’t go all in on Bama RBs but I love them as value plays.

Game Spreads and ITTs:

A few players to target:

Tru Wilson RB Michigan – In the game that Higdon missed earlier this year, Wilson got 11 carries and ended up with over 13 DK points.  On a smaller slate it will be tough to find value that has upside and Wilson is one of the rarities.  I look for him to get double-digit touches and have an opportunity to visit the end zone.

Rico Dowdle RB South Carolina – Dowdle has been hurt most of the last half of the season and just started to get an uptick in production right at the end of the year.  Virginia shuts down the passing game so South Carolina will have to run the ball.  Dowdle has 20 point upside at a sub $5k price and should go under-owned with the other big games this week.

Devonta Smith WR Alabama – Smith was injured early in the year and has been passed up in production by both Ruggs and Waddle, but Smith has come back the last 2 games strong with 9 total targets.  Smith is a big play threat and will go under-owned with 3 receivers in front of him but will be a very boom or bust type of play.  I love the idea of pairing Smith with Ruggs or Waddle and fading Jeudy for salary relief.
