Bowl Season Mid Saturday DK Preview!!!

This week we have another decent Saturday slate of bowl games coming up.  DraftKings has given us some decent contests that we can attack.  Again, bowl season is different than the regular season as different teams have different motivations.  Also, certain players will sit out to prepare for the draft and avoid injury.

This slate is the 2nd biggest of bowl season so far and is the last slate before Christmas.  Some key players that will not play in these games include WR Greg Dortch and RB Darrell Henderson.  This is also a slate with some very interesting running games and some rather dull passing attacks.  I am going to focus on RBs this slate with some very bad rush defenses as well.  I will be GPP only again this slate as with all bowl slates due to the variance of the games.

Game Spreads and ITTs:

Game to Target:

The Birmingham Bowl should be a shootout between Wake Forest and Memphis.  Both teams are missing their main offensive weapon and that should bode well for some value.  With Henderson and Dortch out, this will open value on both teams.  The RB position is deep for Memphis with Taylor and Pollard and the WR position has some value with Wake Forest with Surratt and Bachman getting targets the past few weeks. Jamie Newman has also been good under center for the Deamon Deacons and he is my favorite QB on the slate.

A few players to target:

Tony Pollard WR Memphis – Pollard is a scat back that has caught the ball out of the backfield all year yet this week they choose to list him at WR.  Wake Forest has a tough time against running backs and Memphis is without their lead back.  I love the idea of loading up with running backs that could go under-owned due to the mispositioning by DK.

Kelvin Hopkins QB Army – Kelvin Hopkins leads triple-option Army into a game against a bottom rushing defense.  In a game where Houston is missing some key defenders in the front 7, Army should be able to run all day.  I also like pairing Hopkins with RB Darnell Woolfolk as this should lock in most of the touchdowns that will be scored for Army at a reasonable price.

Israel Tucker RB Louisiana Tech – Tucker is not a player that has gotten a ton of rushes as Louisiana Tech has a committee, but Hawaii is a bottom 20 in rush defense and yards per carry.  Tucker could go very under-owned on a slate with more well-known running backs and he could get some great value at only $4k.
