Week 12 Thursday Night CFB Preview!!!

Tonight we get a great little 3 game slate to really kick off week 12.  Each of these games has some great players that we can target and there is some great value on this slate.  We also really need to keep an eye on injuries at some key positions.  Thank you to Beat the Bookie for providing us with the spreads this week.  Be sure to visit Beat the Bookie and see what sports betting picks they have for these games and more!

Toledo (-12) @ Kent State  Total 59

Toledo

Toledo travels to take on a Kent State team that is bottom 20 in total defense.  The past 2 games, they have moved to backup QB Eli Peters due to injury and he has been very adequate with around 17-20 fantasy points a game.  I really like his value today, especially on DraftKings.  Dionte Johnson and Cody Thompson are the main 2 receivers for Peters.  Both have a double-digit floor and a high upside and are viable in all formats.  Jon’Vea Johnson has also had a good amount of targets with Peters under center and is a viable GPP punt.  Sharif Seymour is the lead back for Toledo but he has been banged up which has opened up carries for both Bryant Koback and Art Thompkins.  It will be worth monitoring if Seymour will be a full go against a Kent State team giving up over 25 fantasy points to RBs a game.

Kent State

Kent State should plenty of opportunities as well going up against a Toledo defense that ranks bottom 5 against the run.  Woody Barrett starts the offense and uses his arm and his legs about equally.   He had an awful game last week against Buffalo and his price reflects it.  I really like this game as a bounce-back spot for him.  Kent State’s top 3 receivers are Isiah McKoy, Mike Carrigan, and Antwan Dixon.  All 3 of these wideouts average over 10 fantasy points a game yet are under $4k on DraftKings which I love!  Kent State is another team that has had a banged-up running back in Justin RankenJo-el Shaw has taken the most reps the past few weeks but it will be worth watching if Ranken steps back up into the starting role.

NCAA basketball is back!  Our members are already off to a great start taking down GPPs!

Tulane @ Houston (-8)  Total 68

Tulane

Tulane comes into this game with lots of questionable players that we need to keep an eye on.  QB Jonathan Banks has been hurt the past 2 weeks and Justin McMillan has been starting.  McMillan had the best fantasy games of the season for Tulane 2 out of the last 3 games so if he starts he might be a GPP play for me.  Banks has not had a great fantasy year and I will not be using him.  If you go with McMillan, Darnell Mooney and Tarren Encalade are the 2 WRs you would think to stack with him.  Both of these receivers had big games last week but outside of that have had lackluster years.  In the backfield, Corey Dauphine and Darius Bradwell have shared the rushing duties and both have been very efficient.  This is where I think I will have pieces of Tulane this week as they try to slow down the UH offense.

Houston

When Houston is on the slate, play D’Eriq King, it’s that simple.  The quarterback averages over 40 DK points a game and can’t be priced high enough.  He has 3 games over 50 DK point this year including a 67 point performance.  Play D’Eriq King and move on.  I really like stacking King with Marquez Stevenson who also has a knack for big performance games.  Keith Corbin also has stepped up with Courtney Lark out and could be a great pivot off of Stevenson.  Patrick Carr has been getting great opportunity to run the ball as of late, but with King also running and having such great success I like to avoid Carr in fantasy.

We also have several tickets already punched to the World Fantasy College Football championships!

Florida Atlantic @ North Texas (-4)  Total 64

Florida Atlantic

This team loves to feed Devin Singleterry at running back and will continue to do so tonight.  Singleterry has over 25 fantasy points 7 out of the past 8 games and is a model of consistency.  Chris Robison and De’Andre Johnson split reps at quarterback last week and could again this week.  There are enough choices on this slate that we don’t need to try to guess what happens with that situation.  WR Jovon Durante does have value regardless of who is under center, with double-digit fantasy points in 4 out of the last 4 games.  Besides him, it is hard to trust any of these FAU receivers.

North Texas

North Texas is a very balanced team that can have a high powered offense.  Mason Fine is averaging over 300 yards passing a game.  That being said, I would much rather pay up for D’Eriq King who has both a higher floor and ceiling for a very modest price upgrade.  Rico Bussey Jr. is the lead receiver for the Mean Green and has over 25 DK points in each of the last 3 games.  He is a great way to get exposure to Fine.  Jalen Guyton is a great pivot off of Bussey at a much more affordable price.  In the backfield, Deandre Torrey has at least 2 touchdowns in 3 of the last 3 games and is in line for another day of good opportunity.
