QB

It definitely  feels like a 2 QB night with a 4 solid QBs to choose from. MTSU QB Brent Stockstill (8000 DK/ 8600 FD) and Virginia QB Blake Perkins (7600 DK/10100 FD) feel like the perfect cash pair. Stockstill provides a decent floor and he is running the offense with the highest ITT, while Perkins has been a machine of late, leading Virginia in to the CFP Top 25 and to the top of the ACC Coastal standings.

“I think he’s probably the best running quarterback, the fastest quarterback we’ve faced this year,”“And we’ve faced some unbelievable quarterbacks.” Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi on Perkins.

Last year,  Arizona QB Khalil Tate (8900 DK/9100 FD) came off of the bench to rush for 327 yards and 4 TDs versus Colorado and the two teams match up again tonight.  To be clear, Tate is not the same player he was a year ago, but anyone who has ever dealt with a fairly severe sprain would tell you that Tate’s week of rest versus UCLA.

“It looks like his ankle is a little bit healthier than it was earlier in the season. We definitely remember him running wild against us (last year). When I watched the tape of No. 14, I definitely had nightmares.” – CU Coach Mike MacIntyre on Khalil Tate’s health/status.

I will be pairing Tate with his counterpart Colorado’s QB Steven Montez (9400 DK/9900 FD). Montez is probably 4th on my list because the status of star WR Laviska Shenault is still in question for tonight’s game.  Shenault is by far the best CU weapon, so if Shenault plays, that is a big upgrade to their offense.

I will also roll out Pitt QB Kenny Pickett (5600 DK/7700 FD) in case their passing game blows up, being forced to pass, avoiding UVA’s excellent rush defense.

RB

The top play for me is Virginia RB/WR Olamide Zaccheaus (7000 DK/9700 FD), who is listed as a RB on DK, but leads UVA with 56 catches, 690 yards, and 6 TDs.  He is okay for FD, but I feel like a near must on DK, being a PPR threat.

He’ll be the No. 1 receiver, the No. 2 receiver, he’ll be on the front side, the back side, he’ll be in the backfield, he’ll motion out of the backfield. He is everywhere. They list him as a receiver, but he might as well be a running back. … Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi on Zaccheaus’ versatility.

Arizona RB  JJ Taylor (8600 DK/9800 FD) is the most expensive RB on both sites tonight and he has crushed it in his last two games, rushing for 154 at UCLA, then 212 last week vs. Oregon. Consequently, he has been priced up. I feel like if you can fit him in, great.  But there are enough reliable backs where he isn’t must play.

Colorado RB Travon McMillan (6600 DK/9000 FD) is a workhorse and a great play for cash games. For a few weeks, I thought CU might carve out a vulture role for backup Kyle Evans, but that has not been the case.

MTSU RB Terrelle West (6300 DK/7300 FD) will draw the start at RB for the Blue Raiders and could provide some salary relief in FD GPPs. A caveat that MTSU is an RBBC team and no RB has receive more than 20 carries on the year

Fades: Virginia has been very stout against the run so I will be fading Pitt’s Qadree Ollison and his backfield mate Darrin Hall. Also, don’t play V’Lique Carter who is doubtful (FD only).

WR

Will we get news on Laviska Shenault (8700 DK/10200 FD) before lock? He has missed the past two weeks with a turf toe injury and is now day-to-day. MacIntyre used the word “hopefully” when talking about Shenault. That is not a word I like to here when it comes to spending top dollar. I will definitely have a few GPP shares either way. But I am not putting “hopefully” in my cash lineups.

I wrote up Olamide Zaccheaus (9700 FD)  in the RB spot for DK, but he is still viable on FD as a WR option.

Arizona WR Shun Brown (5500 DK/8700 FD) has caught 46 of a team-leading 63 targets and I feel confident that it Tate isn’t at full speed, he will have to throw, so I really like Brown in cash.  Arizona WR Shawn Poindexter (6100 DK/9100 FD) has been more boom-or-bust, but I think he is viable as a double stack or in GPPs.

Like Arizona, MTSU  has their in cash/GPP pair with consistent Ty Lee (6000 DK/8900 FD) who has at least 4 receptions in all but 1 game, and Patrick Smith (5400 DK/7700 FD), who leads MTSU with 5 TD receptions.

Pitt WR Aaron Mathews (3000 DK/4600 FD) has caught my eye as a value play, with value getting harder to come by, as we enter later in. He is Pitt’s biggest receiver and has worked his way into a starting spot. With Virginia’s stout rush defense, the Pitt offense may have to take to the air more than in past weeks. Pitt WR Maurice Ffrench (4800 DK/ 8500 FD) is a boom-bust option.

I may also roll the dice with Colorado WR Juwann Winfree (4000 DK/6800 FD) as a punt, especially if we get any sort of indication that Shenault will remain out.

Good Luck and Happy Friday!
