Sniper’s Slide Tackle – EPL Player Picks for December 1

It’s another Manchester City week as they are a massive favorite on a slate with not many other interesting options. That has also led to usually cheaper players being considerably more expensive than normal. So how do we attack this slate? Let’s dig in. The Slide Tackle is for VIPs only and includes four players I’m targeting heading into that crucial period before lineups are released. Make sure you’re around in VIP Chat when that happens (about an hour before kick-off) as that’s when there is the biggest edge and when TreyJ will drop our full list of plays.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
DraftKings: $11.2k F | FanDuel: $7.5k M

I promise this is the only Manchester City name I’ll list in this article. I did want to point out Aguero because he’s my favorite target on the entire slate. Bournemouth especially struggles with forwards and Aguero is clearly one of the best in the world. He’s actually not that much more expensive than the other City options and I would order the rest as follows but they are all clearly in play: Sterling, Silva, Mahrez, Sane, Gundogan.

Jose Holebas (Watford)
DraftKings: $6.5k D | FanDuel: 5.5k D

I am assuming that Holebas is going to return from injury and make a start on Saturday. As long as he does then Holebas becomes my clear favorite pay up option at defender. When Holebas plays he is the focal point of the Watford offense, whipping in cross after cross.  He has a great floor and could be underowned in GPPs as people pay up for those City forwards. If Holebas doesn’t start then I will actually have very little to no exposure to Watford.

Salomon Rondon (Newcastle)

DraftKings: $6.0 F | FanDuel: $13.5k F

GPP special target as Newcastle is favored at home against West Ham and Rondon scored a brace a few weeks ago against Bournemouth. He did struggle on the road against Burnley but now he’s cheaper and in a good match-up. He should be really low owned and in a decent spot at a good price point…don’t go near him in cash…but fire up your Rondon shares in GPPs. If you’re looking for a good stack partner you could with Yedlin on defense or even Matt Ritchie at midfield.

Nathan Redmond (Crystal Palace)

DraftKings: $4.9k M/F | FanDuel: $6.5k M

I tried to put the barf emoji in the text…didn’t work. BUT, I will say that as far as pay-down forward eligible options go, Nathan Redmond may be my favorite on the slate. Manchester United just isn’t that good, and struggled in the Champions League earlier this week, squeaking out a 1-0 win at home vs. Young Boys. Redmond and Southampton are the home team in the hammer match, he’s also a pretty consistent fantasy scorer but hasn’t had a ceiling game yet. He’s just as likely as anyone to win the set-piece lottery in Southampton, making him a viable, but dangerous option in all formats. Dangerous because you will have few options should he for some reason not draw the start in the late much of the day.

That’s it for today, remember to be in VIP Chat Saturday morning as myself and Trey will be providing updates and our player pools when lineups are released!
