DFS NBA Lineup Strategies – Blande’s 6th Man – Draftkings and Fanduel Advice Nov 19th

Hi there! I’m Glen but I go by Blande and you can find me on twitter as @DfsBlande . I’m a contributor and coach over here at the DFS Army. A nine-game slate tonight and a lot to cover. This slate is loaded with great plays and plenty of studs, making it very important to find the right value plays to go along with the studs. Some injury news has opened up value in starting lineups, but the 6th Men today carry some interesting value. Let’s see what we have got.

Congrats to DFS Army Member Cookoo for his $100K takedown yesterday!

CORE PLAYS

Montrezl Harrell (7800/6600): Harrell is expensive, especially on FD. That said, there is no denying the spot he is in. Playing against the worst defense in the league, excellent aDvP, and a matchup designed to allow him more playing time. His ceiling is high, and he has the potential of exceeding value here. He also has a relatively high floor as well. He’s an all-format play.

Julius Randle (7300/6800): Don’t look now, but Randle is quietly taking care of business off the bench this season. He is a little expensive on both sites, but we all know he can make and exceed value. His floor is also relatively stable. The matchup is also a good one based on aDvP. He’ll be a low-owned play tonight and a nice pivot in the mid-range tier.

Shelvin Mack (5100/4200): Mack is having a career season with the Grizzlies. Today he faces a Mavericks team that is severely shorthanded. It really doesn’t get much better than this opportunity-wise off the bench. Mack also happens to be blowout proof here, so you can be sure he’ll get his minutes here. I love him in all formats.

GPP PLAYS

Mikal Bridges (4200/4000): We all know the narrative story behind this. Homecoming for Bridges, against the hometown team that drafted him and then immediately traded him. It all makes for a good story and great expectations for him tonight. I’m just not buying it. Ariza is back and Bridges will be hard pressed to see 30 minutes tonight. That said, he’ll be a chalky play, and if he manages to get hot, he makes for a good value play. GPP/Hybrid play.

Maxi Kleber (3600/3200): Dwight Powell is out, along with JJ Barea and possibly Wes Matthews. Kleber gets a bump in minutes from this turn of events. He’ll be needed to help deal with the big bodies the Grizzlies have in their frontcourt. Kleber is dirt cheap on both sites, and it doesn’t take a lot for him to hit value. In general, his upside is limited, but he is worth a shot in MME and even in some Hybrid lineups on FD with the drop score format.

Cory Joseph (4100/3900): With Oladipo out, and Tyreke Evans sliding in to take the spot, Cory Joseph will get all the minutes he can handle in the backup guard role today. The matchup at guard for Joseph is not a bad one, and given his price, he should easily hit value today. While Evans will draw much of the attention here, Joseph makes for an excellent GPP/Hybrid value play tonight.

Monte Morris (4800/4100): The last time Monte Morris was on this list, the Nuggets gave him the starting nod and he immediately laid a dud. Now Morris is back to the bench where we like him. He’s much better running around with the second unit. Morris is averaging 30 MPG in his last four. In his last meeting against the Bucks, he put up 26.6 FDPs. While his upside is not massive, the DFS Army RS has him with a projected DK ceiling of 38 FPs. In a game which will be high scoring, Morris will get enough run to attempt reaching his ceiling.

Honorable Mentions:

David Nwaba, Dewayne Dedmon, and Marco Belinelli.
