DFS College Basketball Winning Lineup Advice For Day Slate on Draftkings and Fanduel 11/25/2018

Good morning to you beautiful people out there in DFS land!  You have managed to find yourself in a great spot here at DFS Army.  I look forward to providing you with analysis and picks throughout this 2018-2019 CBB season!  Remember, if I mention a player and do not point out which site it means that my preference is the site where he is cheaper.  Let’s take a look at what games are on the slates for DraftKings and Fanduel today.  The KenPom score projections are in parenthesis.

Canisius (73) vs UAB (74) — DK only

Villanova (72) vs Florida St (73)

Northwestern (70) vs Utah (68)

Oklahoma St (72) vs LSU (75)

Memphis (69) vs College of Charleston (70) — DK only

CANISIUS vs UAB — DK only

Normally this game would be off my radar as both of these teams just aren’t all that good, however, this game is tied for the highest KenPom projected total on the slate.  Canisius is very much a two-man team as Molson and Reese combine to take 64.5% of the shots when they are on the floor.  I just don’t feel very strongly about them at their price points.  I would say Molson is in play based on volume, however, when it comes to Canisius I will consider smaller usage players who could boom for GPP purposes.  Those players that stand out to me are Johnson, St Louis, and Johnson-Alls.

There are two distinct strengths for UAB in this game as they are very solid on the offensive glass, while Canisius can be beaten up on that end and Canisius is horrible at defending the 2 point shot, which happens to be where UAB is better.  UAB has been extremely bad to begin the season at shooting the three ball.  The problem with UAB is that they have 6 guys who take 21%+ of the shots while they are on the floor, which means they are very balanced.  Much like with Canisius, I think I am going to skip the expensive guys like Bryant and Sullivan in favor of Butler, Gueye, and Bell.  Gueye is my GPP play as he crashes the offensive boards extremely well, sitting at a rate of 15.9% which is in the top 45 in the country.

VILLANOVA vs FLORIDA ST

This game is going to be a blast to watch.  Both teams are elite level when it comes to offensive and defensive efficiencies.  They are both near the top in terms of offensive rebounding ability.  I think Saddiq Bey is a lock in all formats at this price point on each site.  Super talented freshman who has entered the starting lineup for Nova.  I think all of Booth, Cosby-Roundtree, Paschall, Gillespie, and Cremo are viable in GPPs for one reason or another.  I really like Pachall’s upside at $6600 on FD.  I am most likely off of Gillespie for the first time this season as I think he struggles in this one.

My favorite Seminole in this game is Trent Forrest, especially at $6800 on DK.  He contributes across the board in terms of categories and he is an excellent FT shooter in a spot where he could see a handful of late FT attempts in a close game.  I think Mann is a safe cash game play on DK, while I think that Koumadje, Kabengele, Walker, and Savoy offer some GPP upside for your lineups.  Kabengele would be my preferred out of that group due to his usage rate when he is on the floor, along with his ability to draw fouls.

NORTHWESTERN vs UTAH

This game should be the slowest of the slate as both defenses do their best to make the opposing offenses grind out their possessions.  I normally love to plug Pardon in for cash lineups at a minimum, however, this matchup is not a positive one for him due to the size of the Utah frontcourt.  I am not enamored with the price points of most of Northwestern in this game.  I do want some exposure to Vic Law, Ryan Taylor, and AJ Turner for GPP purposes.

For Utah, I think Barefield makes sense for GPPs on FD.  After that, I think it’s close your eyes and pick a cheap big man for the Utes and hope you get it right.  I can’t figure out the big man rotations at this point so I will be sprinkling in guys like Tillman, Gach, Battin, and Hendrix.  At this point, I think that Gach is my favorite of those options.

OKLAHOMA ST vs LSU

Based on where LSU is the weakest, Oklahoma St should be able to crash the offensive glass with guys like McGriff and Anei.  Those offensive rebounds should lead to more three-point shots from guys like Cunningham and Dziagwa.  Those 4, along with Weathers, are the ones that I want some exposure to in a game with the highest projected total.  Anei and Cunningham are my two preferred as Anei blocks almost 1 out of every 5 shots taken when he is on the floor and Cunningham’s price is suppressed due to missing a few games with an injury.

I believe the entire starting 5 for LSU is in play as they all have shown flashes of putting up monster GPP winning stat lines.  My favorite GPP is Naz Reid.  I think he is the most talented player on the roster and has shown 40+ fantasy point upside already this season.  My second favorite player is either Smart or Waters, depending on which site you are on.

MEMPHIS vs COLLEGE of CHARLESTON — DK Only

Memphis has a new coach this season, however, they still have the same questions in regards to lineups and rotations so far this season.  Parks returned to the starting lineup recently, while Davenport, who had been the Tigers’ best player so far, moved to the bench.  With what we know about usage so far this season, I want Martin and Lomax in some GPP lineups in this game.  I certainly understand using Davenport, Parks, and Brewton in GPPs, however, I will be limiting my exposure until I can figure out what their plan is.

For College of Charleston, the offense flows through Riller and Brantley.  Should we hear that Pointer is making his season debut in this one, I will have at least one GPP share as he is their PG.  Should Pointer miss this game, I think that Galloway is an unspectacular, last man in option.  The rest of the team is filled with guys who play a decent amount of minutes without contributing much in terms of fantasy relevance.
