Slate Overview:

Here are some notes on the Saturday evening and afterhours slates. There are 7 games on DraftKings and 12 games on FanDuel starting at 7pm ET, and I will try to indicate the FD only plays throughout this article. Hope everyone has a great Saturday watching college football and may your screens be green!

QB

I was thrilled to see Notre Dame QB Ian Book (8700 DK/9500 FD) a few rungs down from the top of the QB list, who has still played well but the lack of touchdowns in the past two weeks presents some value to us as DFS players. He is my favorite top end option. Washington State QB Gardner Minshew (9000 DK/10300 FD) is playing out of his mind, but can he keep it up? After such an emotional win and GameDay coming to Pullman for the first time, how will Wazzu react heading on the road to Stanford? Notre Dame is implied for 39 points as a 24-point favorite (though I believe that Navy can keep it within the number), while Minshew’s Cougars are implied for 25 points vs. Stanford. I lean towards Book, but I can’t talk anyone off Minshew.

On FD and DK afterhours, I am very interested in top prospect Oregon QB Justin Herbert (8900 DK/9300 FD). We saw Utah’s Huntley absolutely shred the AZ defense, and then last week even UCLA roughshod QB combo put up 300 yards and 3 pass TDs versus the Arizona Wildcats.

A few other players I am interested in are NC State QB Ryan Finley (8500 DK/ 8500 FD)  playing in what could be a back and forth game with Syracuse. There is some strong value to Air Force QB Isaiah Sanders (7600 DK/7600 FD) who I love as a complement to Book or Hebert.

Lastly, I am willing to take a shot on Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond (6200 DK), who has done well against elite defenses.

After Hours: I’ll take my chances with a combination of top prospect Oregon QB Justin Herbert (8900 DK/9300 FD) and I like another MWC quarterback in Nevada QB Ty Gangi (6300 DK/8400 FD), who missed the game on 10/6, but has had a few weeks to get healthier and

Fades: Big no on Dungey who may split reps with backup Tommy DeVito, same with Sam Ehlinger who is dealing with an injured shoulder.

DFS Army isn’t only about CFB.  We have accrued a track record for the ages through our content, tools, and coaching advice.  Some members hit the ground running their first day, like KBiggz here…

Yes, you see it correctly.  KBiggz joined his first morning, read through Geek’s Picks, the coaching channels, and assembled this winner that was less than one point away from taking down the cool $1,000,000 first prize.  Not that $200,000 is anything to sneeze at.  Our CFB coaches are working hard all week to bring you great content to also position yourself in those contests, as well.  It’s only a matter of time before army helmets are popping all over those leaderboards, too.

RB

On a slate with a fair amount of uncertainty, NC State RB Reggie Gallaspy (7100 DK/8700 FD) stands out as a reliable target versus a questionable rush defense  Washington State RBs James Williams (7000 DK/9800 FD) and Max Borghi (5000 DK/8400 FD) are a pretty reliable duo, but I’d probably rank Tennessee RB Ty Chandler 5400 DK/8200 FD) slightly ahead of Borghi due to a softer matchup with South Carolina.

An okay value play on FD is Air Force RB Cole Fagan (6800 FD) who will have to pick up more of the running game with Ronald Cleveland out this week for the Falcons. Definitely not in love with him or this collection of backs.

After Hours: I like the idea of stacking Verdell with Justin Herbert and getting a big share of the Oregon production.  I also like San Diego State RB Craig Jasmin (7300 DK/8600 FD). I know Jasmin and Verdell are the two most expensive backs on DK, but I will pay up for them because I don’t think the highest priced receivers are in the best spots. I also believe the Oregon offense will look to get former starter Tony Brooks-James more involved as well.

WR

Put Oklahoma State WR Tylan Wallace (5500 DK/9700 FD) in every single DK lineup.

On FD, I would opt for  WR Landon Wolf (5000 DK/7900 FD).

For both sites, I like Syracuse WR Jamal Custis (6400 DK/8600 FD) as a way to get some solid exposure to the Orange’s offense without having to deal with the QB drama.

The great value at WR on DK continues with South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards (5200 DK/8800 FD), who has been a consistent target for the Gamecocks.

At the top end, Harmon, Richardson and Arcega-Whiteside are all great options. I like Arcega-Whiteside’s teammate Stanford WR Trenton Irwin(5100 DK), who started the season slow but has been targeted much more in the past few weeks.

Afterhours: Wanting to get as much Oregon as possible, I will go start with leading receiver Dillon Mitchell and I also like TE Jacob Breeland as a flex play. The Nevada WRs are decently priced as well.
