Sniper’s Slide Tackle – Player Picks for EPL Matchweek 4 on DraftKings & FanDuel

Well, let’s give this another go as I wrote this whole article for VIPs last week but didn’t hit the save button enough and I’m guessing we all know how that ended. Regardless, the usual player pool was dropped in Slack Chat on Saturday morning and the Army rolled right along despite technical difficulties. Now it’s time to crush matchweek 4 as we have our biggest EPL slate of the season so far on tap.

TreyJ is back from vacation and we are starting what will now be the regular swing of things for Soccer coverage. TreyJ will write a free game-by-game breakdown and I’ll handle initial player picks for the VIPs here in the Slide Tackle. Then on Saturday morning comes the really important stuff as we will both be in Slack breaking things down when lineups are released.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
DraftKings: $10.8k M/F | FanDuel: $11.5k M

That’s right, I didn’t list Sergio Aguero right off the bat today. For me, Aguero checks the box as more of a FanDuel play then a goal dependent forward on DraftKings. On the other hand, Eden Hazard is on the second biggest favorite of the slate is also likely to put up a goal and will also chip in some peripheral stats. I think he’s more than viable on both sites and he comes with the added bonus of being part of the 10:00 am ET initial start time.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (Everton)
DraftKings: $7.9k M/F | FanDuel: $9.5k M

Sigurdsson is back in the player pool this week and I think this may be the last time it’s an easy decision on DraftKings as his price continues to rise. FanDuel is a different story and I don’t think you need to have him based on your construction and the overall difference in scoring systems. Everton is a large favorite on Saturday and their only other play maker has been Richarlisson, who will be serving a suspension due to a red card. Fire up the Icelandic midfielder at least one more time.

Joao Moutinho (Wolves)
DraftKings: $5.7k M | FanDuel: 6.5k M

If you want to pay down in the midfield than Moutinho is one of my favorite mid-range plays for Saturday. Wolves play West Ham, who has a terrible defense, and Moutinho will be on set piece duty. He interests me on DraftKings for the safety of peripheral stats as well as his goal/assist upside (mostly assist) and on FanDuel he can accumulate some of the defensive stats as West Ham should have their fair share of the ball.

Fabian Schar (Newcastle)

DraftKings: $2.7k D | FanDuel: $5.5k D

Last but not least is a FanDuel only play as I expect Fabian Schar to rack up plenty of defensive points at near minimum price as Manchester City should be in a full press in the hammer match. I think that punting central defenders on large underdogs is still an under utilized tactic on FanDuel and provides both floor and ceiling in the right circumstances. If you play against me on FanDuel, I promise someone on the Newcastle back line will be in my lineup.

That’s it for today, remember to be in Slack Saturday morning as myself and Trey will be providing updates and our player pools when lineups are released!
