MME Playbook for MLB DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel, Saturday, August 4th (FREE!)

Pitchers and Stacks Guidelines for FanDuel and DraftKings

The following advice is okay to be used on FanDuel and DraftKings for anywhere between 20-150 lineup entries. It’s important that the more lineups you make the higher the exposure cap I find acceptable. I.E., if you have 150 lineups, I don’t mind having the max exposure set at 60-70%. The fewer lineups you have, let’s say 20-50, I really don’t want more than 50% exposure to any one team or pitcher. Make sure you adjust this on that sliding scale. *The more lineups you have the higher the acceptable max exposure limit – vice versa*

Congratulations to the $100,000 Winner!

Before we get started I just wanted to say congratulations to our $100,000 winning member on Sunday! He’s been a member for quite a while and put together a life-changing lineup and made our Hall of Fame! A nice round of applause for the other big Sunday winners including a $17,000 win, a $15,000 win, a PGA live final seat on DraftKings, and a nice MLB victory!

Pitchers Guidelines

Make sure you have a minimum of 5-10% on each of the following, however, similar to our max exposure guidelines above – the more lineups you have the more acceptable it is to target any one player or stack with a higher exposure. If you have 150 lineups and love CC Sabathia, then throw 20% minimum on him which would result in 30 lineups out of your 150. If you only have 20 lineups, you might want to just have 10% or so which would result in a minimum of 2 lineups with CC. *Just remember, your pitching percentage on DraftKings is 200% total due to there being 2 pitching slots. I am normally more apt to have a higher minimum exposure on DK just due to the two pitcher spots*

Pitchers:

Corey Kluber has held opposing batters to a .215 AVG and has a 0.93 WHIP when pitching at home in 2018. He’s a -235 favorite on Saturday as the Indians host the Angels.

Kluber is priced at $10,400 on FanDuel and remarkably just $10,100 on DraftKings. He’s an elite value with massive upside on DK and a solid value on FanDuel.

After a bumpy month of July, Kluber looked like he got back on the saddle in his last start at the Tigers, where he went 7 innings and allowed only 1 run while striking out 5. At his price point, we have to make sure we have exposure to Klubot on both sites for MME.

Austin Gomber is starting on Saturday against the Pirates, which in and of itself isn’t a good position to be in. However, he’s extremely cheap and has pitched well in the minors and MLB this season. In fact, on July 24th, Gomber went 6.1 innings and struck out 6 batters while only giving up 2 hits and 2 earned runs.

Sometimes these spot start guys without a lot of film on their mechanics and arsenal can cause hitters issues, no matter the talent level. Fortunately for Gomber, he’s shown that his a middle to back end rotation level talent and serviceable in these spot starts. I like him for MME to allow us to go heavy on a few stacks in superb spots, yet again.

Tyler Anderson is really hard not to like at the Brewers. Yes, the Brew Crew has a bevy of mashers up and down that lineup, but Anderson is a legit talent and priced as if he’s in Coors, which is a mistake.

On the road in 11 starts this season, Anderson has held opposing hitters to a .209 AVG and has a 1.08 WHIP (both splits are better than his home stats). A mid-priced arm with legit 25-30 point upside on DraftKings and 50 point upside on FanDuel is right in my MME wheelhouse.

If you want to discuss more pitching options (I have two more in my pool for the main slate, including my favorite GPP option), you’ll have to hit me up in Slack!

How could I forget?

A quick secondary congratulations to the three other $10,000, $20,000, and $50,000 winner’s we had THIS WEEK in the DFS Army. Capped off with the $100,000 win and the other wins in the screenshot above, it’s been a special week for members!

Stacking Guidelines

The first “group” of teams are your primary targets. Your goal is to make sure that you have the largest portion of lineups with these teams fully stacked with either the 3-3, 3-4, or 4-4 settings and 2 or 3 uniques (2 on slates that are smaller and 3 on the larger slates).

The second “group” of teams are your secondary and tertiary targets. You’ll want to sprinkle them in a little on their own and a few of them with your favorite teams from the first group.

Tier 1 Stack Targets:

Texas Rangers continue to score in bunches. Dylan Bundy is in massive trouble on Saturday as he has allowed a 94 MPH exit velocity, a 247 foot batted ball distance, and a 45% hard-hit rate to opposing batters over his last two starts. All of those number are a bit higher than his season-long average but pretty much in line with his averages since mid-June. He’s been stinking it up for 2-months now.

In his last 19.1 innings pitched he’s given up 8 home runs and 18 earned runs. Yes, you read that right. I am going heavy on the Rangers.

Washington Nationals again find themselves in Tier 1 and Vegas has set their implied run total at 4.8 runs. They get to host the visiting Reds and Matt Harvey’s 48% hard-hit rate allowed over his last 3 starts.

In Harvey’s last 25 innings (5 starts), he’s allowed 5 home runs and 13 earned runs. Not terrible for Matt Harvey! Nats are hot, Harvey is not and I love this spot and I like to rhyme a lot.

Tier 2 Stack Targets:

Oakland Athletics have a 5.0 implied run total as they host the visiting Detroit Tigers. Opposing pitcher Jordan Zimmerman has given up 2 home runs in each of his last 3 starts. That has resulted in 13 earned runs in just 14.2 innings pitched.

Cleveland Indians could win the slate for anybody reading this article on Saturday. The opposing pitcher, Felix Pena, has allowed a 43% hard-hit rate in 2018. Wow! The thing is, Pena has done a pretty good job at limiting damage even though he gets hit hard. However, if the Mariners exposed him in his last game and the Indians are able to pound him again, we could be looking at an offensive explosion of 10+ runs with a handful of home runs coming in the first few innings.

I am saving the rest of my Tier 2 stacking targets (3 options and game stacks) to be used as stand-alone stacks and in conjunction with the Tier 1, for our VIP members. I hope to see you in Slack so we can discuss the slate, this article, and updates to my opinions as lineup confirmations come out!
