Kickin it on the Pitch w/ TreyJ – gameweek 4 EPL DFS for Draftkings and Fanduel

My name is Mike, but you can find me in slack and on twitter as TreyJ989. Now that we got both guys on staff back let’s talk about the new season of DFS Premier League and what you can expect from us this season. Last season we had the “Kickin it on the Pitch” article (the one you are currently reading); but, this year, we are adding a VIP article filled with player picks.  When the room is buzzing and the questions and banter are flying fast, it can be tough to slow it down and fully explain why someone is a better. We want to help you read, react and learn how to examine the soccer slate in front of you. It doesn’t have a name just yet but be on the lookout for that. You can only look out for it, though, if you become a VIP.

The DFS Army has you covered in any and every sport with which they can make a DFS contest. NFL season is back and you are probably looking to scratch that itch as you see draftkings and fanduel commercials come across your tv screens. The best aspect of your subscription is the ever so popular slack chat where you have access to these industry pros and specific DFS coaches. That is where the magic happens. Use promo code GOAL for 10% off your lifetime subscription ($40.50/mo after discount) and start taking your DFS game to the next level! We even cover sports betting! You will get more here, for less, than anywhere else. Come be a part of the best team in the industry.

The format for this article will be different than last year’s. This article is designed to break the games down for you and give you a starting point. Saturday’s main slate has 6 games.

Chelsea v Bournemouth

This is the 2nd highest total of the slate but it will likely carry the highest ownership. Bournemouth has been on fire but they are about to run into an offense that has gelled more quickly than some would have anticipated. As such, you probably want to steer clear of the Bournemouth atack. Their defense is fully in play, moreso on Fanduel where clearances matter. Sarri-ball should win the day, as Bournemouth cannot command the midfield with the like of Kante and Jorginho opposing them. Willian, if he starts, will find his way into my cash games.

West Ham v Wolverhampton

Last week, we saw each of these squads take on big clubs and only one of them was equal to the task. West Ham went into the emirates and looked threatening at times, but Marko Arnautovic had trouble staying onsides. In the end, they fell to Arsenal 3-1. The wolves hosted Manchester City and gave them all they could handle. Offensively, it was a bit haphazard at times, but the counter was fairly solid. The real story was their defense in the final third. This team surely is doing what they can to show they belong. They earned a draw with the defending champs. This should be a back and forth affair with many accumulating points for both squads. The result could go either way.

Crystal Palace v Southampton

If you remember this time last year, Crystal Palace looked hapless. I think it took them 10 matches just to get their first goal. What a difference a year makes (and a healthy Wilfried Zaha). Palace comes in as a favorite and rightly so. I think the books have this one right, but it’s the lowest total on the board. I don’t expect to see myself getting overexposed to this game, but we will see what the deep dive pulls up. Wilfred Zaha is the first person that comes to mind, and he can be used in any format; but this game is the epitome of GPP and one we will look into, further, in slack.

With the supreme court ruling that sports betting is legal, the DFS Army has launched their “Beat the Bookie” site. This is where we have handicappers teaching members how to make bets as well as sharing their proven models. If you have ever wanted to try your hand at sports betting, it’s better to do it with the help of winners in your ear. We have teamed up with the site MyBookie. If you are a new user and deposit, you will get a free month of the Beat the Bookie service.

Everton v Huddersfield

Last week was something wasn’t it? The main slate saw 4 red cards, two of which were in this game. Despite that silliness (see the highlight of Richarlison’s red card), Everton played to a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. Now they face a listless Huddersfield team that will probably get relegated at the end of the season. One thing going for them, though, is the lack of depth at centerback for Everton due to injury. They were down Jagielka and Mina, but have lost Keane to a head fracture. He will miss 3 or 4 weeks at a minimum. I could see this game going a couple different ways. It’s a GPP game for sure but it’s possible that we may want even less exposure to this than the Palace/Southampton tie.

Brighton v Fulham

Brighton has been getting it done despite early on this season. After beating Manchester United, BHA managed to lose 1-0 at Liverpool. Even though they didn’t get any points, that is a remarkable job on defense. They can ride that wave back home when they take on Fulham. Fulham has had a bit of a slow start to their campaign but last week we saw them break out in a  big way. Beating Burnley 4-2 is nothing to shake a stick at. Both these teams should look to go for the win and I think there are plays on both sides of this one. Pascal Gross is on my radar for my cash games.

Manchester City v Newcastle

Newcastle has some key injuries, including Jonjo Shelvey. That is a huge loss in the midfield. Injuries at the back, as well, do not spell good things for them on the road. Sergio Aguero is the obvious place to start but I like his spot. City should roll them and you should have a piece of it, if you can. I’m going to leave it at that.

That’s the game breakdown for this week. For more picks stay tuned for theDFSniper’s article and join the Dfsarmy. A couple things before we go, though. The DFS Army has a freeroll tourney setup for week 1 on FantasyDraft. You can join it by clicking the link in the previous sentence. The good folks over there will be hooking us up all season so this is just the beginning. It pays to be a VIP. We will always have free content but the good stuff is saved for the ones who are willing to go the extra step. We will stand with you, if you stand with us. Good luck this week!
