We have a two game slate on our hands today, and it brings with it two brutal matchups. Fantasy scoring will be hard to find today, and we can’t afford to make any mistakes in order to perform well today. Before we dive in today, my first piece of advice is to play small today. This is one of those slates which you play just half of your usually bankroll number. Let’s be smart and make some money today! Let’s dive in!

  • Los Angeles Sparks @ New York Liberty

The top play here is Candace Parker. Her matchup against Vaughn is a good one to exploit. She might be the only top forward to crack 40 fantasy points tonight. Nneka Ogwumike will have her hands full with Tina Charles, limiting her appeal here today. Chelsea Gray is a phenomenal play and the top guard on this slate. Fire her up in all formats. Among the players left on the Sparks, the only one I’m interested in is Alana Beard. She will get the minutes and puts up enough peripheral stats to meet value tonight.

For the Liberty, Tina Charles will need to deliver today for them to have any chance. She is a strictly GPP play due to the brutal matchup against Ogwumike. Amanda Zahui B is in terrific form right now and is the preferred play here over Kia Vaughn. She’ll be extremely chalky, and one could make the argument of playing Vaughn over her at low ownership in GPPs. It becomes really difficult picking anyone else here for the Liberty. The guard defense of the Sparks is really that good. My go to Liberty guard pick is Kia Nurse, because she is cheap and just relentless enough to break through and have a good game here.

  • Connecticut Sun @ Dallas Wings

This is another tough game for both sides. Chiney Ogwumike has seen a substantial reduction in minutes of late, and compounded with the foul trouble potential against Liz Cambage, she becomes a really risky play. Jonquel Jones makes for a better play in GPPs here, her minutes are still a little too inconsistent to be trusted in Cash. Alyssa Thomas is the top play for the Sun. Her matchup is excellent, and her ability to stuff the stat sheet makes her one of the only other players able to break the 40 fantasy points barrier on this slate. I have no interest in Shekinna Stricklen. Both Courtney Williams and Jasmine Thomas are in play in all formats today, with Williams being slightly preferred to Thomas, due to matchup and consistency. My sneaky GPP play here is Morgan Tuck. This is the kind of spot she enjoys performing in, however, her minutes are extremely inconsistent making her a huge boom or bust play.

Liz Cambage will be very popular tonight and for good reason. She’s one of the first plays in your Cash lineup. I personally will be fading her in GPPs to avoid the high ownership and instead grab Parker at lower ownership, but this is just a contrarian play. Cambage is in a good spot and should perform. Skylar Diggins-Smith is still questionable, adding a little more intrigue to the equation. I won’t be playing Diggins-Smith if she plays, the matchup is just top brutal. In the same vein, I have no interest in Allisha Gray today. I could be convinced to play Kaela Davis as a GPP punt if Diggins-Smith is out, but that’s not something I’m going for. Glory Johnson is capable of excelling in her matchup today, the question is which Johnson do you get? She’s a GPP play, but I’ll hesitate to use her in Cash. Finally, Kayla Thornton makes for a value play in Cash games due to her high minutes.
