We have five games around the league today. The main slate on Draftkings contains all five games and starts at 3 pm ET. Fanduel decided to split the slate into two: The early slate contains the 3 pm ET games, and the main slate carries the remaining three games and starts at 5 pm ET. Today’s games are filled with a lot of minefields with potential blowouts and players in bad spots abound on the slate. Let take a look at it!

  • Washington Mystics @ Atlanta Dream

The Mystics go as Elena Delle Donne goes. In the previous game between these two, EDD didn’t come anywhere close to meeting her value, a product of the tough matchup she faces here. That said, EDD is still a stud and can perform in any matchup. LaToya Sanders, Ariel Atkins, Kristi Toliver, and Natasha Cloud are all playable today as they are in good/neutral spots. Atkins and Toliver are the favorite here.

With the addition of Alex Bentley, great uncertainty has been introduced into the rotation and minutes distribution. The entire guard core of the Dream is in a neutral spot here today. My top pick from this group is Tiffany Hayes for her consistency. Brittney Sykes, Renee Montgomery, and Bentley round out the group. Angel McCoughtry is in a tough spot here. She found success last time out, but that doesn’t change the fact that this matchup is brutal. Breland went off for a massive 55+ Fpts output here, I’m not sure I want to chase that outcome here. Finally, Elizabeth Williams makes for a good GPP play.

  • Chicago Sky @ New York Liberty

This is the fourth meeting between these teams. The spot is great for Stefanie Dolson to continue climbing out of the doghouse. The spot is tough for Cheyenne Parker who has been consistent since being introduced into the starting lineup. Allie Quigley and Diamond DeShields are in fantastic spots. DeShields is in a better spot and is the better GPP play, while Quigley is more consistent and is better in cash games. Courtney Vandersloot has a horrendous matchup, but that has rarely slowed her in the past. She is the top play on this team, and is priced accordingly.

The Liberty face one of the worst defenses in the league. Tina Charles and Kia Vaughn are in excellent spots. Charles has not taken advantage of this matchup yet, but she has the ability to do so. Kia Vaughn makes for an excellent value play in all formats. The guard situation for the Liberty is what it is. Of interest today are Epiphany Prince and Brittany Boyd, with Bria Hartley thrown into the mix in GPPs.

  • Phoenix Mercury @ Indiana Fever

I’ve made it a point not to play centers against the Fever. Britney Griner is a stud and can put up 50 on anyone, any day. Griner can be played in all formats today. Personally, I’m taking a stand and fading her. I love Camille Little today. I expect lower ownership on her after the disappointment last game. DeWanna Bonner has a tough matchup and I have little interest in her except as a GPP hedge. Diana Taurasi is my favorite play for the Mercury. She’s in a tremendous spot and we are aware of her abilities. Yvonne Turner makes for an interesting GPP flyer here, depending on how the game plays out.

This is a brutal game for the Fever. It won’t be a surprise if this game turns into a blowout early. Natalie Achonwa and Candice Dupree are in terrible spots, and I have no interests in them. The matchup is neutral for Victoria Vivians. The guard rotation for the Fever is in flux right now. If Cappie Pondexter starts again, she might be the best option. I’m just really not into the Fever today, and I can see value in completely fading them.

  • Los Angeles Sparks @ Las Vegas Aces

The Sparks face an Aces team that gives up a lot of fantasy points to opponents. The previous two meetings have been blowouts, so keep that in mind as you target this game. Candace parker has an excellent matchup here, and is one of the top studs on the slate. Nneka Ogwumike is also a good play tonight. Making the choice between Parker and Ogwumike is always a chore, I’m leaning Parker here. With Alana Beard likely out, Essence Carson will be called on to do more, making her a good choice in an excellent spot. Finally, Odyssey Sims and Chelsea Gray are in good spots as well and can be utilized in all formats. Interesting MME plays are Riquana Williams and Karlie Samuelson.

For the Aces, it all starts with A’ja Wilson. I’m not a big fan of Wilson in this particular matchup (the huge game she had, Nneka Ogwumike was out). Instead, Carolyn Swords and Dearica Hamby are my favorite bigs to use here. You have to choose one in this spot, and I’m currently leaning towards Swords. With Beard likely out, Tamera Young and Kayla McBride have much better matchups, making them excellent plays. Kelsey Plum is in a bad spot and I’ll have little exposure to her.

  • Connecticut Sun @ Minnesota Lynx

The hammer game on the slate features two heavyweights. With Chiney Ogwumike back at the five, I have little interest in her today. My interest is in Alyssa Thomas who has a sneakily good matchup here today. The best spot to attack the Lynx is through their guards. Courtney Williams and Jasmine Thomas are in play today. Clarendon is still getting her legs underneath her, she makes for an MME play. Jonquel Jones remains a deep GPP play.

For the Lynx, it starts up top with Sylvia Fowles. She is in a good spot, one in which she regularly performs. The same holds true for Maya Moore. I can see stacking both Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore here today. Temi Fagbenle is an interesting value play with her insertion into the starting lineup at power forward. Finally, I have zero interest in any of the Lynx guards. They are just not appealing for DFS purposes today.
