3 games tonight.  On micro-slates, you can lean to gpp-only stuff and really get creative.  The reason is simple:  With such a limited player pool, there will be a ton of overlap on the chalk.  Therefore, that one big game from nowhere often separates you completely from the pack in both cash and gpps.  I always back up my gpp plays with some cash games because I’m going to cross a 5050 line before I get close to a gpp line, but if you played gpp-only, you won’t hear me complain.  Let’s skim it….

NHL Advice – Matchups and Focal Points

TBL vs TOR – Tampa comes into town on the front of road back to back games.  While not ideal, it’s not a terrible spot, per se.  Toronto gives up goals with a more wide-open style, and with a game total already at 6 from Vegas, you can expect there will be a lot of appeal here across the industry.  The 2nd line of Toronto appears to be their soft spot, so I’m favoring the big guns of Tampa.  We haven’t mentioned the KuchieStank line in awhile, but I think it’s finally time to revisit them with Hedman.  The 2nd line of Toronto is also doing a lot of their scoring, so this might be where the fireworks all happen.  Give me the steady Kadri/Marner combo for cheaper, and I might wind up a happy man when the slate draws to a close.

FLA vs EDM – I hear some chatter about Edmonton at home, but I’m not exactly sold.  I think goals get scored on the Florida side here.  Talbot gives goals generously, and both FLA1 and FLA2 are running hot.  (I’ll break down numbers off our Research Station for our VIPs)  On the Edmonton side, though, I do love me some McDavid.  And, tonight, we can afford him.  I think pairing him with Draisaitl is the move in cash games because it spreads you out at even strength but reunites you with McDreamy on the power play.  Klefbom is usually an easy pairing with them, and he has failed to earn you 9 FD points in only one of his last seven games.

CHI vs ARI – Both teams hit their first of back to backs tonight, but Chicago’s is on the road.  Chicago has been reeling a bit of late with their offense completely drying up.  The 2nd and 4th lines of Arizona are bleeding goals, but I’m not sure Chicago is up to the task right now.  I will be using any Blackhawks sparingly in cash games.  Therefore, I might load up a stack in gpps as a hedge.  The reason I mention hedging is because I do really seem to like ARI1 tonight.  Perlini and Keller have been producing.  Perlini on 4 goals, 1 assist, and 22 shots in his last 10 games.  Keller on 1 goal and 3 assists on 20 shots over the same span.  And, their centerman, Stepan, has a goal, 6 assists, and 27 shots.  It doesn’t sound like great production on the surface, but considering it doesn’t even cost you $14k in salary to get all three, I’m going to make that my value #StackSlam of the night.

New VIPs Rock the GPPs!

So, as we sweated this victory out together, AS AN ARMY, last night in Slack I asked “smackptb” if he would share some thoughts on assembling this gem.  His answer surprised even me because I didn’t think he leaned as heavily on my Value Stacks and Breakdown articles…

I keep telling people the content is great, but the Slack conversations put him on the winning play, James Neal.
