NBA Data Dive for FanDuel and DraftKings

It happened again. I cannot make this stuff up if I wanted to. This past weekend on FanDuel and DraftKings, we had a member win $250,000! This is our 8th member in the last 60-days to win between $50,000-$250,000! The DFS Army helmets are up and down the standings across all DFS platforms and our membership is closing in on 2,000 because of it. We have enormous momentum, no doubt about it.

On Sunday, in the $250 Sun NFL Do You Want More large field GPP, member “dbarlow87”, who also has a live final seat and had a $40,000 winning night a few weeks ago, took down first place and walked away with a life-changing $250,000!

If you want to read about this $250,000 win and seven more $50,000 – $150,000 winning lineups, go ahead and read this article! We’ve had four qualifier seats won on DK, several on FanDuel, eight wins between $50,000 and $250,o00 and dozens of 5-digit winning lineups by members over the past 60-days. This goes out to all of you, the best members in the universe:

Let’s get to work!

Guards

John Wall is under-priced on DraftKings for his pace-up game with the Orlando Magic on Friday night. He has scored 51, 45, 51, 45, and 66 points on DK over the last five games. He’s healthy and looks explosive. The Magic guards can’t contain opposing guards and Wall has a chance to finish as the highest scoring point guard on this slate.

Devin Booker is the guy I would want to use if I am rolling out Chris Paul in a lineup. It’s a game theory play that Paul and Booker lead the offense of both teams in a high-scoring fast-paced affair. He’s been pretty inconsistent as of late but his usage rate has been 29.65% or higher in six of the last seven games. The usage is there, the minutes are up, and he’s taken 17+ shots in each of those 6 games. If his shot is falling there might not be another shooting guard that can match his ceiling on Friday.

Jimmy Butler was someone I was shouting from the rooftops to use last game (just like I was with John Wall). Both Wall and Butler exploded and their mid-8k price tag was something a lot of DFS Army members who listened to me in Slack exploited. Unfortunately, both Wall and Butler are priced accordingly now and if you didn’t listen then you missed the boat. That being said, Butler is a fantastic shoot guard option on DraftKings at just 9.2k. He has a 55-60 fantasy point ceiling and can easily anchor a cash game or GPP lineup if you decide to fade the upper-tier of studs and settle on the 8-9k range.

Donovan Mitchell has had just about the same price tag for the past month and he continues to hit value. He’s a great cash game option on both FanDuel and DraftKings. He has taken over 20-shots the last two games and if Favors misses again on Friday then Mitchell likely will be asked to take another 20. He has 50-point upside and whenever a player with his talent to score is given more opportunities to do just that, I want to try to take advantage.

Victor Oladipo is my favorite play on the entire slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings. His usage rate is 27.2% and he’s playing 34.2 Min/G. His 42.5 FP/G is right at value for his price tag and his matchup is one that he should be able to exceed his season-long average.

The Cavs defense is wretched and has been destroyed the last two games by the Wolves and Raptors. Dipo has an elite 60-70 point ceiling and yet is priced $1,000-2,000 less than the true studs. His probability to hit his ceiling isn’t as high as the premier players in the league but that doesn’t mean he can’t or that he won’t. Again, I am finding myself living in the 8-9k range on both sites with the options we have on Friday.

Dennis Schroeder has the third highest usage rate (29.2%) out of the 18 projected starting point guards on this slate. His matchup with the fast-paced Brooklyn Nets will provide him an opportunity to exceed his FP/G average of 34.2 points. He was shaky for a few weeks but has scored 36 FanDuel points in two of the last three games. He’s an elite GPP option on FD.

Tyreke Evans has been my top cash game shooting guard across most sites for the past month and rightfully so. He has taken 20+ shots in five of the last nine games and has a usage rate over 29% in seven of them. The offense basically flows through Evans and Gasol with the rest of the team picking up scraps. His matchup against the Nuggets is a plus and the pace-up game environment is excellent.

I have to keep the rest of my plays for our members only, sorry!

Forwards

Kristaps Porzingis is way too cheap on both FanDuel and DraftKings. He’s especially alluring on DK where he is only $7,800. He is playing heavy minutes and taking a ton of shots every single game. He’s had a usage rate of 28.36% or higher in four of the last six games and has taken 19-plus shots in 11 of the last 16 games. For whatever reason his price dropped on both sites even though his minutes and usage are sky high. I am not fearful of Tim Hardaway Jr. returning and causing Porzingis to lose minutes or usage. It will be THJ’s first game back in over a month.

Otto Porter is the ideal play for our “ladder system” that we teach our members to use to maximize their nightly ROI by using a specific investment and contest structure. The Wizards are implied to score 114.0 points which is nearly a full 8.0 points more than their season-long average. The pace-up and higher implied will likely lead to more fantasy goodness for the entire Wizards offense.

If you want the rest of my forward plays, you’re going to have to join up and check out my updated “Slack Notes” that I will release an hour prior to lock. All three of our full-time NBA coaches release updates “Notes” based on the news cycle and ever-shifting NBA DFS landscape.

Centers

I can’t give away all the goodies for free.
