Sunday morning I woke up to a plethora of messages on Slack about one main topic: weather. Storms were popping up in the Northeast making the target games look a little worse for the wear. The weather had the Vegas lines dropping point total on games making them less desirable for receivers. As I was considering what strategy I wanted to go with this week, I checked in with DFSnDONUTS had to say in his VIP Article, Stacks on Stacks this week. Top thoughts of the week were to stack the HOU v. SEA game. Cross-referencing my notes from Geek’s Podcast “No one is going to be on him. Super low ownership. Stats say don’t play him. These situations where it looks bad, but it ends up being a high scoring game. it’s how you win a GPP.” Further evidence to push me to this game was Slack chat. Numerous people were talking about the Vegas lines dropping in the Northeast games and the SEA/HOU game creeping up in point totals as sharp money started rolling in. This was enough for me to decide on a core.
I locked in Watson and Hopkins into the Domination Station. Since I was only running 5 LUs (5 max entry) I set all other players to 66% exposure, took out everyone projected under 15 points, and hit run. I started tweaking from here. Setting to 66% made sure there were no repeating players in any LU except for Watson/Hopkins.
Another Gem from the Geek’s Podcast: “In order to fit in these studs, I don’t mind running double TE on Draft Kings this week. Their salaries are depressed enough for it to be a solid value.” Generally, I’ll force any TE out of the flex spot, but this week based on looking over the NFL Research Station it seemed fine to run double TE since I was running Reed anyway as a near lock with a depressed salary and hopes he wasn’t hurt. If you cross reference the line up to Geek’s pick sheet, Doyle and Anderson were the only two players not on his list as viable GPP plays. The Domination Station optimized them into my line up and I ran with it.

In the end, it’s trusting your process and tools. Would I have normally run Doyle and Anderson? Probably not, but I trusted the Domination Station. Would I usually consider running two TE in a lineup? Not really, but I trust Geek’s analysis on the podcast. Would I have ever even considered a QB with a depleted team, in the midst of off the field drama, going into a team’s house with a stout defense? Maybe, but not without a combination of Slack advice, DFSnDONUTS Stacks on Stacks Article , and Geek’s Podcast.
